Ash, Pikachu and Greninja strolled across the beach at 6 am in the morning. 'Jeez this week went by quick' Ash sighed and sat down on the sand and watched the sun rise. His two Pokémon sat either side of him staring as well. 'This will be the road to justice, we will keep on working hard and make things right again' Ash said, his eyes gleamed as the morning sun rose in the horizon. His two Pokémon nodded with him with their determined faces gleaming brightly at the first light.

'Not the only one awake it seems' Ash turned around and saw Gary off all people standing there. His arms were folded and his face had a grin. Ash stood up straight, he was slightly taller than Gary, but that didn't put him off. 'What do you want?' Ash asked, his tone seemed rather angry.

'Why show up after all these years? After all the trouble you did to your caring mother and friends, you show up' Gary said his emotions were getting the better of him. Ash seemed rather shocked, Gary has never spoken out in so much anger and pain before.

'The mother who wanted rid of me? The mother who killed my heart? The friends who broke my trust? I don't think I've hurt anybody... all of you have hurt me' Ash said, he was starting to get pissed off, he wanted to punch something but his conscience held him firm. He began to walk away from Gary with his Pokémon.

'Just so you know, your mother cries everyday hoping you had never done all of this.. walking out on her. Just like your dad' Gary said, he then walked off, Ash was left starstruck. The day he walked out flooded his memory, tears started to swell up in his eyes. He had never met his father. He left a year before he was born, and not a single time he came to visit.

Ash lost his balance and fell into the sand, with few tears and in deep thought. 'Come on your much stronger than this son! Come on get up and mark your name on this tournament!' The voice echoed around. Ash snapped out of his thoughts and looked around, there was nobody around this time. He could've sworn he saw a shadow disappear behind the building in front but nothing else happened.

'Ash are you ok?' Greninja asked, he put his hand on his shoulder. 'Yes yes I am fine. I need to be strong! These things cannot haunt me! no way will it!' Ash punched the sand one last time and got up in determination and anger. 'Let's do this!' He shouted, waking up nearby residents.

'Come on buddy! It's 6 am in the morning, stop shouting!' An old man shouted from his window. Ash and his Pokémon sweat dropped in embarrassment. 'Well come on guys you need to rest up and then we'll try and fit some training! Greninja return and Pikachu get in my back pack' Ash's Greninja had entered his PokéBall and Pikachu curled up in Ash's bag.

Ash then headed back to his hotel and could see people now beginning to get up and go for jogs or drink some tea at the cafeteria. Ash noticed Calem at the front desk but decided to avoid him as he already had a confrontation with Gary. 'Ketchum!' Calem shouted as he spotted Ash. Ash gave a huge sigh but carried on walking until he was grabbed. 'Come on show some manners I only want to say good morning and good luck' Calem said with a smirk on his face.

'I don't see what's good about the morning especially when I see you, and I don't need your luck.. it's rotten like your finger nails' Ash said smiling, 'Good morning to you as well' Ash was beaming and walked off. At the corner of his eye he saw Calem cautiously look at his finger nails and looked up and gave Ash an evil stare.

'We'll see about that! And wait till this finger nails are on Serena!' Calem shouted. Ash was pissed now. Luckily for him most people had gone outside. Ash grabbed Calem by the collar and pinned him against the wall. 'If you dare talk about Serena like that I swear to god I will...' Ash was about to punch Calem but another hand blocked him from doing so.

Ash looked at the hand and saw Lysandre of all people standing there. 'Noble of you Ash, to protect your loved ones but.. no one touches my colleagues!' Lysandre pushed him to the ground, 'Raichu iron tail' Lysandre commanded cooly. A Raichu came out of nowhere and smacked his tail across Ash's chest making him fly a few meters away against a wall. Ash was winded and stayed down clutching his chest, his vision was all a blur.

'Remember my warning, cheerio!' The orange haired man said and walked off with Calem close by. That was the last thing that Ash remembered.

After an hour or so, Ash woke up and found him self in a broom cupboard on the floor, his bag was taken away and so was Pikachu, luckily his PokéBalls hadn't been taken. 'Lucario, use bone rush on the door!' Ash shouted. The furry Pokemon bashed down the door with a long piece of bone and sprawled out through the wreckage.

Ash still felt a bit dazed from the earlier hit but managed to keep balanced. Suddenly a voice boomed around the building, "Ash Ketchum! Last call for registration!" Without a second, Ash darted out of the building and towards the stadium that was in the centre of the island.

With the gang...

'Where is Ash Pikachu? I thought you were with him in the morning' Serena said in worry. Pikachu was cradled in her arms. Unfortunately he had fallen asleep during the whole mini fight that Ash had been involved him so there was no information about that passed around the group.

'Don't worry Serena, I'm sure he wouldn't want to miss a Pokémon battle any day of the week!' Max said grabbing Serena's hand reassuringly. Serena gave a weak smile back to Max, 'yeah he sure is late to even the most important things sometimes' Serena said making chuckles go around.

'Look there he is!' Zack said as he pointed to Lucario and Ash running towards them. Ash reached the group within a few seconds and was panting like crazy. 'Ash your a mess what happened?' Serena noticed a small cut under his eye. 'No time to explain! I need to register quick!' Ash said and ran off inside.

...Time Skip...

'Ash now can you explain why you were late and why do u have cuts and bruises on your face?' Serena asked in worry. 'Serena don't worry, I fell down the stairs in the morning because it was dark' Ash said. Serena gave him a look but she relaxed, 'Okay please be careful, I can't ever see you in pain' Serena said.

'Serena, Don't wor-'

'That was quite a battle between Drew and Gareth but Drew manages to edge out on top!' The announcer bellowed out through the microphone. The audience in the stadium gave large cheers as some were filmed on camera and displayed on the big screen.

'That concludes the group 2 battles, now moving onto Group 3, with the first match between Tyson and...

'Ash Ketchum'

All the gang looked at him. Ash stood up and took a deep breath. 'Go on Ash put your name on this tournament!' Clement said, putting Ash in his determined mode. He started to walk away, some boos started to ring around but some cheers tried to fight back from the crowd. 'Looks like they don't see me as favourite today.. we'll see' Ash said to himself smiling.

He reached the tunnel just before the entrance, however there was a man standing there. 'Just before the battle begins, each trainer will be checked for any possession of illegal items, so please excuse the slight delay!' The announcer bellowed. Murmurs we're spreading about Ash, some claiming he will get caught and some claiming he never used them.

'The man approached Ash, 'your PokéBalls please?' He brought his hand out expecting 6 balls on it (it sounds so weird xD) Ash put his PokéBalls in his hand, and explained the Pikachu situation. The man disappeared into a room on the side and came back out, 'you are clear to go,' the man said, ash nodded and walked up the stairs and waited at the end. 'He has not used any drugs so expect a clean battle' The man whispered but Ash could hear him.

'Well the wait is over! Please welcome Tyson and Ash!' The two of them came onto the battlefield and stood in their positions. There was a gaping whole in the middle, for the battlefield. Ash looked all around milking in the atmosphere by the 30 odd thousand people. That didn't stop him from spotting Serena, her hands were clasped near her chest. She gave a nod and Ash replied with a grin.

'There is no way I can lose!' Ash said to himself. He looked up at his opponent he seemed a bit nervous with the crowd but seemed to shrug it off. 'Very well, this is a 3v3 battle, when all three Pokémon are down from either trainer the match will be concluded. This is a clean battle. Good luck to you both! Now release your Pokemon!' The referee spoke as the battlefield rose onto their level. It was a grass field.

'Greninja I choose you!' Ash threw his PokeBall onto the battlefield. The ninja Pokémon came out in his usual stance. He opened his eyes. His first sight was Ash, both of them felt the connection rise in them. Soon Greninja was enveloped in water as the transition began to happen. There were gasps in the crowd as some had never seen this before.

After a minute, Greninja turned and faced his opponent in his new form. His opponent was already scared enough. Tyson took a minute but then brought out his Pokémon. 'Come out, Arcanine!' He yelled but with no confidence. As the Pokémon landed on the battle field, the scar Ash had on his eye began to ache. Memories of when he was attacked came back. He put his hand onto his eye and winced. He already felt tired from being attacked in the morning, and now his scar was hurting.

'Battle Begin!'

'Arcanine thunder fang!' Tyson shouted
Arcanine growled at Ash. Tyson noticed this and ordered it to not hurt Ash. And so instead of Greninja he ran at Ash. The memory of his scar was becoming more and more realistic. Arcanine jumped on top of Ash. Gasps all rang around the stadium at the sight. Ash could hear faint cries of the referee calling the match off but his eyes were fixed on the same claw that opened up a wound on his eye.

This all seemed to happen in slow motion. The claw was an inch from the same eye before the Pokémon's body went flying off Ash. Ash looked to his left and saw Greninja holding his shuriken. Arcanine had fainted in an instant. Ash walked up to it but his scar was beating like hell, however in the stands he caught the eye of Lysandre who smiled at Ash and walked away.

'That cheeky little bast-' Ash was cut off by the announcer, 'This match has been called off and therefore Ash Ketchum has been given the victory by the disqualification of Tyson from the tourn-' Ash returned the favour and cut him off as the Ref. The referee then whispered in his mic and waited for the announcer again.

'From Ash Ketchum's request, Tyson will not be removed from the tournament however his loss in this game has been concluded so Ash wins by a default of 3-0!' The announcer finished.

Applauses rang around the stadium for Ash's nobility towards Tyson. Ash looked at his opponent and he seemed to be in distress. They both walked off down their tunnels and away from the muttering crowd.

At the exit, Ash was bombarded by his friends, but Serena especially, she embraced him tightly as he came in her sight.

'The time I say I can't see you get hurt, you almost get hurt! I can't believe it! And how could that boy just attack you.. I'm going to give him a piece of my mind!' Serena was in her anger mode but worried for Ash.

'Calm down Serena, and it's not his fault...' Ash said, which confused everyone around him, even so Serena withdrew from the hug.

'What do you mean, that Pokémon worked on his command and it's his Pokémon!' Clement said, he also felt confused at Ash. Ash spotted Tyson sitting down, alone, with everyone giving him bad looks.

'You guys go back to our room, I'm just gonna go to the toilet' Ash said.

'Oh Ash... your such a terrible liar,' Serena said, 'tell us the truth!' Serena said in a rather demanding tone, Ash hesitated at first but he knew he could trust them after they had his back from the trouble in his past.

'Okay fine, I know that Pokémon wasn't his, and I know whose Pokémon it is,' Ash began to say, he didn't want to hear the shocked reactions and to make Serena really worried. There was a silence in the group, they all looked at Ash. Ash saw Lysandre lurking in the corner, his scar started irritating Ash, 'Oh just piss off!' Ash shouted and clutched his scar in pain.

'Ash are you okay!' Serena said desperately. She grabbed Ash's hand and looked at him.

'That's all I can say for now, please I need some rest!' Ash said in a hurry.
'I know what's going on Ash, you have to tell them' Zack came up and whispered to Ash. 'I don't want panic Serena!' Ash replied, Zack just shrugged and walked back.

'We meet for the 3rd time today... Ketchum, wasn't that a bit SCAR-ey'
