...You could hear Aaron. You could hear Aphmau.

But you couldn't see them..Why?

Their scents are still around.

Its..Its so cold. So so cold.

"We-We've gotta get outta here...O-Or find a way to make fire or...anything..!" "Yeah..." "HEY! IS ANYONE OUT THERE! PLEASE!"

Aaron..his smell was leaving slowly. So was Aphmaus. But Aarons was quicker.

"A-Aaron...it's dangerous, but I need to go out and get help..!" "N-No.." "I-It's dangerous, I know..But we won't survive long. And Y/n won't wake up--"

You heard a thud.

What was that?

Was that Aaron?

Where did his scent go?

What's going on?

"Aaron! He's ice cold...Aaron! AARON!"

The frantic calling if your mother to your father began to drift away slowly as you fell into another state of deep unconsciousness.

'Dead.'

'She's sleeping, idiot. Her heart is still beating. I can hear that. And I can feel as if she's breathing.'

'So a coma.'

'No.'

'Why the hell are you caring about her anyway? Haven't you been slandering this childs complete stupidity anyway?'

'Who says I care? She just reminds me of...'

'...Don't. You. Dare. Say that.'

'...Whatever I'm just waiting for this mutt of flesh to pass on. She's so stupid its funny. Its the only entertaining thing we can see here.'

'I know right? Then again, she is just a kid.'

'Yeah, but we were more sensesble as kids. Well, I was anyway.'

'Shut up...'

'Make me. This girl...She's just..naive.'

'Naive or not, If I had a chance to kill her i'd take it.'

'Same. Its not like she has any purpose in this world.'

'Just like us?'

'...We're going to get out of here. I swear. We'll use her or anybody here if we gotta.'

'Is what you've been saying a billion times since we got here.'

'I'll make sure we get out of here though. I'm not staying in this place. I'll do what I can so we can leave.'

'Whatever....! He's coming back.'

'Keep quiet-'

Your eyes snapped open surprisingly quick.

Huh.

What a weird dream.

You couldn't see, or talk, or move.

Just..hearing voices.

How strange.

You lifted your head up with a yawn, fisting your eyes with one hand.

"Mom? Has the storm..passed.."

Words died on your tongue as a wet, musky smell dirfted into your nose. Like dirt and...kinda like the wolf from before.

Oh!

Similar to your ears and tail when you've been running around all day.

You let your nose do the pointing, standing up on shakey legs.

"What..is...that..." Your nose tapped something...a nose?

"Aaron?" You froze when your eyes opened.

Green emerald eyes stared deep into your E/c ones.

You were nose to nose with a complete stranger.

And she seemed completely unfazed.

Oh, yeah!

"You...You were the one who lead the wolves in that day. They were with you! How did you get here? Why are you here? D-Do you have wolves with you!?"

"...What are you doing." She questioned.

You yelped and surprise and flew back frantically looking around for your parents.

It was then you realized she was actually holding Aaron close to her body while your mother slept closer to the fire, bundled in on herself.

"Did..you start the fire?"

"Yes."

"..And take care of my mom and dad?"

"Yes."

"....Are you a bad guy-?"

"No."

"Oh...okay."

. . .S I L E N C E.

Was this woman seriously not going to tell you her name while staring at you with such unexpressive eyes.

"Your companion."

"Huh!?"

"The F/A. Its right there." You checked your hands and realized Scrouchy was, infact, not in your arms at all.

Keeping your eyes trained on the mystery woman, you slowly eased back to Scrouchy who layed limply on the floor.

"I'm sorry I dropped you, please don't hate me!' You whispeared.

"........"

"That lady saved you?" You gasped.

You turned to the woman, whos gaze was now fixed on the fire instead of your face.

You made your way back to her, cautiously while holding onto Scrouchy. But it would seem even she felt your gaze from across the cave.

"You stare for what."

"Uhhh...We-Well, you are just a random woman who is leaning on my Dad while my Mom is knocked out...An-And I don't know you....And you smell like wet dog."

"...Tell me your name, pup."

"Pup? Hey lady, I know I have ear n' tail but calling me Pup is kind of offensive. Anyway, my name is Y/n. What's yours?"

"...You and your father. You're the two who took care of that wolf pup." "Yeah, that was us. Hey wait, how did you know that--" "Thank you."

"Oh," You looked down and began to fiddle with your hoodie strings, "Uhm...Yo-You're welcome!"

"Are you still cold? Stay by the fire. You'll want to keep your body tempature up."

"Okay?"

You sat at arms length from the woman who had yet to tell you her name, staring at your mother.

"Why'd you lead the wolves to us that day?"

She didn't answer.

And you would've pushed had it not been for Aphmau quietly groaning awake.

"Mom..!" You called, sitting beside Aphmau and paitently waiting for her eyes to open.

When they slowly did, the first thing you did was hug her.

"Mom!" You cheered, tail wagging furiously. "Fire..Y/n? I-I'm alive. But..how? My head..." Aphmau groaned, holding one hand to hold you and the other to press her hand against her own.

"She helped you guys!" You pointed.

Aphmau turned  her head and flinched back in surprise at the woman keeping Aaron warm. She held you away protectively out of instinct.

"Whoa--! Y/n....? Whoooo is this?" "I dunno. All I know is that she let wolves into the lodge without our knowledge."

"What!?"

"Quiet," The woman snapped, "You'll wake him."

"Uhm...Uhh...Tha-That's my boyfriend. Sooo..." "...Are you seriously jealous right now?" You scoffed, letting go of Aphmau to give her a look of shame.

Your statement elicted a blush from Aphmau who still kept her eyes on the woman.

"This isn't not a boy. It's a man." You tilted your head, "What?"

"I-I know that. Ahem...What I meant to say was, what are you doing to him?" Aphmau pouted slightly, causing the woman to sweat with slight nerves.

"She's keeping him warm, obviously." "Really?" "Yeah! The body is the best way to warm someone. Alex told me so!" "Sometimes, I regret putting you in school." Aphmau laughed, giving your hesd a rub down.

"Hey-!" You giggled.

"Why would you regret making your daughter so intelligent. She is correct. I am keeping him warm. He was out cold. Just as your pup was when I came in and saw her. Any longer, and they both would've died."

"She's the one that saved you and Aaron."

"Ah."

"I saved him. I only saved your mother because she had his scent, so I did the same for her as well. He...He needed me. He needed my body heat. As did you, small one."

She did have a point.

She was very warm.

Aphmau began to stand with a small scowl on her face now.

Uh-oh.

She was irritated for sure.

"Uhm, I'm sure his body can do that without-" "Why are you so tense?" "Tense!?" "Mom, calm down-" "Your stance. It seems hostile toward me."

"Uhm....we-well...My boyfriend is--Uh...Urgh-!" Aphmau growled.

You rolled your eyes and turned to face the woman, "She's jealous cause you've got Aaron on her intead of herself. Which is a little immature if you ask me."

"Y-Y/n!" "What? You wouldn't say it so someone had too." "Please, let him rest. For now, that's what he needs." She sighed.

"Mm...Fine. Okay. Just...Is he going to be okay?" "I believe so. He just needs to stay close to me."

"You're lucky I care about him more than anything else right now..." Aphmau growled, making you look up at her. You shook your head in shame, "Mom, she's just keeping him alive."

"I know that Y/n...Just, please, as long as he's safe." "That switch up was crazy, Mom." "Y/n!" "Hehe, just sayin'." You both stopped your small squabble when hearing the woman sniff Aaron...for some reason.

Though, you're not allowed to judge.

You sniff people all the time.

"He lasted for a long time the way he is." "The way he is?" "What does that mean?" You and Aphmau questioned.

"Shhh...Lets allow him to rest in peace." You watched as Aphmau scoffed, reaching up to hold her hand.

"Her touch means nothing. She's just keeping Dad safe. Don't be mad Mom. We just...gotta wait." Aphmau sighed,

"Alright. I'll...leave her be."

"Good. Wanna play a game?"

Aphmau would've denied had it not been for the smile on your face. You've been through a lot lately. A small game wouldn't hurt.

"Yeah, okay."
