Serena continued to train with Calem, passing the time, and learning as much as she could. This new world had started to feel... normal.

Sometimes she would even forget she had loved a normal life before. Sometimes. Then she would relapse, every memory stabbing into her at once. Tears would well up in her eyes, as every inch of her being wanted to go back.

Serena didn't want to let Bonnie see her like that, but it was inevitable she would. It was a rainy night, and Serena had to go inside from the stadium before getting soaked.  She laid her head down by Bonnie, and then the tears came.

"I'm sorry" was all she could say.

Bonnie sat up, groggily opening her eyes.

"You can be a real idiot, you know..."

Her feet pounded the ground below, as beams of energy flew overhead. She could not imagine bringing her Pokemon out into this environment, but it may be necessary.

Serena thought back to the events that brought her here.

It seemed like years ago, and truthfully it was. Everything seemed ruined, but she was sure that things would sort themselves out. Ash would save the day like always.

When the nightmare continued, she had no idea what to do.

That was why, when her one connection to that lost life asked her to do something, it became her purpose.

"Stop worrying about me," Bonnie said to a tear stained Serena "Yes, you care about me, but you can't risk losing even more. You have to help Ash!"

So here she was, racing across a snowy field. Primitive weapons fired from up ahead, as weak Pokemon attacks responded from behind her.

It was a relatively barren area, which was probably why the resistance chose it for the attack.

Something large landed behind her, kicking up a cloud of dust. Then, it exploded.

Serena was sent flying. She landed on her side, as something rolled into view in front of her.

A pokeball... Of course!

She wasn't alone. How could she be so dumb as to think that. She would always have her pokemon.

Serena thought back to the crazy string of events that lead her up to this point.

Callum had told her of plans to attack the Sato Empire. He and his turtwig were to be on the front lines.

It seemed like a crazed suicide mission, but what she was about to do was even more insane.

She snuck onto one of the trucks that they were preparing for battle, hiding herself under a blanket of various supplies.

She was going to cross the battle lines and find Ash.

Standing up, she brushed off the snow and picked up her pokeballs.

Serena threw them forward, releasing the creatures inside.

Another large projectile cane hurling towards her, but before it could reach the ground her pangoro swiped it away with is massive paw.

She continued forward, now backed with the power of her pokemon.

Nothing could stand in her way as she cut a path through enemy lines. Each pokemon's attack made the weapons of both sides seem tiny in comparison.

By losing the strong bonds between trainer and pokemon, both sides lost enormous amounts of power.

Serena had now broken through the battle line of the Sato Empire, and began her march towards whatever was their main base of operations.

Slowly, things started to sink in. How would she ever be able to shake this attention she had brought upon herself.

She had to think fast, as the enemy troops began to surround her.

"Everyone!" She commanded to her pokemon "Use your attacks on the ground!"

A massive cloud of snow and dirt flew up into the air, as Serena quickly recalled all of her pokemon.

Laying down as flat as possible, she pulled rubble up on top of her body, trying to disappear out of sight.

When the dust finally settled, she clenched her muscles and hoped for the best. Seven seconds later and the battle continued on without her.

Soldiers ran to reclaim the area that she had taken over, but none of them noticed her as they ran past.

She waited what seemed like hours, before finally slowly getting up behind the Sato Empires man defense line, and creeping her way to cover.
