Happy merMAY! I've always wanted to participate in this event so for the special month, I got involved. If you've never heard of it, mermay is pretty simply where we focus on mermaids and mermen for the month of May.

I wanted to make my mermaid galaxy themed so that I could enter it in a contest. SpiderPrincess, this is my entry for your galaxy-themed contest. I hope you like it!

If you looked at the materials list, you may have noticed that I used something new for this piece... Watercolors! I've been practicing with this new medium for a month or two, ever since I got them for my birthday, and I was finally brave enough to try them on real paper. Getting the galaxy effect was difficult, but I hope it came out okay. It's my first time guys; I tried! If you have any tips for working with watercolor paints, I would love to hear them. Thank you!
