It was moments like this where Mandy found a piece of tranquility in her life that set her to a challenge, a direction, but she should've been used to that. Her eyes glistened and open wide like saucers, but only so with wonder and peace, all had come to her now in her own world. There was no need for any other doll in her life at this rate. Her heart raced as she took a step towards the light, her body and mind being agitated and her heart ran the same pace as one would at an intense game of football or competition; too late to go back now, it was all so sudden.

As her heart and body came to a stop in agitation, her heart grew dark. Not in the way in which a heart turns cold and cannot feel anymore, but more or so that she feels that at some point the regrets she had in her past life would come at her together, all at once, and pang her in the spine. Suddenly her body felt stiff, it could've been from the darkened heart, but it was from the new form she took in this new world. Mandy, being the star student she was literally built to be, began to analyze her surroundings very subtly. But she turned her preferable vision back to the beautiful child in front of her that became her short-lived destiny. The scent was like honey, the smile of this child brought so much more love and hope into her heart she forgot it was darkened. She only longed for a moment like this, no one, but she could resist the feeling of love and purity to reform her old self.

"Is this for me, Mommy?" The little girl beamed her smile with precious as she was only getting the first tooth to grow. She had long hair, almost rose, but her hair was red, her skin was pale and rough. Her destiny happened to be out in the cold, one thing Many had to learn to stick to.

"Well, it certainly has your name on it, love." Her mother spoke, her tone and voice was so soft and made her seem so delicate. It seems as her heart is already pure from her perspective. But Mandy was a doll, what more did she know? Well, a lot actually.

"Oh, I love her, mommy! What's her name?!" The girl beamed once again. Mandy began to note how there were definitely some significant differences between the two girls. For one, Mandy could be less conceited but more selfless. She was quiet but had a lot of opinions. This girl does not seem afraid at all to voice her opinions. Her voice was so sweet and bright, but her tone could also be confident and headstrong. It told Mandy that this young girl had the potential to be a leader one day. That is if her own dark side doesn't take over like every other for insecurity. It was an enemy to all, Mandy knew all to well about insecurity and guilt. It seemed to be apart of her, which she didn't want.

"Why don't you look at the tag on her arm, Tanya?" Her mother spoke softly. So that was her name...

She began to notice her surroundings more as her body weight had been shifted to her side against the little girl's palm. She felt a warmth, one that people had an ability to control. Mandy felt more than one type of warmth, the fire didn't seem to overcome it either.

"It says-" The Tanya squints her eyes. Her pupils dilated, making her seem more innocent. "Mandy." She finished with a smile.

"Yeah, he totally forgot to text me back!" Tanya exclaims. Times changed so fast for a doll. It had only been a few weeks until Tanya had grown up too early. Mandy sat on the satin and silk bed. She knew her child was wealthy. She felt as if her child was secure. But the darkness in her heart grew back to her again. She knew that this was coming. She held in a sigh, trying not to blow her own cover. Mandy moved slightly, her head turning towards Tanya. The young girl she once knew was taller and became leaner, she definitely matured overtime as she hardly paid attention to Mandy. The light in her eyes began to diminish day by day. For the first time in a while, Mandy had begun to understand how Tanya felt.

"Oh, dolls? Ha! Come on Trace, you know I don't play with those anymore."

A sudden pang in Mandy's heart, shattering her heart in two. She tried not to lose control, controlling her breathing due to her heart beating faster and its highest rate, or just enough to even stay alive. The trauma crawled back into Mandy. She had never felt this feeling for a while. Being abandoned, left alone in the dark. Her eyes slowly turned towards Tanya, seeing that she was clearly focused on her conversation with another friend, she decided it was best to flee now before she got too attached and would never get to leave. She slowly and swiftly moved off her bed, and runs quietly out the door.

She paused for a moment. Her heart slowed this time, instead of racing at it's highest rate. A sudden force slightly held her back, told her to stay a little longer. Her desperation drove her to hold herself back. The hope she still had in her heart for this life was unbearable. She exhaled and shook her head, knowing that this would have to be the one time where she would walk away from her light, but towards the right direction.

The light that had guided her hopeful heart here had returned to her vision again, as she jumped into the portal, and took her doll, abandoned body back to her own civilization.

-----------------------------------------~~~~~~~~~~~-------------------------------------------

"After that, I guess I never really thought about it when I was with you." Mandy finished. Her tears in her eyes showed that the pain was simply too much for her. The feeling of abandonment was just a sad reminder of the life she lived thinking it was true, but in reality turned to lie to her, making her miserable. Lou saw through her misguided eyes, his eyes never left her eyes. This, despite the fact that she was looking down, refraining the tears from spilling out.

"You know I say this with love, Mandy. You really should've told me" Lou spoke softly, but seriously. Lou can have his egotistical moments around anyone he can, but he knows to well that this was not one of those times.

"I know..." Mandy admitted looking down in shame. She took her glasses, swiping her fingers underneath her eyes. Her hand was seen to be covered in a black substance. She had groaned slightly. 'I've been wearing makeup this entire time, yet I've ended up sobbing, and now I look gross. In front of my boyfriend as well. Wonderful.' Mandy thought, her eyes scanned their way towards Lou, who only shook his head at her, still not breaking eye contact. This was his way of saying: 'It doesn't matter, Don't worry.' Mandy knew she shouldn't have been shocked that she was so easy to read, but amazed at how Lou knew her so well. Mandy's heart sank slightly below the water, she slouched and nodded her head gloomily.

"Come here." Lou took her in his arms. Instead of getting Mandy to cry in his chest, he thought of a more calming and serene method. He took his hands and placed them on her petite shoulders. She was then rotated slightly, and her back was against his perfectly built chest. She closed her eyes in delight as she felt a calming warmth against her back return to her once again. She had recalled the wondrous feeling before but she can never remember when. Something tells her she doesn't want to remember when she ever felt like that. Back then she would've felt scared to be abandoned, but now, she was certain that there is a longing light for her in this world. Lou was involved in her light, but she couldn't recall how to handle the new light.

She sighed as his strong arms wrapped firmly around her slim waist, in which she responded to by wrapping her arms over his. His heartbeat became one with hers, in some ways her heartbeat was something that always let her give in to the dark. It seemed as though the darkness in her life was the least of her problems. Like all of those worries would never be felt again.

"I'm sorry for not telling you. I was stupid and wrong."

"Okay, don't say that. Mandy, you were not stupid or wrong. You just didn't think clearly. You aren't exactly all to blame either."

"What?"

"Well I was never exactly observant of you. You're much more than a friend, or a best friend. I could never be the reason that you do something so drastic it could hurt you." Mandy smiled at his acknowledgment of his mistake. A man isn't a man if he can't open up about how he feels.

"So-" He kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry too, beautiful."

Mandy suddenly tensed and the unexpected tease. Lou chuckled, loving her even more.
