When we're back to Nimbasa City, we try out the Battle Institute, which is a place near the Pokemon Center. The ace trainer says, "The Battle Test...This woman of mystery will show you the ropes. Battle effectively, and keep your Pokemon from fainting!"

Then we try to take on the challenge. The rule is that I can pick Single or Double Battles, and all Pokemon will be set to Level 50. We will battle 5 trainers and the referee will be the judge. It turns out that there is a scoring system so I can get a score.

Once we're done, I find that my score is 6 stars with a score of 5769. I say, "That's it? Not a seven-star?"

"Between -0 and -100 points per battle depending on how much HP your Pokémon are missing at the end of the battle, as a percentage (rounded down) of the combined maximum HP of all team members. Then you also -2 for using not very effective moves." Eve says.

"I guess that's fair." I sigh while getting the Carbos and leave the place.

Now we are in Driftveil City, and we have decided to explore the Clay Tunnel, which is now open for us to move. But the reason why we come to Driftveil is because we hear that Klink has a new evolution.

"Really? It's just some cookies?" We sad to learn that it is not real, but while we buy some when entering the Clay Tunnel, we notice a lot of holes. "This looks like a maze..."

"Yeah." Then we hear some strange sounds and we find that there are some Durants there. "Durants!" Alice says.

"Looks like there are Durant nests around here." Iris says. When they try to attack us, I have Pikachu trap them with Electro Web. But there are so many as we try to run, as we try to run the other direction, we find some Heatmor.

"Heatmors as well?" Golly asks.

"Heatmor usually lives in Twist Mountain... and Heatmor preys on Durant!" Eve says.

We watch how the battle is going, and much to our surprise, we find a Durant and a Heatmor. "Wait, why are you two here?"

They reveal that they don't want to fight and want to be captured by us, so Alice and I capture them each.

Heatmor: The Anteater Pokemon: Fire Type. Using their very hot, flame-covered tongues, they burn through Durant's steel bodies and consume their insides.

Durant: The Iron Ant Pokemon: Bug and Steel Type. They attack in groups, covering themselves in steel armor to protect themselves from Heatmor.

"So where are we right now?" Alice asks as we look around. I say, "Wait, isn't this Mistralton Cave?"

Iris says, "You're right."

We decide to head back inside, and we try to move in another direction. We end up in some sort of ruins. "What is going on with this door?" Golly asks.

"It leads to a different place depending on whether the sun is out or not..." I say while reading the words on the wall, "Chamber of the one that joins the sun in protecting this place. Two answers are needed to find the true path. Courageous one, let me tell you the answer I know. Check the ground six steps down and ● steps right of the eyeball. The other answer can only be found when the moon is in the sky. The world is split into two: day and night...black and white... The protectors were born out of rock, ice, and magma..."

Alice says, "That means Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, right? We've already had those three..."

"Yeah, let's give those to other people instead." I sigh as we leave, and we are now at Twist Mountain. Alice manages to capture a Cryogonal there.

Cryogonal: The Crystalizing Pokemon: Ice Type. When its body temperature goes up, it turns into steam and vanishes. When its temperature lowers, it returns to ice.

After leaving the mountain, we decide to head back to Undella Town. Hugh is there and he says, "What?! It isn't like I came here because I heard rumors about Cynthia being here and I wanted to challenge her or anything... I was interested in the Abyssal Ruins! See! Here's proof! You can have it!"

He gives Golly the HM for Dive, and he says, "It's Dive! If you have a Pokémon that knows it, you can dive to the ocean floor. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have found my sister's Purrloin... Or should I say her Liepard..."

"I see." Then we decide to have another battle, which ends up my victory. Hugh says, "This bitter...yet refreshing feeling. I'm really glad you're my friend!"

It is also then we meet up with my Dad, who has been staying at Cynthia's villa. I ask, "Dad? What are you doing here?"

"Hello to you again, after the incident with Team Rocket, Cynthia has asked me to help with the research of the Abyssal Ruins." My Dad says.

"The Abyssal Ruins..." We mutter as we know that place is Giovanni's death place. My Dad says, "If you want to check it out, here are the papers."

We take the papers and my Dad says, "Just to make sure you know, you reach the Abyssal Ruins by using Dive in Undella Bay. And you must write down the ciphers you find in the Abyssal Ruins yourself."

After we dive into the Abyssal Ruins, we find a lot of Relic treasures there. Relic Gold, Relic Silver, Relic Cooper, Relic Statues, Relic Vase, and even in the end, the Relic Crown.

Once we manage to get them out of the ruins, we show them to Cynthia and my Dad. "Amazing... to think there are a lot of treasures there."

"And it is quite weird that Team Rocket wasn't there to steal them from us..." Alice says. "That reminds me, what have you done to Jessie and James?"

"I might have used Judgement on them, but in the last second, I teleported them away while erasing the memories of Team Rocket. All they remember now is what they used to do before joining Team Rocket, after all, they have talents, only to be used in the wrong way."

"And what about Meowth?" Golly asks. My Dad says, "Meowth's memories have been rewritten, and now he's staying in the ranch with the other Pokemon, believing to be Ash's Pokemon ever since they first met."

Then we head to the Strange House, and we find Shauntel there. "There is one man who wanders the world with a white dragon Pokémon to search for truth..." That's part of a novel I'm writing. I want to write down the event that happened on that day... Sorry, it has nothing to do with you... You're Ash Ketchum, right? I'm the Elite Four's Ghost-type Pokémon user, Shauntal, and I shall be your opponent."

"That's great to know, and you're also a novelist, right? Is it possible that we can read some of your books after the battle?" I ask.

"Why of course." Shauntel says. But we have our battle first and it is a five-on-five. Shauntal sends out Cofagrigus first, and I send out Absol. When Absol hits Cofagrigus with a Night Slash, suddenly, he is trapped in bandages.

"Damn it... the Mummy Ability..." I say. "I mean, Cofagrigus only has that ability. How do I always forgot?"

"You know what, first impressions are everything, now time to end this with a Shadow Ball."

After getting hit by the Shadow Ball, Absol takes a lot of damage and then faints in the end. I decide to go with Emolga next. Emolga goes for Acrobatics, which also turns into a mummy as well. But Emolga manages to use Discharge to knock Cofagrigus out of the battle.

Drifblim is Shauntal's second Pokemon, and it tries to use Thunderbolt, but my Emolga has the Motor Drive as its ability, which also boosts the speed. "Now use that speed to Nuzzle!"

The Nuzzle causes Drifblim to be paralyzed, but it is still using Psychic to hit Emolga and slam it to the ground. Emolga goes for Acrobatics one more and defeats the Drifblim. I'm also glad that its ability is not Aftermath.

The third Pokemon is Golurk, which prevents Emolga from using Electric moves. I try to have it use Acrobatics again, but it is hit by Shadow Punch, and then a Heavy Slam knocks Emolga out of battle.

I decide to use my own Golurk to battle, and both Pokemon keep using Shadow Punches, since it never misses. It is before I land the final Shadow Punch on him, Shauntal has Golurk uses Curse to give my own a lot of damage.

"This is bad... Curse is going to deal damage every turn..." Cilan says.

Banette is Shauntal's fourth Pokemon, and Banette goes for Sucker Punch before I can have Golurk attack, and Golurk faints after the Curse. I decide to switch to Bisharp. Bisharp takes some burn damage because of Will-o-Wisp, but a Night Slash defeats Banette in the end.

"It's not over yet! I'll finish it my way! Chandelure! You're my hope!" The final Pokemon is Chandelure, and with the burn effect on the field, Bisharp continues to take damage, and then it is defeated by Fire Blast.

"Well Ash, I hope for a good ending! I hate endings that leave a bitter taste in one's mouth!"

"I will. Chandelure, I choose you!" I say.

Two Chandelure uses Fire attacks and Ghost attacks to battle each other, but my Chandelure wins eventually after a Dark Pulse knocks it out.

"Do you ever feel at a loss for words when something greatly moves you? To tell the truth... I'm a writer, but right now I'm having trouble putting my feelings into words. You were just that impressive!" Shauntal says.

"Um... thanks?" I say as I receive the Ghost Medal from Shauntal.

"Fortitude is needed if you're going to battle, don't you think? Because both you and your opponent get hurt. But if you don't understand the pain, you'll focus on the result and forget about the bonds with your Pokémon. That's why I want to write passages full of heart and soul in my novels."

Then we ask to read some stories, and we also stumble across one with the Michina. Reisa says, "Wow, there is also a book about you."

"Yeah... but how is it possible?" I ask.

"Well, I was at Michina for ideas of a new story, then I see the whole event in front of my eyes." Shauntal says.

I blush a little and say, "Um...I hope everyone believes it as a fiction."

"Of course, no one will think that Ash is the same Ash in the real world." Alice says to me.

Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, you can see that Ash wins against the second Elite Four member. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be the third Elite Four.
