Backstory

Akio grew up in the poor parts of Ba Sing Se. At 8 years old, their family moved to Republic City. At 14 years old, his parents had his twin siblings, who he is extremely close with.

But, like many others, he developed airbending abilities when the Harmonic Convergence occurred. Akio and their family kept it secret, not wanting Akio to be taken to Air Temple Island. His cousin, however, sold him out and he was eventually persuaded to move to Air Temple Island.

Akio hates their cousin for what she did, and hates Tenzin for taking him away from his family. But eventually, he starts to grow closer to Tenzin and views him as a father figure.

Bending

Air bender. he is trying to achieve spiritual projection, but has so far been unsuccessful. Jinora is privately tutoring him on it.
