Movement: When the shaking of molecules increases, so does heat. If the molecules were not moving, it would be known as absolute zero.

Sorrel ran down the storm-blown hill. She felt fear, although she had no clue why. Around her thunder shook, and people were running alongside her. From the storm emerged the enemy. A group of men with guns. They shot into the people on Sorrel's side, and the battle was real. Sorrel felt confused. Why was she here? Then the most beautiful eagle she'd ever seen came down from the darkness and flew down into the crowd of enemies. Then another eagle came down and settled near her.

"Sorrel... Stop." And she sat upright in bed. Today was the first day of the new school year, which normally made her exited. Sorrel got out of bed and got dressed. When she came downstairs her heartbeat had calmed considerably, and she was wearing a pair of blue shorts and green shirt.

"Morning!" Sorrel's dad yelled. Sorrel smiled and made herself a bowl of cereal.

"Whats for lunch today?" She asked.

"Here." Corbin gave her her lunch. Sorrel continued to eat, worried about school.

"It will be fine, Sorrel." He comforted her.

"Alright." Sorrel said, and got her backpack. "See you after school dad!" Willow Middle school was a public school from grade six to grade eight. It wasn't exactly the most clean, or had the best lay out, but the location, teachers and students were amazing. Willow was only half a mile from Sorrel's house on Swan drive, so she was able to walk. The school was small, and mostly served the kids that lived out in the country, so it felt more like a private school.

"You ready?" Cassia asked as she joined up with Sorrel on Elm street.

"Not really." Replied Sorrel.

"I love school, but I feel like Atom will get in the way." Atom had become there official codename for the magic. Cassia nodded.

"You have your book?" Sorrel nodded. In her backpack was the Molecule Book, filled with notes and dog eared pages. The pair came up to the school, and walked into the entrance. They walked down to the science wing, where the seventh grade lockers were. Sorrel and Cassia separated. Cassia's last name was Alpa, so she had one of the first locker. and Sorrel, her last name being Wood, had one of the last lockers. Number 235. Sorrel opened the locker and put most of her books in, taking out the ones she'd need for math.

"You ready?" Cassia asked.

"As ever." Sorrel closed the locker and walked with Cassia to band. They passed the M-wing, where a sign said "Danger. Slipping." But Ivan was reading a book and was walking right towards it.

"Ivan!" Sorrel yelled, but he was too far away. Panicked, Cassia stretched out into the patch of wet floor. She commanded the molecules to move faster, and faster, until it rose as stream into the air. Sorrel gasped, and Cassia pulled her into the math room.

"We'll talk later." Cassia said, and the went to get her math book. Cassia played the french horn, while Sorrel played percussion. Sorrel grabbed her book and began to flip through it, seeing what they would learn. Mrs. Cara came in, and smiled at Sorrel.

"Hello. You ready for this year?" She asked.

"Yep!" Sorrel shoved her fears into a box and smiled. Corbin and Jordie came in, grabbing the new math textbooks, and came up to here.

"Hey guys!" Sorrel said and smiled.

"HELLLOOOO!" Corbin yelled. Sorrel smiled and started to do the warm-up. For now, life was good.
