Wall Aya is the first and largest Wall amongst the three Walls that protected humanity for over two hundred years. It served as mankind's first line of defense against the Alpacas.

Home to more than two million people, Wall Aya is known to be an economic region home to the middle class and many professionals. Most of the resources here are food, forage, and agriculture. It also served as the first Headquarters for the Love Live Scouting Legion.

The Wall has four walled cities or Districts:

1. Akihabara - southern District. It is the first city to fall and where the Alpacas began their invasion. Former residents include Nico, Rin, Hanayo, etc.

2. Shizuoka - western District known for being a center of the arts. Also where an important meeting between Saints Aya, Emi, and Suzuko was said to have taken place. Former residents include Saint Aya Minami and Riko Sakurauchi.

3. Kansai - eastern District known for its dialects and economic and spiritual hubs. This is where Nico's parents first met. This is also the hometown of Nozomi Toujou.

4. Akihito - northern District known for it's trees and cold climate. This is the hometown of the Kazuma sisters Leah and Sarah.

Other notable locations:

1. Aki Acre - an area which later became the site where refugees lived. Formerly owned by the previous royal family, the Ayases.

2. Forest of Giant Trees - a tourist spot where the largest trees in the world can be found.

3. Mt. Kanagawa - located at Akihito, it is known to be the tallest mountain so far.

4. Kanto Town - the place where refugees had to gather food. Nico and co. went here.

5. Ayase Estates - the previous royal family, the Ayases, had originally owned some lands for agricultural businesses. One of these lands is called Aki Acre. Stated to be where Eri trained as a soldier since childhood.

6. Nishikino Estates - the influential Nishikino family used to have many estates all over Wall Maria. All of it were lost during the Alpaca invasion.

BACKGROUND

Originally called Wall One, it is renamed after Saint Aya Minami of Shizuoka. She happens to be the great-grandmother of Kotori Minami.

According to a legend, Aya was one of the four heroes that defended Wall One from a horde of Abnormal Alpacas that tried to break into the Wall. She is said to be the woman who called the other three heroes to an important meeting in her hometown Shizuoka - a meeting which discussed what tactics were needed to drive the Alpacas out. It is during this meeting that the first prototype of the 3D Maneuver Gear was presented to her - Aya therefore was one of the first humans to use it.

In honor of her contributions, the outer Wall was renamed in her honor.
