Alice was in the common room talking with Harry,Ginny and others while doing her work.It was getting late and slowly the common room started to get empty with students retiring to bed.Alice,Harry and Ginny were the one's in the table still doing their work when they heard a sound.Alice stopped talking and turned around slowly.

"Some pair making out.."Ginny said smirking.Harry nodded looking back to his book."Maybe..."Alice said and gasped a little."What happened?"Harry asked.Ginny and Harry followed her gaze and looked quite stunned themselves.

Ron and Lavender were making out clumsily on the couch in the dark corner of the common room.Ginny,Harry and Alice had hated Ron as he failed to understand Hermione from the day her house was changed.He saw her as an alien and barely spoke with her.The three tried to make him under stand but all their efforts were in vain.So they had started distancing themselves from Ron.

And for one thing,they hated Lavender too as she saw Hermoine as an Enemy too and fed Ron lies about her.

"Can i please leave this place?"Harry asked frowning.Ginny nodded gritting her teeth."Come on guys.Let's ignore them"Alice said continuing to write in her parchment.They heard whispers after a few minutes.

"Won-won..will you go to the Ball with me?"
"Of course i will lav-lav"

And then they made out again.

Ginny rolled her eyes clenching the parchment in her hand.Harry made a gagging face and continued his work.After a few minutes Ron and Lavender left leaving the trio alone."I can't believe Ron is going with..Lavender.."Ginny said.her quill racing on the parchment.Harry shrugged.

"Maybe they..love eachother.."Alice offered that made Ginny more pissed off.Then Alice turned to Harry"So..Mr Prefect..with whom are you going with to the ball?"There was silence.

"Uh...not decided yet.."he said not looking up from his parchment.Alice turned to Ginny who seemed to.be interested in The fire crackling nearby."What about you Gin?"She shrugged"None yet"she said not looking at her.

There was silence in the room and Harry cleared his throat.Both the girls looked at him.

"So..uh Ginny...seeing both of us are..date less..for the ball.."he started scratching the backside of his neck a little.Alice suppressed an all knowing smile while Ginny's eyes were glued to Harry.

"Would you...want to..go..to the ball..with..me?"

There was silence.Ginny's face became red and matched the colour of her hair."Uh..sure.."she said in a voice that was barely audible."Um..ok.."Harry said staring back at his quill."uh..I'm going to bed"Ginny said and left.Soon Alice grinned at Harry.

"Wh-what..?"Harry asked her.Alice winked"Plan success huh?"she asked.Harry blushed and took his books standing up."I..it's nothing..good night"he said and walked inside the boys dorms.

Alice chuckled and took her books and went upstairs.As usual many girls had sneaked out to annoy Flich and maybe meet with friends.That left very few people in the girls dorms.The end where Alice's bed was located was almost.empty with Ginny sleeping a little away from her bed.

Alice changed to her night dress and got into bed.She was happy that Ginny was going with Harry...more happy that Draco was going with Hermione.But..she wasn't going with anyone.No one had asked her out to the ball.

She sighed turning to face the window near her bed.Maybe she was going to skip the ball after all.She closed her eyes and thought about nothing in particular when the image of a fair,hufflepuff boy with a charming smile passed in her mind.

She quickly opened her eyes her cheeks red."Cedric Diggory"she whispered lightly and stared at the opposite wall.

"Yes?"a voice came.out.

Alice sat up her eyes wide and looked around.There was no one in the room who was awake.And the voice sounded familiar.She looked around and then her eyes were glued to the window sill and she gasped.

"Ce...Cedric?"

Cedirc smirked waving his hand"Heard you call me"he said in his smooth voice.Alice instinctively got out of bed walking towards the window"I mean..well..how did you climb up here?"

"I'm a vampire,sweetheart"he chuckled his golden eyed shining.Alice smiled"Oh yeah that.Why are you here anyway?"."Why did you call me?"he asked.Alice's cheeks turned light pink."I..uh..nothing..no reason"she whispered.He laughed and jumped in sitting on the chair beside her bed"So..it's been a long time since we have met"he said.

She smiled and nodded sitting on her bed.Soon they were talking about many things happening in the forest and at Hogwats.They had a nice time talking with eachother after which Alice told him about the Ball and how Harry had asked Ginny and Draco had asked Hermione.

Alice thought Cedric would feel a bit jealous of Draco as he had feelings for Hermione but she saw that he was actually happy.That surprised her.

"So..whom are you going with?"he asked staring at her.She leaned on the wall.sighing"None..no one asked me..so I'm skipping it"she said.Cedric remained silent for a few minutes."Would you go if anyone asked you?"

Alice looked at him confused a little.Cedric kept his face blank his eyes a little pink

"Alice..will you come to the ball with me?"

Alice's cheeks became red again her lips slightly parted in surprise.She stared at him biting her lower lip a little

"Sure"
