Geography:

Castre is a massive-sized kingdom. It's surrounded by ocean on the north, east and half of the southern coasts. On the southwest side of the land, reaching up the western coast, is a long mountain range referred to as Sibris. The Eastern and Southern ocean is called Pyscre, the northern ocean is called Asyrim.

Castre itself is divided into sections called regions or districts. Each region was governed by a Noble Lord and House, who were all completely loyal to the king.

The north has two regions, Milvake, and Rahnge. Milvake is larger, and takes up the northwestern upper half. Rahnge is considerably smaller, and is contained in the northeasern corner. Both consist of temperatures that don't get too hot or cold. In winter time the lowest temperatures is about forty degrees (F), and in the summer, the highest it usually gets is around seventy-five degrees (F). Because of the constant spring and fall time temperatures, many of the people in these regions, especially those along the northern coast fish, or farm, but both regions thrive with cities in between the beautiful country side.

Outside of the northeastern region, Rahnge, the eastern coast is divided into two other regions, Odera and Hallowes. Odera is in the middle of the eastern coast, and Hallowes is in the southeast corner. Odera is mostly thick jungle, but it thrives with various cities on three levels; the jungle floor which is mostly people considered to be "villagers" and "native," the middle, called the understory, is where the middle class citizens of Odera live, usually in small tree house villages. The canopy is where the cities are - vast and beautiful cities made from all sort of wood, expanding to almost the entire size of the jungle. Catwalks and ladders make up for roads and streets. Hallowes, on the other hand, is mostly hills and grasslands. There is a small jungle in the north of Hallowes, but the rest of the region is entirely hills and grass lands. Most of Hallowes consists of farms, though most people here raise horses, cattle, hippogriffs and large cat-like creatures that are a cross between tigers and wolves called tilves that are used in packs either for looks in zoos, or for riding or carrying luggage.

The south, outside of Hallowes in the southeastern corner is one large region called Nighes. Nighes consists of mostly thick forests and beaches along the southern coast, until the mountain range starts in the southwest. People along the coast and beaches are allied with the mermaid tribes that live in the southern part of the Pyscre Ocean. They trade with them, bringing in all sorts of gems, jewels, items, clothing, creatures and treasure, which they in turn sell and trade throughout all of Castre. The entire region has all four seasons, though summers are very mild, and temperatures never get any higher than sixty degrees (F). In the north of Nighes, along the border between it and the western coast region, is a monastery. The monks there are known for healing and helping out people from all across the world.

The western coast is all one region, called Demarke. It snows here, and is constantly cold. Even in summer time, temperatures only  reach up to thirty-five degrees (F). A few people cell ice, others climb into the mountain ranges and go on adventures for money. Despite the temperatures here, the cities are large and massive in size, and impressive to all who visit here.

The center of Castre is the center region called Elloyn. Here, is the only place in Castre that has all four seasons with normal temperatures for each one. Cities are large and numerous, and many of the places here are extravagant and elegant. The capital of Castre, Komesen, lies in the center of Elloyn.

Creatures of Castre:

Because magic exists in this world, regular animals aren't the only creatures that exist. Any type of mytholigcal creature that you can think of, good or evil, roams all the regions of Castre. (Even creatures you want to make up and add to your tributes history, feel free).

History:

Ten years ago, before the war started, the kingdom thrived under the rule of its king, King Leoron III. For generations, his forefathers had ruled the kingdom in peace. There had been a few civil wars in the time of his grandfather, and over the years Castre had been invaded by its neighbors, but both were conflicts long past.

Until Vaxon Asherex came along. Vaxon was originally from the region of Demarke, and served as a high Noble in the royal court. For years he served King Leoron loyally, though he was secretly planning and plotting to overthrow him. Vaxon used the loyalty of his men who served under him in the army, as as well as the loyalty of many from Demarke to plan a coup. He allied with Castre's enemies beyond the Sibris mountains. One fateful night, he assassinated Leoron and his wife and family and slaughtered many in the palace and in Komesen. He knew he didn't have enough men in his army to hold the captial, so he traveled to Demarke where he knew he would be stronger. From there, he waged war on the land of Castre, and with Leoron's young fifteen-year-old son on the throne, it wasn't long before Vaxon had finally been able to siege Komesen and take over Castre.

Throughout the war, Vaxon slaughtered Leoron's army of Magi. In northern Milvake, the Magi College, run by a powerful Magi known as Mathas, discovered that the Magi army was failing and dying. He took his students and fled just before the College was sieged and destroyed. During the war, he traveled with his students, training them in magic as quickly as he could, though many of them were children and quite young. Once Vaxon took the capital, he used spies and traitor Magi who betrayed Mathas and captured him. Luckily, Mathas had sent 32 of his most trusted and powerful Magi away to safety, keeping them out of Vaxon's reach.

For ten years Vaxon searched for the heroes, the last of the Magi, the last ones who have the power to defeat him. It wasn't until days ago that he finally caught them. Now, to make them pay for eluding him all those years, he will throw them into the arena and make them fight to the death.

Now that you know everything there is to know about Castre, its history, the story and magic, you can start thinking of what you want your tribute to be. Keep in mind that just because they live in a region, for instance Hallowes, it doesn't necessary mean your tribute has to be a farmer. All of the regions still have normal people with normal lives, just nothing in Castre is modern.

Because you were one of Mathas' students, you could have lived in other regions and then traveled to the college, or have been there with your parents, but after the war started, Mathas took his students and fled to try to stay out of Vaxon's clutches.
