Avni was just composing herself when she saw the time and scolded herself for forgetting priya's surgery.

She literally didn't even cared about her look just stood up and ran towards the hospital entrance in order to reach the ward asap.

When one has already a bad day things only get added on rather then reducing. She got bumped to Ashish Mehta.

Instantly on the reflexes both were gonna say sorry until they saw each others face.

Avni stood silent as if giving uninterested look whereas the certain Mehta was cleaning his clothes.

Ashish- lagta hai abhi bhi baat samajh me nhi aati tumhe ..... Tum nhi jaanti ki is baar uljhogi to tabah ho jaogi.

Avni-aur aap ye nhi jaante ki is baar mein vo choti si Avni nhi hu jo sab kuch handle kar legi. Ye hospital, ye white coat meri jaan se bhi jyaada pyaara hai mujhe...agar aapne ya aapki maa ne koshish bhi ki mere life mein ya phir unki jo mere saath hai usme interfere karne ki to.....

Ashish-bol lo!! Akhir aur kar bhi kya sakti ho. Barson pehle samjhaya tha meine ki pehle apno ke liye jio aur phir dusro ke liye lekin na tumhe vo baat samjhi na hi koi aur. Ab to tum maa ke saamne khadi hogi aur vo tumhe chodegi nhi.

Avni-(smirks) aakhir bata hi dia na aapne ki aap bhi apne maa ke haatho ki katputli hai....maa ye , maa vo.....itna andhe ho gye ki ye bhul gye ki jo khadi hai vo aapki beti hai....Raat ko kaise neend aati hogi? Jara sa bhi guilt nhi hai na ki mere saath Jo hua vo ya age Jo hoga usme bas audience ki tarah tamasha dekhoge? Aap hi ki beti hu na ya phir...

Ashish was so infuriated that he raised his hand to slap.

Ashish- Avni.....! Kaun bada hai kaun chota sab bhul gyi ho. Ye to lehaaz rakh lo ki baap hu tumhara.

Avni- ruk kyu gye , mariye na aur kar bhi kya sakte ho. Apne paas koi jawaab nhi hai isiliye apne zor se saamne wale ko chup karna ye hi sikhaya hai na unhone.

Ashish-maa ko bich mein mat lao.

Avni-(in audible voice) Accha to kise lau, mein to ayi bhi nhi thi na phir aap kyu aa gye yaha. Meri shanti hazam nhi hui kya?

Ashish-(composing self) vo to waqt batayega avni kyunki ab ya to tum toot jaogi ya phir tabah.....

Avni was shivering and also sweating. Yes, he was her dad but also was the one to torture her hence the tears and fears. She would have stood silent but now she knew that they are here only to trouble her and also to interfere in neela's and Ali's life which she won't allow. She has to fight him and dwm. This was just a trailer but the mere few minutes made her shiver and tremble.

She composed herself again and exhaled the air to have a grip on her. With that she left towards the children ward.

On entering she saw that the childrens were standing against a bed in a circle and crowding just like when she was there. Approaching near she saw that it was priya's ward and she was sitting in Neil's lap.

She knew that Neil was not that bad but him showing this care to patients was something that she found astonishing.

Avni-ahem!!((clearing her throat to gain attention)

All the baccha party saw her and smirked. Avni raised her eyebrows but none answered.

Avni-(to Mowgli) kya hua?

Mowgli- panga....

Avni-(as if confused) matlab??

Neil-(keeping Priya on the bed) matlab these kids have came up with a challenge and I thought that they should know that u have a great stamina.

Avni-(looking at Neil with narrow eyes) and y would u like to show my stamina to them...... Tell me all kya khitchdi pakai hai?

Mowgli-(in a childish manner) aree!! Meri gf shant ho jao... vo kya hai na mujhe pata hai na tumhe pav bhaji pasand hai to isiliye humne Yani meine aur ye Mr. Akdu khanna (earning a glare from Neil) aur ye log(points kids) ne challenge lagaya hai ki kaun jyaada khayega vo team jeetegi.

Avni was shocked and looked at Neil accusingly.

Avni- ye to phir bhi bacche hai sir lekin aap? Sab ke saamne ye challenge laga dia .... Inmein se kitne bacche hai jinko allowed nhi hai aur dusro ko bhi kum khaana hai. Seriously sir !? Mujhe samajha rhe the ki be practical aur ab kya hua?

Mowgli- haww!!! Gf I know ki mujhe bhi vo itne hi irritate karte hai aur pasand nhi lekin unhe bhi to chance do bolne ka!! Aise kaise tum volcano banke erupt ho sakti ho.

Avni looked at him with anger and Neil was mentally laughing but soon composed.

Neil-vo actually Priya ko surgery boring lag rhi thi so meine use divert karne ke liye ye sab bola. Mein kuch aur hota to kar let's but tumhe ye pasand hai so thought ki tumhe bol du. Lekin ye Mon....I mean mowgli ne sab bata dia. I can't eat itna isiliye tumhe...

Avni-ok!!(as if understanding) shall we proceed with priya as it is I came late..... M sorry just got occupied with something while coming....shall we go further? I have already asked the nurse to quickly prepare for the surgery and give me 5 mins I will quickly change and come.

Neil-(crosses his hands around chest) done!!? I thought that u won't and it's fine sometimes u can be late as well afterall u are human.....and if u don't mind kisne tumhe occupy kiya tha?

Neil asked carefully in order to not further push her but the distant look of her eyes cleared he pushed the wrong thing.

Neil-u know what let it be let's get ourselves moving.

Saying so he was about move when she said.

Avni-it was Ashish Mehta.(just that and she got engrossed in changing the clothes , gloves and file)

He knew that she was trying her best to come out as sane but somewhere she is still scared to face her own father...

Can that even be possible for a child to be scared to face her own father.

He just thought to kept them aside and go forward for the surgery.

As they both were going to the operation theatre. Just as they were about to enter the OT , they were stopped by the peon.

Peon- Avni didi aapko ye surgery nhi karne milegi.

Avni was first confused and before she can voice it out...

Neil- what the...... Kyu?( I know it's taken from someone but please forgive me for it as I wanted the same reaction)

Peon- vo boards ke order hai....saare junior doctors ko pehle standard quality test dena hoga baad mein hi allow karenge surgeries.( He said with a distant guilt in his voice)

Avni knew that this is what Ashish Mehta was speaking. She just went towards the new cabin with the label of board member. Neil too followed the suit.

Avni just entered the cabin and started to convey her views.

Avni-what's ur problem haan?? Can't u be ur way and let me be on mine? Mujhe vo surgery karne se kaise rok sakti hai aap?
(In a firm voice)

Dwm- oh....(seems shocked) calm down u wild fiesty cat( with distaste) this were the basic rules didn't u heard it during the meet??

Avni-( with an immediate reply) but that didn't meant abondoning us from our work.. we are here before u and also that means that we could be trusted as well. Y taking away our duty for the mere...

Dwm-(raising her voice) well! Seems u don't understand to whom re u having a word with ... It's the board member u r speaking with....if not respect then at least maintain a decency. Unfortunately (smirking) the rules r rules and can't be tamed for mere junior wanting to do her duty. Either u have to wait or we have to take action.

Before she could continue, Neil barged in.

Neil-sorry to disturb u maam but one major problem is that we seniors would need the juniors by our side in any of surgery performed.

Dwm-seems the seniors aren't confident on themselves? Aren't we?

Neil- well! Perhaps to crash ur hope but the main reason here is the personal contact of pateint with the doctor and the juniors are the direct one to maintain the image of our hospital. We might get a better opinion and knowledge about the patient's health status. Plus mostly we are busy with surgeries and who can be the one to help us. I agree with your rules but junior doctors are the most needed at the moment.

Dwm was silent for a while . Even though she wanted to pester Avni about the surgery but she can't just deny the senior doctors. She went away fuming.

Avni sighed and went straight away to the OT not acknowledging the presence of Neil who was not at all expecting a thanks from her.

Shaking his head he went towards the OT.

Soon the surgery was over and the patient was now cured. Both came out removing the mask and gloves. Even after the bad mood she didn't failed to perform her duty and with a cheerful and calming smile assured the parents of the child.

Once done with the assuring she went towards the changing room.

Neil too was coming behind to change. He saw a glimpse of Avni entering the changing room and he to entered the other and quickly changed.

Once done with changing he came out to see that she was already packing her bag.

Neil- uhm!!! Done with the shift??

Avni who was listening to him trying to find her key for the locker without looking at him just nodded.

He glanced at her looking for something.

Neil-kuch dhoondh rhi ho?

Avni- yes!! My key!

Neil-coat mein check kiya?

Then she remembered that she had indeed kept it there.

She thanked him and was about to go when Neil again spoke

Neil-coffee??

Avni-(looked at him and after thinking ) sure.

She didn't knew y she agreed. Of course she had a pounding headache which maybe the reason and one more to add was she badly needs distraction.

Both left the hospital seperately as Avni had insisted and neil too didn't object as he knew that Ali too had a same opinion.

Once in the parking lot, he quickly opened the passenger door for Avni. She was shocked at that gesture but nevertheless sat quietly.

Avni and Neil even though were in the same car but seemed as if they are single and alone.

Neil-so how was the interaction with priya's parents. Hope they are coping up well.

Avni- yea! They are just anyone would be worried in their place even for a while I too was.

Neil- hnm! So which coffee do u like?

Avni- uhm!! Any!

Neil-(confused voice) any??

Avni-(looking at him understanding his confused face) oh!! I really don't like coffees just that today I have a terrible headache and that can help.

Neil-oh! R u ok?

Avni-yea! Have to be!

Neil went silent knowing that she needed tym to figure out things.

Soon they reached a cafe and both went and sat on the table.

Avni and Neil made the orders quick.

Neil- yaha ka surroundings kitna accha hai na?(in order to make a communication)

Avni-hnmm(engrossed in looking her palms)

Neil was now tired of sweetly trying to speak with her but she wasn't so he thought to ..

Neil- what is it? Here I am trying to get u to speak and u engrossed in looking at ur palms. What is ur problem mahn!! U r in problem , u r in pain u push away everyone and that too when they really want to stay with u. R u really the Avni who stays so strong to cross and face her dad when it comes to hospital or u r this.

Where is the Avni I saw when u were with Mowgli, that old male pateint, arjun, and all ur friends.

Avni was silent as she knew that he was confused about her behaviour as he didn't knew who Avni was.

Avni-life's been too adventurous and thrilling for me sir..... perhaps am bit tired to continue it further but don't u worry with a pause I will be back to my self . Just needed tym to contemplate and think about further (still looking at her palms and speaking as if she's speaking with self)

(Sadly chuckles) and when u know that the ride upcoming will be full of struggles and horror .....
U probably think to safeguard ur near ones not try to swipe them away with u.

Neil knew that this was not just of now but she was speaking of her life.

He knew that she too was in some grave past burden with ceaseless pain dripping through her hollow eyes. He knew that he has to save her from getting lost in those darkness.

Neil- yes u do safeguard but atleast u can take a safety guard for urself while stepping on them. 

I so don't believe in destiny nor I believe in fate so I can't blame any shit happening to those hands of mine.

I have seen u fearless, dedicated and given urself for hospital and it's people as if they are ur own but when it comes to u.........(there was a pause because he wanted her to look at him and that happened)

Y do u always back off like a coward. U push everyone as if the opponent is like a mad bull. Y so much harshness on self.

His words surely did impacted her as her distance look was conveying the same . But what was new the fear and regret of all rather than pain.

Neil-( himself) again silence!! What is that affected her so much that she can't even speak that out.....

She and Ali are almost like pale bodies when it comes to dwm.

Avni as if in trance

Avni- Kuch cheeze arzoo hi rhe to dard kum hota hai warna dard bhi Kuch jyaada hi bad jaata hai.

Soon she came out of her trance with a jolt of pain.

She grabbed the coffee and started to savour it.

Neil thought to let her have her tym so didn't pushed further.
