Jazmine POV~

Jada and Caesar's performance was absolutely amazing. They were so in the moment and just in sync. I was excited to start my practices with Huey for our performance but he kept saying that he didn't want to sing.

"But babe, your voice is amazing," I tell him. "So many people haven't even heard you sing for real. You have to sing!"

"No, Jazmine. I'll pass. You can sing a solo and call it a night. I'm not singing."

I sighed,

"Huey, please. This is for John."

Huey only ignores me and continues on. With Holland in his arms, he goes to our room and closes the door.

"What's he pouting about?" Cindy asks.

"He doesn't want to perform in front of people."

"Didn't he agree to perform though?"

I thought about it for a second. He did agree to sing for the show.

"Huey!" I called, going into the room. He was watching Princess and the Frog with Holland in his arms. She was smiling at the TV, putting her hands in Huey's face.

"Shh," Huey shushes me, "She's watching her movie."

"Huey," I whined, "You told John you'd sing. You sing all the time at home, why can't you do it there?"

"Jazmine, I don't want to talk about this."

I looked at Huey who was only looking at the TV. Sighing, I didn't press the matter any further.

"Fine."

I got up, leaving Huey and Holland to watch their movie alone. Going back downstairs, Jada is sitting on the couch with Jackson in her lap. Jordan sits next to her, trying to get on her lap too.

"Come here, lil man," I go and scoop the little one up, sitting him on my lap.

"He always wants to sit with me whenever Jack sits with me," Jada giggles. "At first he was fine next to me but once Caesar came back with Jackson and put him on my lap, he wanted to sit on my lap.

"Awe," I kiss Jordan's cheek. "You wanted to sit with mommy, Jay? It's okay, Auntie's here!"

"What are Huey and Holly doin?"

"Watching Huey's favorite movie," I say with an eye roll. Jada laughs. "Huey won't sing with me."

"Why?"

"He just won't."

"Probably because he's not used to singing in front of people. Let alone, when he's getting a lot of attention from it."

"I know but he has such a beautiful voice! So many people would love him!"

"Oh, I know," Jada says. "Riley was the only one that didn't get the singing gene like Huey and I did. But at least he's still musically gifted."

"I wish Huey loved to perform as much as you and Riley did," I pout. "It would be so cute if Huey and I sang together."

"Just talk to him again, but try not to sound pushy. You know Huey automatically shuts down when he feels like someone's trying to make him doing something."

I nodded. Maybe I can try talking to him again in the morning. I watched whatever movie Jada was watching. I think it was Guardians of the Universe or something. All I know is th:at there was a talking raccoon.

The twins were asleep by the time the movie ended and I helped her carry them both upstairs and to their cribs. Caesar was at work since he always worked late shifts so Jada said she'd try and stay up until 2 since that's when he got back.

"I'm going to head off to bed," I tell Jada. "I'll see you in the morning."

"Alright, Jazzy. Sleep well."

"You too."

Going to my room, Huey and Holland were sleep and the TV was off. All I could hear was the humming of our fan and both of their soft breathing. Quietly putting on my pajamas, I got into bed next to Huey. Instinctively, Huey wraps his arm around my waist and snuggles into me. I smile to myself, loving the warmth he gave.

The next morning, I woke up to Holland in our bed and Huey nowhere to be found. I rubbed my eyes, looking around. Holly peacefully slept next to me, arms spread out around her. I kissed her little face and got up slowly so I wouldn't wake her. I put some pillows on the sides of her so she wouldn't roll off the bed and slowly went downstairs. The clock in the kitchen read 9:25AM. Cindy was feeding Carter while Huey was helping Jada feed the twins.

"Mornin' girly," Cindy greets, putting a spoon full of grits in Carter's mouth.

"Morning everyone," I greet with a yawn. "Breakfast smells good."

"Huey made it," Jada says.

"I put some grits, eggs, veggie sausage, and pancakes in the microwave for you," Huey says, feeding Jackson eggs.

"Thank you," I turn the microwave on and grab a fork.

"Holly still sleep?" Huey asks.

"Yes. I put some pillows around her so she wouldn't fall. She'll probably wake up soon. How'd she end up in our bed anyway?"

"She cried in the middle of the night and you weren't getting up so I got up and fed her some food. She still wouldn't go to sleep so I put her in bed with us and she ended up drifting off."

The microwave goes off and I grab my plate, sitting next to Jada at the table.

"Where's Riley and Caesar?" I asked.

"Caesar is still sleeping since he got home a little later than he was supposed to," Jada says.

"And Riley went to the gym to work out," Cindy adds, "He thinks he gettin fat and he don't wanna end up lookin like Ruckus."

I giggled.

Hearing a small cry, Huey and I get up at the same time.

"I'll get her," I tell Huey, "You finish feeding Jack."

Going upstairs, Holly was sitting up, crying.

"Good morning, mommy's girl," I coo, picking Holly up. "How'd you sleep babygirl?"

Holly lays her head on my shoulder and puts her arms around my neck as I take her downstairs.

"Good morning, Holly!" The room greets and I set Holly in her chair next to Jackson. I feed her the food off of my plate.

"Jazmine, just make her a plate," Huey tells me.

"It's fine. Plus, I don't really eat much in the morning anyways."

Huey shrugs it off and the room slowly goes silent.

"So," Jada says, breaking the silence. "You two work on your song?"

I think Jada was trying to help sway Huey into singing with me.

"Jazmine?" Huey says, "You work on your song?"

"Her song? Huey you agreed to sing this week."

"I'm taking it back. I'm not singing."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

The front door unlocks, then opens. Riley enters the kitchen, sweaty and damn near naked. He was only wearing basketball shorts.

Cindy cat whistles and smirks,

"Damn daddy, you lookin fine!"

"Ew," Jada groans. "Put some clothes on, Reezy."

"My bad. It's hot as fuck outside and I went for a run after the gym," Riley says, grabbing a water bottle and chugging it. "What ya'll niggas talkin about?"

"Huey won't sing this week," Jada says.

"Nigga didn't yo punk ass agree to it?"

"I don't care. I don't wanna sing. And technically, I didn't agree to anything. Ya'll just assumed I'd do it."

"You know what?" I says, trying my hardest not to show any attitude. "Let's just drop it. Huey doesn't wanna sing, so he doesn't have to. We'll just have to tell John to plan something else."

Everyone looks at me as I go back to feeding Holly. I didn't want to look anyone because I knew I'd cry. So might as well spare my feelings in order to not make matters worse.
