JASPER HAD a rough childhood. First, his biological parents give him up for adoption when he's only 2 years old. Then he gets adopted by the Peters. At first, he thought it was great, he finally had a home with loving parents who acted like they cared about him, and he had a good relationship with both of them. The Peters adopted him in hopes of it helping rekindle their marriage and at the beginning it did help.

As he grew up, his parents fought more. During those times he turned to music and skateboarding to escape. He that knew if he stayed at home while they were fighting or if he was listening to their fights, he would have a panic attack. His parents always spoiled him because they felt bad for fighting all the time. They often tell him they wish he was more like his brother. Jasper knows that reason is because his brother didn't fight back with them and didn't do the best at standing up for himself. Jasper is the opposite. He wasn't afraid to fight back and stand up for himself.

Jasper always wondered what his brother was like. His parents didn't talk much about him. He only heard them speak with Regge when they fought with him and happen to mention Reggie. He is surprised that they still have Reggie's room and haven't changed to something else yet. But no one goes in it anymore besides Jasper.

When Jasper's upset, bored, or feeling anxious and is at home, he usually went to Reggie's bedroom and play around on one of the bass guitars that was in the room. He doesn't know how to play the bass at all, he's better at the guitar and the piano, but playing the bass and hanging out in Reggie's room just makes him feel closer to his brother he never met. Ever since they moved away from living near the beach, Jasper had all of Reggie's music stuff moved to his room, not letting his parents throw it out.

It wasn't long before his parents couldn't stand each other anymore and got a divorce. He decided to live with his mother since he has a better relationship with her than he does with his dad. Jasper is thankful they still live in LA because he wouldn't know what he would do without his two best friends. He has known Julie and Flynn ever since they were little kids. He's much closer with Julie than he is with Flynn though.

He has never been in love before and hasn't even had a crush on anyone either. Lately, he's starting to think he's falling in love with his best friend. And just to make things crazier, she calls him one night, claiming that his brother and his friends are in her mom's studio even though his brother and his friends have been dead for twenty-five years.
