Sarah sat at the window in her locked room, looking at the sky.

She hadn't left her room the entire day.
It was night by now, and the moon was out.

(A/N: Yes, the sky of Lunaris is purple at night!)

Sarah just wanted bedtime to come already, so her mommy would come and sing the lullaby for her, like she always did.

It was pretty much the daily minimum of time where she gets to see her mommy.

Sarah was also pretty much the only one of the three kids, who wanted or liked to hear it.

Rin has already been fed up with the song in a long time now!

Daiki was a whole new level.
While Rin would only complain or at her worst, throw harmless little temper tantrums, Daiki would straight up lock his room's door and windows until the next morning.

But hey! Rin was already 11 now and Daiki was 14!
So I guess it all makes kinda sense!

It appears that in all that time, Daiki and Rin have simply gotten used to not seeing their parents much.

But the only thing Sarah is getting used to over time, is disappointments.....!

The 4-year old was suddenly snapped back to reality, when she heard a loud banging on her bedroom door, accompanied by an even louder voice.

"Lil sis? Ya ok?", Rin asked loudly.
Sarah didn't know if she should answer.
She just didn't feel like it right now.

The banging on the door only increased.
"Sarah, we know you're in there!", Daiki yelled.
"You can clearly see the trail of sprinkles that leads from the Royal Kitchen to your room!"

Just great!
"Note to self : Never use sprinkles to ease sadness, when you want to be alone!", Sarah whispered to herself.

On the other side of the door, Rin and Daiki were having a hard time, trying to convince their younger sister to come out.

"Ugh! I wish I had some big hammer, so I could just break that door down!!", Rin declared, kicking against the door.

(A/N: Foreshadowing?)

All of a sudden, the two kids heard a voice.

"Prince Daiki? Princess Rin?"

The two kids turned around and saw Chantal there, in her hands a rather big box that looked like a present.

"What? Haven't screwed up enough yet?", Daiki asked Chantal, and got elbowed by his sister as a result.

"Let me handle this!", Chantal said before stepping forward and knocking on the door.
"Princess Sarah?"

No answer.

"Please listen.....!", Chantal said to Sarah.
"I know it's sad that your parents couldn't be here.....! But be assuted, they really love you and your siblings more than anything in the world!"

Daiki rolled his eyes at that.
"Yeah, when they ever make any time for us at all, they spend it by treating us like little babies!", he said disgusted.
"Cuddling, bedtime stories and cheesy lullabies.......! Ugh!!"

Rin and Chantal both looked at Daiki with a 'Seriously?!' expression.

Although Rin actually agreed with her older brother.
Their parents treat all three of them like little babies!

If they ever make time for their kids at all!

If they are so busy with their royal duties, why even get 3 kids in the first place?!

"Although your parents weren't able to come, I'm sure they would've loved to!", Chantal continued.
"They even got a very special gift, just for you!"

"Is it a weapon?", Daiki immediately asked.

"Is it something to eat?", Rin immediately followed.

"..... No!", Chantal answered, earning sad disappointed whining noises from the two kids.

"...... What is it?", Sarah asked on the other side of the door.

"Come out and see!", Chantal replied gently.

After a little while, the door hesitantly opened, and Sarah stepped out of her room.

Chantal gave the present box to the little princess, who hesitantly opened it.

Once she removed the top part of the box, something immediately jumped out of it.

A cat.

Sarah carefully picked the little kitty up.
It cheered "Moon! Moon!"
As if that was its way of meowing!

After looking at it for a while, Sarah tightly hugged the round purple kitten.
"It's so adorable!", The young princess cheered.

Chantal smiled.

"Hey, she actually did it!", Daiki whisper-yelled to Rin, with a smirk.

"Oh, shut up!", Rin whisper-yelled back with a smile.
