It just had to be today.

The old bey gang all decided to get together, having not been around one another since graduating. The idea of a party was loved by everyone as they got closer through their school years, most in relationships or are married. Fubuki and Suou decided it would be a great idea to have said party at their own home, considering they had a large, beautiful home. Their old friends had also agreed to the idea of the couple hosting the party, knowing it would’ve been a whole lot easier on Suou.

The poor dear looked like he was going through hell.

    “I’m not so sure about this party anymore, Fubuki…” Suou sighed, rocking in the rocking chair the couple had in the living room. “I look like a balloon.”
    “Sweetheart, you don’t look like a balloon, we’ve talked about that.  Our friends will not care about what you look like since they know there are three babies currently occupying your body.” His husband explained, the blonde setting out some of the drinks for the party.
    “B-but-“
    “No buts, Suou.” Fubuki interrupted, turning and leaning on the island. His crimson eyes held a stern but caring glint, his arms crossed over his chest. “You’re heavily pregnant, your hormones are putting lies in your head. You look amazing and you’re glowing, end of story.”
    “… Fine…” Suou mumbled, puffing his cheeks out in annoyance. Fubuki walked over with a smile, leaning down and kissing his head gently.
    “That’s better. Now, we’re going to have a great time and enjoy hanging out with our friends.
    “I like the sound of that, honestly.”

The doorbell went off and the couple both smiled.
    “I like the sound of that too.” Fubuki said, walking over and opening the door. Behind was Toko and Nika, the twins smiling widely.
    “Fubuki! You look great, how’s everything?” Toko greeted, shaking his old friend’s hand and sharing a quick hug.
    “It’s been forever! So good to see you!” Nika smiled, hugging the blonde after her brother.
    “Toko, Nika, great that you could make it! I’ve been well, thanks for asking, but please come on in.” Fubuki smiled, motioning the twins through the door. Upon hearing the doorbell, Suou did his best to stand, adjusting his shirt. He smiled at the twins when they came in, Nika immediately rushing over and engulfing him in a wonderful hug.
    “Suou, you look great! Look at you, you’re glowing!” The pink-haired woman gushed, Suou laughing softly.
    “Thank you Nika, you look great as well.” He said happily, hugging her back. “It’s so good to see you both again.”
    “So good to see you again as well, Suou! Nika would not shut up about seeing you, with how well the pregnancy was going, meeting her nieces and nephew-“
    “I want to be a good aunt, Toko!”

Suou laughed again as Toko gave him a hug as well, holding his belly gently after they pulled away.
    “How much longer has the doctor given you with the triplets? I know you had a check-up a few days ago.” Nika asked, setting her purse on the couch a moment as Fubuki joined them.
    “Well, they say I’m doing great despite the stress being put on my body so we should expect the triplets to come within the next three weeks.”
    “That must be exciting! You both must be thrilled.”
    “Thrilled, yes. I'm just not looking forward to the laboring process…”
    “No one ever is, but don’t worry! Fubuki is going to be there for you, hell, we will too if you need!”
    “All of us are!” Toko butt in, collapsing on the couch with a smile. The couple both smiled as well, the doorbell suddenly going off again.

Time to party.

Everyone else showed up within the half hour, bringing a few treats and hugs to share. Everyone sat around with plates of food and drinks in hand, talking and laughing about old stories or what they were all doing in life now. Ranjiro and Aiger were engaged and planning their wedding, Naru was in her senior year of high school, Toko and Nika were both in college; everyone seemed to be doing well.

Key word: Seemed.

Suou was in the restroom since the triplets kept assaulting his bladder during the conversations, sighing as he washed his hands. He started to not feel well after everyone came over, his back and abdomen having small but sharp pains every now and then. 
    “Please just be Braxton Hicks…” He mumbled to himself, stepping over and reaching for the knob. And then it hit, the rush he wasn’t ready to experience just yet. His water broke- “O-oh jeez… No, why now?”
    “Suou dear, are you still in there?” Nika’s voice suddenly called, a knock following suit. Suou took in a shaky breath and grabbed the doorknob, opening the door. The sight the young woman came upon made her freeze, rushing into the bathroom to him. “Oh, Suou, don’t tell me your water broke! Fubuki!”

Panicked multi-set footsteps came down the hall, Fubuki appearing first as he rushed inside.
    “Are you okay, how are you doing?” His voice was frantic as his albino partner gripped his hand, squeezing it tightly.
    “I-I’ll feel better when you get me to the hospital, p-please…” Suou breathed, the couple waddling past their friends.
    “Fubuki, Suou, do you need any help?” Ranjirou asked, the others nodding.
    “If you need any help in any way, we’re right here for you.
    “Thank you everyone, but I need to get him to the hospital quickly. You’re free to stay and hang out if you wish.”
    “Hell no, we’re coming along!” Aiger told them, everyone agreeing. “We’re your friends, we’re always going to be there for each other. Come on guys, let’s get Suou to the hospital!”

Everyone agreed and helped the young couple get what they needed, walking out of the house. Hospital, here they come…

Suou was told he had to have been in labor for twelve hours before his water officially broke at home, meaning that he felt no pain up until half an hour before his water broke. The new information shocked the couple, the distressed albino squeezing Fubuki’s hand tightly. Unfortunately, the babies could not come the natural way. With the amount of stress on Suou’s body, a c-section is the only way for these triplets to come. It was a long and grueling time in the operating room, but one by one, the Sumie babies were born. The small family was blessed with healthy, yet slightly early, triplets, two baby girls and a little boy.

The snowy-haired male sobbed softly as he held two of the babies, his smile infinite as his husband held the third. They had names decided a couple months after seeing they were having triplets, the names now adorning their bracelets and their birth certificates.
