It was just a normal day for the Mossclan. Little did they know this was the day the biggest change to Mossclan. All of the sudden an apprentice came out of the bushes that was called Strongpaw he looked worried. He then said, "Dryclan is attack the border patrol!"

There leader at the time Tumblestar got up and said, "I'll go help, Rosetail, Ripplenose and Stonesplash come with me." All the cats called on got up nodding. They all left. No one in the clan knew but no one that was on the patrol and none of the cats that left to help them would ever come back alive.

The border patrol later that day found there bodies in the stream. They all had to take 2 bodies back to camp. They laid them out in the center of camp where all of the cats shared tongues with all 8 cats one last time. Patchoak the deputy said, "I have a new rule for this clan. In a week from today we will have are first fight between half of the clan. After that every 5 moons another one will happen. The ranks that don't have to be in the battle are queens, elders, kits, medicine cats, medicine cat apprentices, the deputy and the leader." All of the clan nodded due to the code preventing us from talking back.

That first battle was the one that made them notice how bad it would be. Only one cat that participants will end up winning the rest will be dead. This has been going on since. It's the third leader after Patch star and it is still happening. Though the clan is starving less now.
