Avni locked the door silently. It was 9 and the streets were shrouded in darkness. She wore her helmet and accelerated, only to realise that the tyre was punctured.

"FML!" She cussed.

She tried to go for an Ola cab but she dropped the idea. Finally she locked the scooty and decided to go for a long brisk walk to home.

Avni mentally praised herself for this decision. Firstly she saved fuel, secondly she had a walk and thirdly it saved her money! Now that she saved so much, in the back of her head she was already hatching plans to grow more or probably learn something new soon.

She murmurs jokingly,
"Nanno kehti, yeh Mangarilal ke Haseeb sapne chod or kaam pe dhyaan de."

The cold winds brushed past her moonlit frame, cascading a tall shadow. Avni twirled as she walked on the lonely footpath. Spreading her arms with a cheshire smile blooming on her face. Breathing in she lets the salubrious gush reach her every fibre, giving her tranquility.

But her mind wavers onto undiscovered paths to discover new ways, new people and new emotions. And currently it couldn't stop thinking about him.

Undoubtedly, she likes him and probably harbours a crush on him ever since he gate crashed her shop. She realises how much she craves to talk to him.
A mere thought of the realisation that every now and then when he speaks, she feels butterflies in her stomach, made her cheeks burn.

But he has a girlfriend. Reminding herself she walks faster as if trying to dodge all those new found sparks that the wind might generate.

Avni lay in her brother's lap. It was the perfect place for her to find love and solace. Both of them had been orphans without a name. Yet their relationship never suffered any blows because of this, rather it strengthened what was between them.

He gently messaged some oil in her luscious black hair. All her worries vanishing into thin air.
Jadu wali Champi it was!

So like any other day both of them discussed how the day went. Aman frowned on remembering the scolding he got from his professor today whereas Avni laughed out.

So Aman ran his hands across her neck as she laughed terribly. This was the ultimate weapon her little bro used against her.

Normally Aman would comment on hearing about Avni's day as, "Kitni boring hai tu ladki!" But today as Avni started with a different glint in her eyes, he payed a little more attention. And soon he guessed the reason for this!

"Damn Avni Ayesha! Why are you are so stupid!?"
Avni curses herself for almost revealing to Aman, her best friend-cum-brother about the recent source of distraction in her life.
Of frickin' course him.
The human nature has it in its genes to curse one person or the other, often yourself as well, for any mistakes that greet us.

Aman stood up, the oil in his hands almost dripping as he gawked at Avni as if she had done something unbelievable!

"Aman...w-wo..chod na...kuch nhi.. he's just a regular customer" Avni paused, the blush on her face making way to her ears. She continued after sighing deeply,"Aur tu meri part time maa mat ban, samjha!"

Nevertheless, Aman looks on with wide smirk on his face.
It was rare that he got to discuss about boys with Avni. Not that he was uncomfortable, ofcourse not, he was pretty modern in his approach as well soch.

And he as a brother couldn't stop his grin after knowing that his sister was completely normal, and liked a guy.
A different kind of euphoria!

"Avni, dekh..tu aur Mai ek dusre ke part time maa baap hain, but.. full time bhai-behan haina? To bataaaa na konn hai wohh?"
Aman said stressing on the words bataaa and wohh,  teasingly.

Avni's face reflected shock as she pushed him from herself and walked into the bathroom. She could clearly hear her brother's un-melodious squeals of "Avni Ko pyaar Ho gya!"

She screams back, her words not matching her emotions,
"Shut up Aman! There's nothing as such!"

And her mind supported her
nothing-as-such-theory but somewhere her heart questioned whether it was really true?

The voices in the background had stopped and only her erratic heartbeats reached her ears.
