Rishab POV

I was scared to see her burning glare before walking away from me. Then I realised that I slipped my tongue even before thinking. 

" Ishu… sorry… I didn't mean to hurt you" I apologised to her in my heart.

Then I walked to the bathroom with a heavy heart. To take the toothpaste from the stand  for brushing.  All my thoughts went to last night where I met that man whom Ishita was with. I felt something was wrong with him, especially with his behaviour. 

I didn't understand why Ishita went on a date with him. 

" Didn't she find a better person than him? Will he look after her carefully all his life? " I doubted while continuing his personal chore.

……

Once he came out of the bathroom, finishing the bath, he noticed his father standing.

" I know you don't have a fresh pair of trousers and shirt to wear. Take my shirt and adjust for today…" Abhiram said sternly.

" Thank you…" I said and took it from his hand.

" Don't be overjoyed thinking I forgave you. I came here to give this shirt as per your mom's suggestion, " he said. 

Then he continued, " I will forgive you when you fulfil my promise which you gave me in the hospital …"  

" I will try my best…." I replied.

" I will see …" dad said and left the room. I quickly got ready as some unknown happiness filled my heart wearing dad's shirt.

When I came out of the room, I found dad and mom were having their breakfast in the dining hall. Just then mom looked at me and said," come and have breakfast. We need to go to the hospital quickly …"

I sat beside her but my heart was searching for Ishita. 

" Did she have her breakfast or not? " I thought in my mind while mom was serving me poha on the plate.

" Did you take your medicine? "Dad asked mom in a serious tone.

She shook her head silently.

" How many times should I take medicine without forgetting? " Dad questioned mom as if the teacher was instructing the student.

" Mom…. Where are your medicines? " I asked her as her expression changed due to dad's lecture.

" my medicine box is… In… that room …" she indicated with her finger. Immediately, I stood up from the chair and went to the bedroom to get her medicine.

I looked around the room in search of a medicine box. I found it on the bedside table. When I reached that place and took the medicine box, I heard the door creaking sound from the other side of the bed. 

I turned my head in the direction and found Ishita standing. Her body wrapped with a fluffy white towel and her hair wet, dripping water. I forget to blink my eyes being mesmerised with her beauty. As she noticed my presence, she crossed her hands covering her upper exposed skin.

She turned away showing her back and asked," How could you enter the bedroom without knocking the door?  Don't you have some decency? " 

As soon as she spoke those words, I felt a sting pain in my heart as she pricked me with sharp words. I was ready to accept her punishment as I hurt her feelings but her words made me angry.

" I never imagined that you were so cheap that you entered …" before she completed that sentences, 

I went closer to her as it was so hurtful to know how her feelings changed for me. I gripped her arm tightly and twirled towards it in one go.

" complete that sentence …." I said, looking into her eyes.

Immediately she tried to wriggle to come out of my strong grip.

" Tell me… Miss. Ishita…. Malhotra. Don't I have decency? " I questioned her. There was no response from her. 

" Yes ... .I agree that I hurt your feelings. I married you by cheating with another identity." I said as there was no response from her. 

Then I continue, " But how could you accuse me as if I misbehaved with you? " 

" Look at me and tell me Miss. Ishita, did I try to touch you without your concern even when we were together? Did I cross the line even though you were ready to fulfil wifely duties? Did I try to take advantage when we were together? " I asked her.

She shook her head looking down. I raised her face with my index finger as I wanted to end everything between us. It was so hard to bear her hatred. Then I noticed tears from her eyes rolling over her cheeks.

Instantly I released her arm from my grip and stepped back as it was hard to witness her crying. I looked at her for a few seconds and turned away from her.

" I came here to get mom's medicine box. Please forgive me as I always hurt you knowingly or unknowingly…" I said and walked out of the room. 

…..

" Why did you take so long to bring the medicine box? " My dad asked.

" I think… he might search for it in the room as it is a new place for him…" Ma replied instead of me. 

" Come have breakfast. We need to go to the hospital…" she continued.

I lost my appetite with her words but I don't want to hurt by saying no. So I started having my breakfast but all my thoughts were filled with Ishita. I was so confused to see the chain around her neck. I could not see it clearly as some part of the chain was covered with a towel at her upper bustline. I still remember it was the same design of the nuptial chain she used to wear. I saw it very close with my eyes. 

" My eyes cannot cheat me and my intuition is also telling that she was still wearing the nuptial chain I tied." I thought myself 

" But… before you conclude anything like always. Try to confirm before talking to Ishita. Don't forget how hard she slapped you in the hospital " my mind warned me.

After a while, Ishita came to the dining hall and stood silently beside dad and ma. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed her face. Her eyes were red as if she cried.

" You too have breakfast…" Ma told Ishita.

" I had my breakfast…." She replied. But I understood she was telling lies to my parents.

" Okay then. .. let's go … I want to meet my daughter…" my dad said and stood up from the chair. He walked to the living room to go to the hospital. Meanwhile Ishita went to her bedroom.

" Ma… I forgot my mobile in the guest room. You and dad go first…" I informed her. She agreed to me and followed my dad.

I picked two apples from the dining table. Just then she noticed apples in my hands and quietly walked away from me. Immediately, I ran after her as she was going to lock the house. I stood beside her and said, " It's very wrong to tell lies. .."

She turned her head to the side and asked, " what do you mean?"

" I know …. You didn't have your breakfast…." I replied.

" Who told you? "She questioned.

" As far as I know, Ishita doesn't eat without taking a bath. And I know very well that you took a bath and came out  of the room. Then it's obvious that you didn't have breakfast " I reasoned.

For a few seconds, she stared at me with shock and surprise. But then she glared at me and replied, " It's none of your business …."

" Ishita… please don't  take out your anger on food. I am so sorry if I behave rudely with you…." I pleaded.

" Your parents …. Are waiting for us ...." saying she walked towards the elevator.

" Ishita …." Calling her name, I went to the elevator. The door of the elevator opened as soon as I reached. We entered the elevator. And to my luck we were alone.

I gave one apple to her. " Mr. Rishab …. Stay away from me. I don't want to talk with you" she said and moved to the other side.

"Fine. I won't  disturb you… if you eat this apple." I mumbled, leaning to her ears. 

"… ……." I mumbled.

She raised her head and stared at me with bewilderment.
