Jeremy's mom is a food critic
Michael's mom runs a very unpopular restaurant
And their sons are now in love
Oh boy

Jeremy Heere, son of the biggest food critic in the entirety of Middleborough (it's a city now not just a smol neighborhood), Jessica 'Heere' Riddle, was not satisfied with the food she enjoyed.

Her taste was extremely specific, and the popular restaurants in the city were the same. Boring decor, boring service, and absolutely disgusting miniature food.

Jeremy liked stuff that was cultural, so when he stumbled upon a little palace simply known as "Mell's Hinog Beses(translation: Mell's Mellow Meals)" he was quickly intrigued.

He walked in and the place wasn't plain white like every other place. It wasn't exactly bright colors either, mostly browns, blacks, and light shades of gray(it was then that the author wanted to scream and die). Jeremy sat down at the counter and waited for somebody to come take his order.

He sat there for about a minute before he seen a tall boy stacking chairs.

"Excuse me do you work here? I was hoping for lunch." Jeremy said loudly and the boy turned around and his eyes widened.

"MAMA WE GOTTA CUSTOMER!!" He yelled and a woman that looked very similar ran over to him.

"Where Mahal where?"

"Over by the counter! He willingly stopped by!" The boy was super bouncy and his mother nodded and quickly sent him towards Jeremy. She probably went to make food. "Welcome to Mell's Hinog Beses, or Mell's Mellow Meals. Whaddya want?" He asked cheerfully and Jeremy shrugged.

"Anything is fine I was just looking for something...not like everything else. I was looking for culture and diversity and this place seemed like the type of place I could find that."

"Well I'll go see what my Mama is making." He ran off and Jeremy enjoyed his enthusiasm. Something fresh.

A few minutes later he came out with a bowl of...something.

"Here's a bowl of my Mama's finest Tinola. It's soup if you didn't know that." He winked with a joyful smile on his face.

Jeremy looked down at the bowl and gently lifted it to his mouth, drinking the Tinola, as well as eating any non-liquid substances in it.

It was amazing. Jeremy licked his lips and looked at the boy in awe.

"Can I have more of this please?" Jeremy asked quickly and the boy turned around and went to go find his mom.

He came back out with more Tinola and Jeremy smiled wide when he sat it down.

"This is the first time anybody has ever eaten our food...amazing." The boy mumbled and his mom eventually came around front and sat a few seats from Jeremy. "Mama this is our first customer who didn't care about ratings! He loves our cooking! Can you believe that?"

"Mahal if I wasn't watching it I wouldn't but I am watching it so I do." She smiled at her son and they looked back at Jeremy, who wiped his mouth and smiled, clearly wanting more food.

"I'll get you more Tinola." The boy went to the kitchen to prepare Jeremy another dish.

"So sweetie, what exactly brought you to our little home away from home?" The boy's mother asked and Jeremy gave her a gentle smile.

"I've been looking for a restaurant that isn't like every other place in the city. Thanks to my mother's dumb critiques I can never taste good food." Jeremy mumbled a bit towards the ending, but the woman heard.

"Who's your mother?"

"Jessica Heere Riddle. You probably know who she is. Everybody does." Jeremy sighed and looked to the floor.

"Of course I know who she is but I didn't know she had a son."

"Many people don't. Because I live with my father...that and I don't share the same taste as my mother would like. For instance she would have this entire place changed quickly as she seen it." Jeremy watched his mother destroy countless amazing restaurants.

There was one by this young half Asian girl and her parents, she would reenact Shakespeare plays by herself while they ate. It was quite the pleasure to watch but his mom got rid of it and made it like everything else.

Another place was run by this pair of boys who were a couple, it was like a fast food place but the food wasn't made immediately, it was grilled at the exact time as it should be, all the meat was homemade, and half of the place was outside. Jeremy loved visiting it during the summer, it was like a forever cook out. His mom got rid of it too.

"Well I'm glad to see somebody likes out little restaurant...we were going to close soon because nobody comes here."

"I will come here every day if you keep it open." Jeremy noticed more Tinola in front of him and looked up to see the boy again.

"Here's two bowls of it since you like it so much."

"Thank you. Okay might as well introduce myself. My name's Jeremy Heere. Obviously you know who my mother is. Your names?" Jeremy queried and the boy spoke up first.

"I'm Michael. This is my Mama, her name's Maganda. If you couldn't tell from the food and name of the restaurant, we're Filipino." Michael stated proudly and Jeremy chuckled a bit.

"Well then Michael, I'm glad to be your first customer." He said and Michael smiled before leaning over the counter and hugging Jeremy.

"Thank you for enjoying our food. I've always wanted to make somebody happy with my cooking." He was crying. Jeremy hugged back, pushing the Tinola away as not to spill it.

"Well thank you for having an amazing restaurant. I won't tell my Mom about you. I'll help you get business. I'll help you and keep your restaurant the same as it is right now I promise."

"Thank you Jeremy." Maganda patted Jeremy's back and he smiled at her. "We look forward to getting to know you better."

"I hope to know you both better as well."

"Here Heere. My personal phone number." Michael handed Jeremy a napkin with a phone number in it. "We're about to close up for the night.. Do you think you could maybe come over?"

"I'll text my dad real quick and ask him. He has authority over me...which is better than my mom..." Jeremy pulled his phone out and texted his dad quickly, and as soon as it sent his dad sent a thumbs up emoticon and the question "did that send correctly?"

Jeremy laughed and replied with a yes before looking up at Michael.

"Yes I can."

"Yay! Can we make him more food Mama?" Michael asked and Maganda nodded happily. "Yay! C'mon let's get going, you're going to love it!" Michael ran around and began stacking chairs.

Jeremy helped him.

When they walked out, Jeremy grabbed Michael's hand out of nowhere, and the taller male turned red quickly.

"If it were me Michael, I'd give you a three star rating." Jeremy smiled as he stood on his tip toes and kissed Michael on the cheek.

Michael quickly kissed him back but on  the lips, the taste of Tinola on both their lips.

I love this idea now omg. I have a feeling only one person will get what this entire thing is referencing tbh
