Part 2 of the collab

"No."

Quake looked up to Thunderstorm, alarmed. "What?"

Thunderstorm's furious expression did not waver. "I said no," he growled, clearly torn between distress and anger. "You're a leader, Earthquake. What you're doing now is risking the entire balance between life and death! I don't care what you think, because I'm not agreeing to this."

Quake crossed his arms, glaring at the spirit. The world around them was reduced to stark white, but both their figures were solid and clear.

"Do you even know what's happening after you died? How Cyclone grieved? How he nearly killed himself?" Quake snapped. "You didn't deserve to die! I'm fixing that mistake!"

"Are you doing this for Cyclone, or for yourself?"

Quake fell silent.

"I don't care what happens. I'm dead, Quake. I can't interfere with the living." Thunderstorm's voice turned soft. "I moved on. You two should too."

The former elemental turned on his heels, walking back to where he came from. Quake tried to catch up, but he slammed into a barrier. The wall between death and life.

"I'm bringing you back!" Quake promised to Thunderstorm's disappearing silhouette. "You hear me? I'M BRINGING YOU BACK!"

But the spirit did not turn back, nor did he stop to consider Quake's words. He faded into the other side, and their connection stuttered to a halt, crashing Quake back to the land of reality.

Quake blinked, noticing that he was lying on his bed. His fists were clenched, fingers drawing blood from his palm.

It's not a dream.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Have you ever imagined a dream that made you think that you were actually awake inside and experienced like it was reality? It starts out with a feeling of confusion, wonder and caution. A variety of mixed feelings conjured into one. And in the end, it will crawling in your spine and yell out at you telling that you experiencing a nightmare. Dreams can be scary when your conscious suddenly detached from reality and never came back.

And Quake almost experienced it.

Quake sat up from the bed he was lying on, sweat immensely dripping down on his forehead. He moved to the edge of his wooden bed and positioned his feet to meet the the wooden floor that made a resounding creak.

Whoever brought him to his room must have witnessed him breaking down from his despair and immediately took action in taking him to his bedroom after Quake wailed himself to sleep.

His question was answered when he heard an faint audible snoring emanating in his own room. He glanced around with barely any illumin-ation and saw Solar peacefully sleeping on a chair. His head was hung low and figured he must have been keeping a close eye out on their parent figure.

Quake was silent and stayed there, unmoving from his spot ever since he woke up. He glanced to his alarm clock, which he disabled the alarm to sound off when it hits its time stamp.

4:00 AM.

It wasn't a surprising event. After Thunder's death, he'd woke up at an unexpected time, whether be day or night, he woke with a groggy feeling.

He affixed his look on Solar once again. And after debating on whether or not he would make his way towards him or not, the choice is still here.

Well, there's no right and wrong answers. So, why not waking him up? Besides... He had some reasons and plans in mind for him. After, Quake slowly and nearly stumble to Solar, he gently shook him while mumbling his name out too. He repeats before his sibling about to wake up, drowsily.

But he returns back to his nap making an angry mark appear on top of Quake's forehead. Alright, no more nice Mother Earth. Quake don't even let himself summon his gloves as he's strong enough to flip the chair with Solar on it while he shouts the elemental light's name.

"SOLAR!"

A "GAH!" was the response from his younger brother. The chair did made a quick noise as for Solar making a loud thump! with his body slamming on the floor.

Now, Solar's awake... sort of. But he's awake, isn't he, now?

To answer that, was a total mislead. Solar thought it wasn't funny as he got up in front of Quake and comically yelled at his face.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" Solar's eyes glowed a shining gold, an indication that he's ready to use his powers even though there's no reason to.

For such an act done by Quake made him chuckle before descending into fits of small laughter. Having quieted down for little bit, Solar readjusted himself and have a quick scan on Quake.

At the state he's in, he joyfully laughed at Solar's hilarious fall albeit only temporary. When was the last time Quake was ever this happy? Solar couldn't recall as his mind is occupied by a number of events that occured naturally in this home of theirs.

"Are you done now?" Solar spoke up, having enough of Quake's laughter.

Quake wiped a tear away from his eyelid. "Yeah... *giggles*... Okay. I'm done now. I'm done."

Solar rolled his eyes. Quake may be mentally unstable but he sure still show his positive emotions right.

But that's besides the point of why Solar is here. The young scientist is supposed to be keeping watch on the one who is the most broken. But he got that down as he instructed Thorn to take care of Cyclone in the meantime. Thorn is Cyclone's great brother, best friend, and a good consoler.

"So why are you here, Solar?"

Was the sentence that escaped Quake's mouth. He knew the reason why Solar is here. But he wanted to make sure if he's inductions are confirmed by the grey eyed coloured individual.

"To look out for you, of course." A straight-forward answer.

"Is that it?" Quake deadpanned.

"That's not it. I've been hearing you muttering in your sleep."

He didn't know why Quake suddenly became nervous.

"Huh?"

Solar decided to get straight to the point.

"You mentioned Thunderstorm... even if we agreed to never speak about it in front of Cyclone or any of us, you still mentioned his name."

"Well... I..."

Solar shuffled in his seat. "You were asleep. Can't blame you if you had a nightmare or something," he said flatly, rasps mixing in his voice.

The gold-eyed elemental looked down. He saw his bed moist, most likely from his sweat. The blanket was on the floor. The pillow was thrown aside as well.

He inhaled cold air. Quake gritted his teeth, though his jaw was sore. A cough turned his attention to Solar.

"It's time to move on, Quake." Solar wasted no extraneous words. "It's been months, but you and Cyclone haven't improved one bit."

Quake stared at him. His ears rang, leading him to question the eligibility of Solar's words. Though dazed, his stiff, aching fists balled, digging into the mattress.

"What did you say?" Quake dared, breathing heavy.

Solar's expression didn't change. "Do you remember how he died?" He didn't waver, despite Quake glaring him down. "He died saving us. Or more specifically: me, and you."

"Drop it," Quake growled.

"Do you really think he would want to see you two beating yourselves up?" Solar continued. "He would want you to live a good life, even without him."

"And YOU know what HE wants?"

"I know," Solar accentuated his words, "that he doesn't want to see his brothers the way you two are now."

"You don't know anything about him! You don't know anything about US!" Quake screamed, more desperate than anything. "You had everything handed to you; maids, butlers, gifts, attention—but we aren't in your fantasy world anymore, honey. We're in real life, with a real death!"

"I know everything." Solar raised his stare to meet Quake's flaring glare. "Because you forget that Supra existed."

Quake froze, like a balloon freezing. Soon, that balloon's ice shattered, then deflated. Supra, the fusion that was between Solar and Thunderstorm.

Quake understood fusion. They were the same person, which meant their memories would be shared. Solar fused with Thunderstorm, which meant he had every memory that Thunderstorm ever had.

Including his memories with Quake and Cyclone.
