Lying on a pool of his own blood, he looked at the direction where he told his best friend to hide. Solar wondered if Thorn could see him at this angle, battered and bleeding in many places. The killer stood over his body, ready to plunge a knife through his heart.

And it was at that moment that Solar wondered about his friend. Was he be standing behind that wall, scared out of his mind? Or was he trying to find a way to interfere? Solar realized that he didn't know his friend quite enough to actually answer that question.

Solar's eyes filled with tears as he realized how selfish he had been. He had spent most of their time talking about himself, being the egoistic and arrogant person he is. It's always about Solar, and never about Thorn.

Solar closed his eyes and braced himself as the killer went to bring down the knife to his heart. He heard the sound of metal piercing a flesh, but strangely, he didn't feel the pain of it.

He opened his eyes in confusion and saw a body in front of him, taking the blow of the knife that was meant for him. The person turned her head 360 degrees and looked at him with her scarlet red eyes.

"You are not my creator."

Solar opened his in confusion and saw a body in front of him, taking the blow of the knife that was meant for him. His breath caught in his throat as he recognized the body to be of his friend's, his turtleneck black and green shirt getting rapidly soaked with blood.

Solar watched in horror as his friend's body collapsed beside him. Thorn, his best friend that benefited nothing from his, took a knife that was aimed for him.

In a distance, the sound of police sirens penetrated through the air. Alarmed by this, the killer quickly fled the scene, leaving the two friends bleeding on the floor.

"T-thorn," Solar choked out. "Thorn!"

"S-s-solar..."

"W-why did you take the knife for me?" Solar gasped out, tears coming out of his eyes. "I did not do anything to you to merit that kind of loyalty."

"You have suffered enough, Solar," Thorn whispered, his eyelids fluttering slightly. "And that I did promise you that I'll never leave you.

Solar laughed breathlessly, choking on his blood. "You took that too seriously, Thorn. But thank you, I couldn't ask for a better friend. I'm just sorry I never been one to you."

"Don't be stupid," Thorn whispered as his eyes drifted shut for a moment. "You took me in when no one else did. That's more than I could ever ask for."

Solar smiled as he felt himself drifting away as well. "Together?"

"Forever."

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

This oneshot is definitely not my best one. I just don't have the motivation to write right now, but I don't want my prompts to be left hanging in my laptop.

Anyway, I just hope you liked this oneshot. (Even though it feels like trash to me.)

Lovelots,

Glace, the Queen of Angst.

||Glace? Why does that name sounded familiar?||
