Couple Chapters X: Cannon and Hunter

~timeline: during all the other canter chapters lol~

~Cannon: age 19~

       I had been waiting for this day for a very long time now. Hunter and I never told the public we were back together, though many people suspected it since he was in my music video because who would want to record an intimate music video with their ex?

       Technically, they were wrong because Hunter and I were still broken up when the video was filmed.

       It was difficult keeping our relationship a secret again, but we just wanted to keep it away from the spotlight for now so we could enjoy the moments we had together. 

       That, and I liked keeping people in suspense then announcing things in a huge way. And way better way to do it than an awards show that was also televised live? Especially an awards show I was asked to perform at the very end because I just might have a special guest show up half way through the song.

       I was hoping Hunter and I could have showed up to the awards show together but then that would have been a dead giveaway. At least we could show up to the next event together after tonight.

       But Hunter and I ended up seated beside each other in the venue for various reasons.

       The main one being me not being able to stay away from him for too long otherwise I would burst into tears. 

       And because I couldn't keep my hands off of him.

       Oops.

       I was just really happy Hunter and I were dating again. The two of us breaking up absolutely crushed me inside. He wasn't just the love of my life. He was also my best friend and once we ended things, it was like I didn't have anyone. 

       Unfortunately, Hunter wouldn't even let me hold his hands during the award show, so I was sad once again. He was being so mean to me.

       At one point, he leaned towards me and said, "You do know cameras also film the audience, right?" 

      "Well, excuse me for being in love."

       "You could be in love after the awards show."

       "So what I'm hearing is we could make out afterwards."

       "That's not what I said at all."

       "Yes, but that's what I heard."

       "You're hopeless."

       I only shrugged in reply. I loved teasing him.

       Hunter was nominated for three categories this year and so far, he hadn't won the two that were announced, so I was annoyed. Who on earth wouldn't vote for this amazing, gorgeous, talented man?

       Not gonna lie, I even spam voted for him a few times.

       Nobody was going to stop me.

       Well, apparently, people were stopping me because Hunter wasn't winning anything. I was starting to think the votes were rigged.

       That was until he won the third category; Male Singer of the Year. That was definitely the biggest achievement of all three categories he was nominated for. 

       When his name was called, I wanted to hug and kiss him but no, I couldn't because nobody knew we were back together. So I had to resort to smiling at him instead and crying on the inside because I just wanted to support my boyfriend and show him love.

       I would just have to do that after the show.

       Hunter got onto the stage to receive his award and also to say a few words. "First of, I would like to thank everyone who voted for me," Hunter said. "My fans, my friends, my family. I wouldn't even be up here, or even have been nominated, if it weren't for every last one of you supporting me throughout the way. And I would really like to thank my best friend, for always being there when I need it and for giving me honest opinions about my songs, even if it's not what I want to hear. I definitely wouldn't have made it this far without you."

       My heart... It hurts.

       I loved him so much, I was actually ready to burst into tears.

       We were actually getting close to the end of the show so I was told to go backstage so I could get ready for my performance. Hunter was already back there and since there weren't too many people around, and no camera, I pulled him into a hug. "Congratulations," I said.

       "Thank you," Hunter said as he hugged me back. "Really. Thanks for sitting at the computer for three hours straight voting for me."

       "Hey, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't support you?" I asked.

       "Fair point," Hunter said before giving me a lingering kiss, then pulling away to smile at me. "I love you."

       "I love you too," I said. "Now are you ready for our performance to blow everyone's minds."

       "But of course."

       We had to get changed into the outfits we were going to wear during the performances so we weren't wearing our suits on stage. Otherwise they might get ruined for what was planned.

       I was starting to get very impatient because I just wanted to perform. I hadn't done it for a while now and I was itching to get on stage. 

       Probably more so now that Hunter was performing with me and everyone was going to know we were back together.

       Finally, it was time for my performance so I got on the stage with the microphone, waiting for the music to start playing. And once I started singing, I felt as happy as I could ever feel. This was my life and I absolutely loved it.

       Right before the first chorus came, some rain-like effects came, pouring down on the stage because why not? I really wanted the performance to stand out and what better way to do it than perform in the rain?

       The audience definitely liked it because they cheered loudly.

       They cheered even louder when Hunter came on the stage during the second chorus and I didn't blame them. I would have cheered too for him.

        Performing with Hunter again was such an amazing feeling. When we broke up, we couldn't even perform together anymore. It was too hard on the both of us but now?

       It was so refreshing. I absolutely loved it.

       When the performance ended, the audience still cheered loud. Hunter gave me a side hug and kissed my cheek which made me smile widely as the hosts of the awards show came back on the stage to close off the show and once they did, I gave Hunter a proper hug.

       I didn't think I could be any happier right now.

aweeeeee i love them so much <3 at first i was gonna have them reveal they were dating again by hunter mentioning his boyfriend in his speech but then i was like NAH LET'S DO A PERFORMANCE.

and i should go to bed now since it's 1 am aahahahah. i started writing this late since i was too busy writing my new son's book (love and support arjun pls)
