"You're the only one that he'll talk to."

"What if he kicks me out too?"

"You're his best friend, he practically went into depression when you were gone."

"No he didn't."

"He was jumping for joy went he got a letter from you."

"He doesn't jump for joy, he just smiles like a fool."

"See you know him better than I know him!"

"That's a lie."

"Melody."

"I'm going, I'm going, but I'm telling you this isn't going to end up good."

"How do you know that?"

"Because he can hear everything that we're saying."

"Melody, please, I don't want him to go through it all again..."

Silence. Both of them stopped talking, like no one wanted to finish that sentence. The door creaked open and soft footsteps filled the room.

"Melody-"

"Before you kick me out Kyle, please, just don't. I don't know what to say, I don't know how you're feeling, and I don't know what to say when you're crying, because your eyes are always red like you spend hours crying only in a few minutes, and you're eyes look empty, and your hair always, somehow always gets magically messy, and you always close everyone out, and it makes me scared." Melody said all quickly. I stood up, letting my messy hair cover my eyes.

"Why are you scared of me?" I asked her quietly.

"I'm not scared of you. I'm scared that you're going to stop talking again, but this time it's going to be my fault." Melody boiled out. I put my arms around her and she laid her head on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." I told her. Melody's tears drilled onto my arms, but I didn't brush them away. She wanted to make me feel better, yet I was the one holding her while she cried.

"We're such messed up kids." She said.

"Yeah, we really are." I said.

"And broken, broken like a glass." Melody said.

"It's what bullies do to you." I told her.

"What are friends for then?" She asked me dead serious. "Bullies just keep coming back and back, and they crack you more and more, and brake you more and more."

"Friends are there to tell you that every mirror can be fixed with glue." I told her. "And with duck tape."

"Lot's of duck tape." Melody agreed. We didn't say anything for a few seconds.

"Movie?" I asked.

"Movie." She agreed.

Author's Note

That seemed like a good place to stop. This is the 55 part in this book, not all of them are parts, I think maybe three aren't, maybe two, but this is about how long Mr. Nobody is. It's only July in this book, and this book is ended at the end of August. I finished Mr. Nobody in 2016, I want to finish Broken Silence in 2017. It's only March, so maybe it will happen.

A third book about Kyle and Melody?

Word Count (yeah it's short, sorry): 498
