Melody was smiling the whole way down the little path I created. She walked carefully, making sure not to step over and of the flowers. Before we reached our little treehouse castle, I covered her eyes.

"Don't look yet." I whispered to her. I didn't know why I was whispering, it just felt right. Like if I weren't to whisper I might ruin it all.

"I don't know where I'm going." Melody replied, lowering her voice too.

"I'll guide you where, do you trust me?" I asked her. She didn't say anything for a scary three seconds.

"Yeah. I do." She whispered back. I lead her all the way down the path, and stopped right in front of our treehouse. I took a few seconds to just look how Mother Nature had pulled through. The flowers were as bright as ever, some handing over the posts that held the tree house up, flowers were blooming everywhere. I smiled at it all, how it had turned out, how it actually didn't look like trash. I slide my hands from Melody's eyes, and smiled wider at her reaction. Her jaw dropped, but her smile reached past her eyes. She threw her arms around me and hugged me really tight.

"Kyle James Forest you're the best person on this whole entire world!" She yelled. "This is beautiful." She added after she released the hug. "When did you do this all?" She asked me.

"Before you can home, it only took me a few hours." I shrugged.

"Only." Melody said. "This is so pretty, this is beautiful." She said.

"Come on," I said. "We have a whole kingdom to start building again." I told her.

We climbed up the rope ladder to the the treehouse castle. Melody ran her fingers over the flowers, and I could help but smile. We still had some wood, that we had taken from Melody's family's ranch, of corse they said they didn't need it. We decided to use all of it for the roof.

"Afterwards we paint." Melody said.

"Paint what?" I asked her.

"Well, one of the two of us has an artist's hand. One that can paint, things like unicorns and dragons." Melody said. "And that person isn't me."

"The main color with be green as a background then." I told her.

"I can do that part." Melody said.

"We'll need to buy paint." I told her.

"If only we had that money that we would be winning in New York." Melody said. "I still can't believe we won a trip to New York." Melody added.

"I can't believe that we wrote an essay that actually won something." I said.

"That's true, underdogs for life." Melody said.

"Yeah, Alice was not happy with my grades for 8th grade. I mean it wasn't too bad, the last trimester I got only two C's, two B's and the rest A's.

"Kyle, we only have nine classes. Actually you only have eight since you don't do any musical instrument." Melody said. "Two of the classes being, gym and arts."

"Well I got a B this trimester in music."
I told her.

"Music is the easiest class to get an A in! How did you fail that!" Melody asked.

"I thought we were building a roof, not debating how bad my grades are." I told her.

"Alright let's built this roof!" Melody said happily.

In two hours we got the framing done. By then we were drenched in sweat, thirty, and our hands were red.

"How did you learn to make framing to a roof anyway?" Melody asked.

"YouTube." I replied. Melody shrugged, but didn't ask anything else about the framing.

"Next time we bring gloves and water." Melody said.

"A lot of water." I said.

"A lot." Melody agreed.

"Home?"

"Home."

Author's Note

Alright this is a little shorter chunk of a chapter. If you don't remember, Kyle is great at drawing/painting, and all that fancy art stuff. It was said more in Mr. Nobody, and I haven't brought it up in this book as much, but it's still there.

Oh, so what happened to me. So I had a huge writer's bloke, and I kept wanting to just quite writing Broken Silence (stupid I know, I love writing this book), but I hadn't updated for a while, and I always have three chapters made before I publish one. I had to force myself to open the Wattpad app and click on Broken Silence. But the second I started writing this chapter, i loved it again and my writer's block was gone.

My solution for writer's blocks: write.

Ironic right?

Yeah it is. So, I put like a bunch of cool (yeah not really. That's not true. I'm a nerd. And a dork. I'm not cool), stuff in my "Online Dairy" (what used to be, Ideas and Short Writing Contests). I put a bunch of info on Broken Silence, Mr. Nobody, and all my other books.

So please check it out.

Thanks!
