"But before you listen to the recording I'd like to take Jungkook's statement so if you may give us some privacy?"

Y/n's parents nod and walk out of the interrogation room. They sit on the bench outside, waiting for them to finish.

"Why are you standing? Please have a seat," Jin-soo said offering him to sit as he also sat down.

"You're Miss Y/n's friend?" he asked.

"Hm," Jungkook nods.

"When was the last time you talk to her before the incident?" Jin-soo asked.

"The day when the incident happened," Jungkook replied.

"Hm, I see. What did you guys talk about?" he again asked.

"Nothing serious."

"Look Jungkook, you can't just shrug it off like this. This case is sensitive and every little detail is important. So I want a description of the situation," he says strictly.

"Fine, so..."

I was at our school campus. It was lunch period. I was reading a book at that time and all of a sudden Y/n came walking toward me. I look up to her passing a smile & she did the same. 

But in her smile, there seemed a slight tension & hesitation.

"Hello Y/n, where have you been? I've been waiting for you. Come and sit," I said patting at the empty space beside me.

She sats down showing the same mysterious smile.

"Are you okay? You don't look good," I asked as I couldn't figure out her behavior.

"Nothing kook, you can say I'm a bit hesitant about something."

"I see, what is it?" I asked looking at her.

She stayed silent for a moment. It felt like she don't want to answer my question so I didn't force her to answer.

"Jungkook-ah?" she called me.

"Hm?" I hummed looking back at her.

"There's this thing I've been thinking of telling you..." she paused.

"What is it?" I asked smiling, trying to give her some courage.

"I-I love you. Actually, I loved you for a very long time. I just- I just didn't get enough courage to speak up for myself."

I shouldn't be saying this but I kinda felt uneasy hearing her confession. Of course, she isn't someone you'd reject. She is a very charming person with a quirky personality. But it's just...I didn't expect her to confess her love for me. I never liked her in that way and her confessing to me made the situation get a bit awkward.

"Uh- actually Y/n...I don't like you in that way. I'm sorry," I reject her, showing a bit of guilt.

She showed a smile that holds pain & regret. I put my hand on her shoulder out of worry.

"I'm sorry okay?" I say.

"It's fine, it's not like you've to like me back just because I like you," she said with a smile but her eyes were starting to glisten.

She looked at her wristwatch as if she is getting late & then looked back at me with a weak smile.

"Jungkook, I've to go somewhere. I'll get going then," she said patting my shoulder and standing up in a hurry.

"You'll be okay right?" I asked showing concern since she didn't look okay.

She chuckled and shakes her head.

"Of course, I'll be fine pabo~ Bye," she says and waves at me, and walks away.

"Is that all that happened?" Jin-soo asked.

"Yes," he nods.

"You didn't see her since then?" he again asks.

"Yes," Jungkook replies.

"You guys were best friends, right? Then how come you didn't call her the entire day?" he asks.

"Later that day in the evening, I had to attend a function so I kept my phone switched off for the rest of the day," Jungkook replies.

"I see. Is there anything more you find suspicious of her? Or any incident that seemed suspicious?"

"Now that you ask this...I remember something. Once..."

As usual, I was again at the school campus, reading a book. Y/n approached with and look that showed an unknown expression. Almost as similar to disquiet.

"Y/n? Are you in some problem?" I asked, trying to read her expression.

She didn't reply but sat beside me & put her head on my shoulder. She sighed heavily.

"Jungkook, there's something I need to tell you. It's about-"

Before she could speak Ari noona came & sit with us. With her presence, Y/n looked a bit worried. I can sense fear too. As if her presence strangely had an impact.

"What are you guys doing? Y/n you were saying something?" Ari noona said smiling looking her in the eyes.

Honestly speaking her smile was a bit odd. Y/n gulped & smiles nervously.

"N-not really. I-I was going to tell him about the recent song I heard," she replied stuttering nervously.

"I see," Noona says nodding. "I'll get going then. You guys enjoy," she says smiling as she stood up.

But before standing up she whispered something which I also heard.

"Good."

She leaves from there afterwards. I decided on asking what she was about to say because I thought she was shy to tell me in front of our seniors.

"Y/n, you were saying something?" I asked.

"Uhm, it's nothing."
