**Early in the morning**

After Damon had left, she took a shower to remove all that sweat. Many thoughts were going on her mind Tyler....Damon....and Klaus. She couldn't just remove him from her mind. Something alluring about him drawn her to it but she could not guess what. She had indeed been a bit too harsh with him when he just wanted to help. After fifteen minutes, she was done. Her phone was suddenly ringing, she looked at the I.D and saw that it was Kat.

"Hey Kat! What's up" she said in her cheerful voice.

 "I heard what happened" Kat mumbled and spoke

 "Can we meet up about four?" Caroline didn't want to talk about that but saying no to Katherine will put her in more trouble as she is already.

 Since she had a lot of time before her, she decided to watch her favorite series 'Arrow' and she secretly had a little crush on Oliver Queen.

 'Who wouldn't have?' she thought.

She was watching Oliver saving Felicity thinking it was her that she was saving.

 "It's been already that long" she muttered.

 Since today The Russian Tea Time wasn't opening Caroline and Katherine were going to spend a girl's night. She opted to wear a red cocktail strapless dress, the red color was bright and bold and suited almost everyone skin color and she looked very beautiful in that dress. She put on some make-up accompanied with her eyeliner and red dark lipstick. Spraying some perfume and grabbing her purse, she hired a cab to take her to The Bernadine.

**At the Bernadine**

It was a French seafood restaurant. The inside was breath taking, flowers everywhere and there was a spectacular space. Classic elegance. She wondered why a few months ago, a group of people criticize their food. She remembered their word correctly 'Classic French but only adequately done. Tasteless, virtually undressed food. They comment it a 'Mediocre Food'.

"Excuse me! I'm searching for Katherine Pierce" Caroline asked a woman working there.

 "You must be Miss Forbes" she asked her, she nodded. 

"She's right over there" she said pointing her finger towards Katherine. 

"Thanks, I'll find my way".

"Hey" Caroline smiled at her best friend.

 "Hey" she replied.

 A pregnant silence was upon them, neither of them talked.

 "Am sorry" Kat smiled with an apology face.

 "For what?" Caroline raised her eyebrows at her. 

"Tyler" confirmed. Before Caroline could say something, the waiter arrived

 "What would you like to command miss?" he winked at Caroline.

 "I'll take the King Fish- Osetra Caviar Tartar accompanied with the smoked Creme and the Fraîche emulsion" she smiled at him. 

"Good choice" the waiter replied flirty.

 "I'll take the same" Kat said annoyingly. 

"If that's al-"Caroline interrupted him 

"Bring us your best wine... which says Cabernet Franc" she winked at him making Katherine rolled her eyes.

"What?" Caroline exclaimed.

 "Flirting with a waiter" Kat said.

 Caroline just laughed "loosen up".

 "About Ty-"Kat started but she cut her off 

"Don't please. I just don't want to talk to it. 

Give me time" Caroline said looking at her hands.

 Katherine nodded "Very well then. So what is it between you and Klaus?" she asked her. 

"Nothing" Caroline said but Katherine did not believe her

 "seriously I did not sleep with him Kat. 

Don't make that face. We are just friends"

"Friends huh?" Kat raised an eyebrows at her.

 "You and I both know that relationships are stronger when you're friends first, and a couple of second lovers" Kat said not happy about Caroline and Klaus relationship.

 Now Caroline was mad "You are talking when you obviously still have feelings for Elijah" she spat at in her face. 

When she saw how Katherine's eyes went wide and her face saddened with guilt, she regretted what she said. 

'If only I could take it back' she thought.

 "Am sorry I didn't mean it" she muttered.

 "I know you mean it that way Caroline "Kat said looking at her with a hurt expression. 

"Am sorry" she said once again. 

"I know you are Care, but you are right on the other hand I still somehow have unresolved feelings for Elijah"

"Some feelings are just stronger than fear, longing, desire. Am not the right person to judge "she smiled at her.

 Minutes later, their food arrived. "Bon Appétit" they said in unison. 

The food was amazing. The taste promoted contentment, calmness, cheerfulness, and satisfaction. Food tastes better when you it with friends or family. 

"So what do you intend to do about Elijah's case" Caroline said swallowing her food.

 "I don't know... it's like am torn between two boys and I don't know who to choose and it's killing me" she admitted.

Caroline stared at her friend, she wondered what she would do in that kind of situation. But she was really no one's first choice, she had always been the second choice. 

"You know there is a saying" she said making Katherine looked at her

 "If you have to choose between two people you're in love with, choose the second one. If you really loved the first, there would never have been a second person...." She finished. 

"You think it's that easy. Seeing your first love... the one you had thought that you will be marrying, have kids and grew old. When choosing between two chocolates, you know that every choice is sweet but when choosing between two lovers, you know that you are gonna break a heart" Kat said desperately. 

Caroline wasn't making that easy for her.

"Why did you and Elijah break up anyways?" Caroline asked her. 

"I was very young when we first met and I instantly fell in love with him. But like I said I was very young, and when I said no and told him that to give me time, he agreed. But I end up leaving the country" Kat said in a sad voice.

Caroline nodded, she was thinking about the words Katherine said when a thought came into her little mind

 "Wait wait. You said you say 'no'. What does that mean?" she asked confused. 

Kat was blushing and was about to talk when she interrupted her

 "He propose you a marriage?" Caroline exclaimed happily. 

"Oh my god that's so sweet" she started blabbering.

"Yea... it was but I was too young" Kat said in a gloomily tone.

 "Enough talking about me. Now it's you who we are gonna talk about" Katherine said.

 "Are you sure you want to be friends with Klaus. And why Klaus Mikaelson of all people Caroline" Katherine sighed.

 "What do you mean?" she said bewildered.

"I don't want to judge you Care, but the Mikaelson are not a very respectable and charitable family. Very little is known about them and people feared them especially Klaus. He is incapable of real feelings" she explained to her.

 "But you had dated Elijah" Caroline said. 

"I dated you're right. At first I found him a quirky and upbeat person but with time when he started courting me I find that he lives by a code of honor and morality. He valued qualities such as compassion, honor and virtue. He is more mature, spirited compared to Klaus and his younger brother Kol".

"Why are you saying all of this to me? I don't even know them. I barely know Klaus" Caroline said.

 "That's the reason Care. You barely know Klaus. Trust me when I say he is a bad person. He is the most dangerous in his family. I don't know why but he had taken a liking to you and he will try to woo you in his bed like he once tried with me" Katherine said looking at her hands.

 "WH-what do you mean once with me?" Caroline asked her impatiently waiting for her to answer. 

"When I went at his house for the first time, he tried to take advantage of me. But I pushed him away and left" Kat said sorrowfully.

 "Did Elijah know?" Caroline tried to ask her friend who was fighting the tears from coming out.

 "Yes... they had a huge fight but once again they buried it. They lived with a promise they made when they were kids 'Always and Forever'

"Am sorry" Caroline was saying when they both heard two voices, one was familiar to Caroline and the other two well-known to Katherine

 "Now now beautiful ladies who is in for a little sassy night with the most sexy Mikaelson".

Katherine said as shocked as Caroline "It's Klaus and Kol"
