She didn't know when the lights had appeared. 

Swimming in and around the dome that was her world.

They were beautiful though.

In all shades of red and yellow, they brightened the silent and lonely world that was hers.

Till the cracks appeared.

Destroying the intricate color schemes.

She needed to stop that destruction.

The dome that had contained her world for so long had cracked.

Afraid to see what had become of her world she refused to open her eyes.

A nudge of a warm snout pushed her up.

Scared to fall she at last opened her eyes.
