There once was a far away kingdom ruled by a king and queen. One day the queen gave birth to not one but two children. Twins. A boy and girl. They both had beautiful, big, blue eyes and yellow, almost golden, hair. Their smiles can brighten any room. The boy was named Len and the girl was named Rin. Len and Rin Kagamine.

When the kingdom heard of the twins they rejoiced. The kingdom celebrated, for there was finally not one but two heirs to the throne. The whole kingdom was excited and happy......well the whole kingdom minus one. There was one woman who was not so happy about the twins. Now it wasn't the fact that they were twins that made her so upset. It was the fact that one of the twins was a girl.

The woman had plans for one of her two daughters to marry the prince when they are older. But since the prince has a twin sister then she'll become queen when the time comes. Now you might be thinking that one of her daughters could marry the prince anyways and become a princess. Well she didn't want her daughters to become princesses. She wanted them to become queen. To rule. And they can't become queen with the princess in the way.

The woman was in the crowd of celebrating people when the king and queen stepped on a stage in front of the crowd. The crowd grew silent as he spoke. "Hello my wonderful subjects. As you all know today is a glorious day. Today we celebrate the birth of my son and daughter. But also for their future. Let us hope that when it is their time to rule that they stay as close as they are right."

The crowd laughed a bit as they realized what the king met. The twins were hugging each other closely in their mother's arms as if there was some kind of link keeping them together. The queen stepped up to be beside her husband where all the citizens can see the twins. "All hail!" The king exclaimed. "Len and Rin Kagamine! The future king and queen!"

The crowd uproared with applause and cheers. The woman looked up at the twins, mostly the girl, with a menacing look that slowly turned into a smirk as she got a twisted idea. The king and queen turned from their subjects and walked of stage. The king looked at his children. They were still hugging each other but not as close as before and they were more lively and awake.

The king looked at his wife and smiled. "Did you remember the gift?" The queen asked. The king gave a confused look. "Gift? What gift?" 'Why would I have a gift?' The king thought. 'Oh my god is it our anniversary?! Did I forget again?!' The queen giggled at her forgetful husband. "The gift for the kids. The one I put in your coat pocket cause I knew you'd forget.

"Oh right!" The king pulled out the box and rubbed the back of his head, a little embarrassed. "Sorry and thank you." The king said. "It's okay and your welcome now give the kids their gift." The queen said. The king nodded. "It's time for your gift you two. The twins looked up at their father with big, curious eyes as he pulled out two silver necklaces from the box. Both of the necklaces had half a heart on them except one said Len and the other said Rin.

The king opened the hearts and saw a picture of Len in Rin's necklace and a picture of Rin in Len's necklace. When he clicked the two halves together it could clearly be seen that their arms were linked. The king showed this to the twins and they just laughed and giggled. The king pot the necklaces on them. Rin looked at her necklace with wonder and started playing with it. While Len looked at it with a confused expression and teethed on it.

The king and queen chuckled at this. "C'mon you three let's go enjoy the festivities." The queen said. The king nodded and walked towards the citizens with smiles on their faces and the twins giggling. It was a golden day...

But nothing gold can stay.

A few days later when the sky had turned a charcoal black, the twins were in their crib with their arms wrapped around each other tightly and their necklaces shining in the moonlight. A shadow washed over them and a figure looked above them. The woman narrowed her eyes at the twins. She couldn't figure out which one was the princess. That is until she saw the glint of light coming from one of the twins' necklace.

She grabbed the necklace gently and peered at the name on it. Len. The woman smirked and looked at the other twin. She quickly grabbed the baby by her small waist and tried to pick her up and tried to pick her up but the twins wouldn't let go of each other. She scowled and lifted the baby up until their arms started slipping from each other.

But as soon as they were finally apart their eyes opened as if they could sense when the other's presence was gone. They both glanced around for one another. When they couldn't find each other they started to wail loudly. The woman scowled and headed for the window. But before she could jump the king and queen burst into the room with guards behind them.

The king looked over at the crib where only a crying Len laid now. The queen rushed to the prince and picked him up trying to hush him. The king looked over to the window just in time to see someone jump out the window with the princess. The king called a search party for the princess but the guards came back empty. The link was torn....

But not broken.
