"What did you say?" Chloe growled, slowly turning her head to the left. Following her gaze, Gidget noticed that everyone was staring at Tiberius. Their looks ranged from shock to sympathy to worried. One even seemed impressed that the hawk had said something so bold to Chief Chloe, who didn't seem happy. Gidget herself was just surprised as she watched silently. His wings crossed over his chest, the red tailed hawk stepped forward and muttered, "You heard what I said. Gidget, don't you dare give her that badge."

"Last I checked, hawk, you have no right to be bossing anyone here around," Chloe spat. Wiping the drops that got on his beak, Tiberius put himself between the cat and Gidget. Looking the police chief dead in the eye, he pointed out, "Last I checked, you are a cat. You and I have been at the same level at one point in our lives."

"And yet we're not at the same level. Now give me that badge Gidget," Chloe hissed, peering around Tiberius. Gidget trembled under her angry green eyes. The hawk, meanwhile, refused to move out of the way. Getting right into Chloe's face, he stated, "Really? You are gonna fire a cop who you gave a case to solve in thirty six hours? She's done more work searching for this tiger than you imbeciles have done in the past two weeks. And, if I am correct, we still have about a day to find him. So good night chief and good luck." Walking away, he called over his shoulder, "Gidget, let's go." Glancing up at Chief Chloe nervously, Gidget silently followed Tiberius while everyone watched them.

"Come on, we got better things to be doing than chasing the illusions of an idiot," Chloe grumbled to the other officers, her statement loud enough for Gidget to hear just as the sky opened up and rained down on them.
