Throughout the day, Elisa and Coldfire took turns watching Brooklyn while he was in stone, praying he wasn't having nightmares in his sleep.

Coldfire worried about how long Brooklyn would heal for mentally. Usually, extreme moments like this saddened her greatly, wondering if Brooklyn would still remember that his clan loved him, and what her brother had been doing besides fattening him up.

Soon, the sun began to go down. Coldfire waited, seeing the skin cracking. They had removed the blanket so Brooklyn wouldn't shred it to pieces when waking up.

The skin broke, Brooklyn giving out a yawn, but it was rather tired sounding and quiet. Brooklyn blinked, rubbing his eyes. He felt really weird after the previous night, wondering what happened. The drugs were now gone from his system, but his body still was rather weak, not even able to get up from the bed. He looked around nervously, wondering if his rescue from before was actually real.

Coldfire began to talk gently. "Hello, young one."

Brooklyn looked to the female voice in a wary gaze, his ears lowered. "W-what happened...? W-Who...?" Brooklyn whimpered, a hand on his forehead from his headache that suddenly formed.

Coldfire stroked his hair like a rookery mother. "You're safe. My mate and I brought you home last night. Don't you remember?"

Brooklyn mostly shook his head, tears coming down. "D-Don't want... eat any... bad food..." He said, still clearly traumatized even after the drugs faded.

Coldfire instantly took Brooklyn into a gentle hug as best she could with her metal body. "It will be ok. We want you to feel healthy again," Coldfire said in her warm voice, a hand on Brooklyn's cheek, who accepted it.

Soon, the rest of the clan had awoken too.

Hudson and Elisa came in to see the bedridden Brooklyn, Coldfire still next to him. The elder's face looked quite mortified, seeing how depressed and scared Brooklyn was as well as being too overweight for his liking.

"How does he fare?" Hudson asked softly, walking over. Brooklyn tensed a little at the sound of a male voice, looking over to see Hudson.

Coldfire looked sad too. "Still very troubled. He hasn't told us of what has happened. But I think he can now have water."

Brooklyn's ears perked at that word, Elisa taking the cup she had ready in her hands. She smiled gently. Brooklyn trembled at the sight of the human before him.

"Here, Brook. I have a glass for you," she encouraged, handing the glass to Coldfire first, and then the cyborg gargess held it to Brooklyn, who looked at it warily.

"It won't hurt you, I promise, little one," Coldfire said, rubbing Brooklyn's hand, who soon allowed Coldfire to put the glass to his beak, taking a drink.

The water was heavenly down his throat, feeling it soothe the dryness after so long without it, causing Brooklyn to shut his eyes in bliss. It made Coldfire smile to see him enjoy it.

After drinking, Brooklyn coughed a little before speaking. "Thanks..." He croaked weakly. "W-Want more..." Coldfire rubbed his forehead.

"It will be soon. For now, you can rest until you can tell us what happened to you and what foods you ate. We'll make you something much nicer and healthier."

Brooklyn cringed. He didn't know if he even wanted food at all after that nightmare he endured. Hudson himself rubbed Brooklyn's arm too. "Ye be with friends now, Laddie. We'll take care of ye."

Soon, the red gargoyle nodded, giving a small yawn, feeling himself go back to sleep. Coldfire tucked him into bed. Despite gargoyles not needing sleep so much in their flesh except when getting old or really injured, Brooklyn was driven to the point of over exhaustion that he needed it the most. She turned to Hudson.

"Will you ask Broadway to make some soup? I think that's the best food for him right now," Coldfire instructed in her now mother like way. Hudson nodded as he got up, going to ensure it was to be done.

The rest of the clan had been waiting outside, wondering what was happening until Hudson appeared before them. They instantly started asking questions like wildfire.

"Is he ok?"

"How bad is it?"

"Will Brook get better?!"

Hudson held up his hands to quiet them. "He's sleeping for the moment until he can get better food. Broadway, will you do that?"

The aqua gargoyle's face was saddened but nodded. He now was willing to give his brother better treatment, hating to see him looking overweight. He quickly left the room to make chicken noodle soup.

Angela herself was beside with worry despite Brooklyn not being her mate. She still sort of remembered that night when Coldsteel in his body touched her and nearly carried her out of the building and was still a little angry at Brooklyn, but now knew that the real Brooklyn would never stoop that low. Tears fell down her face when she was hearing his traumatized voice come out of the room earlier.

She soon followed her mate out as well to help him make the soup too. Angela upon getting there was seeing Broadway frantically setting things up, wanting the soup to be made quickly. Angela walked over, a hand on his arm making him jump.

"Take it easy, Broadway. Brooklyn will pull through," she assured him. Broadway frowned.

"All I want is him to have a proper diet after that... that... monster tortured him with all that junk!" Broadway growled, holding his spoon hard in his hand. Angela gave him a hug.

"Which is why I'm here to help. But slowly and calmly," she said, making Broadway go red as he nodded. "Alright."

The two began to make the soup together. Meanwhile, Brooklyn himself had been tossing a little in his sleep, dreaming about Coldsteel torturing him. Coldfire did the best she could to soothe him.

Sato, meanwhile, was analyzing the blood sample to see what kind of foods Brooklyn had been overdosed with. And upon careful inspection, he saw more than the drugs. For there was quite a bit of sugar in it too and fat.

That greatly disturbed Sato after he finished looking at it, knowing he had to tell the clan and ask Brooklyn a few questions.

After a time, Coldfire heard from Angela that the soup was ready and she went up to get it, figuring it would be best if she was the one to serve it to her now sort of adopted hatchling, who was like a child with how mentally ruined he was. She nodded, stroking Brooklyn's hair some more to wake him up.

Brooklyn felt himself beginning to do so, feeling weak and strange, gazing upwards at the sight of a weird face above him again that had red eyes, but the face was gold, not steel colored. At first, he thought it really was still one of his actual rookery moms.

"M-mom...?" He asked in a croaky voice, wondering what was going on.

Coldfire shushed him softly. "Time to wake up so you can eat, love. You need your strength back."

It made Brooklyn cringe up at the idea of eating, shaking his head badly. He never wanted to see food ever again since it ruined him. "No! C-Can't... force..." Brooklyn trembled out, but Coldfire began to hum her lullaby again, mostly to calm him down but not to have him sleep yet.

"Please, Brooklyn. This food will help you feel better, trust me," Coldfire begged, even when Brooklyn jerked from hearing the word food. After hearing the desperation in the female's voice however, Brooklyn's unstable mind soon began to accept, if warily. He nodded shivering, digging into his pillow.

Coldfire stood up, still holding Brooklyn's hand. "I'll be back with the food, love. Hudson will keep you company." Brooklyn, however, held her hand tight. He didn't want her to leave.

"Don't... go..." He pleaded; ears flat.

Hudson helped pry Brooklyn's hands gently off of Coldfire's. "She'll be back soon, Laddie." Hudson told Brooklyn softly, propping him up on his pillows.

Brooklyn watched in sadness at the sight of his 'mom' leaving, not wanting her to leave him for good. Hudson knew it would take a miracle to get Brooklyn's mind back to normal again, rubbing his temples, hating to see one of the great young warriors reduced to this mess.

It took some time but soon the footsteps came; Coldfire returning back with the tray of soup and crackers, a glass of water on it too. Sato would bring in Brooklyn's medication that would also help him lose weight.

Brooklyn himself smelled the food, tensing but felt relieved to see his 'mom' back again, seeing her smile, though still nervous at the sight of the food. But it seemed to smell different and more welcoming than the garbage Coldsteel gave.

Coldfire set the tray down gently on Brooklyn's lap. She stroked his cheek under his beak, feeling him lean into her caress. "Here you go. I'll help you," she said, picking up the spoon.

Brooklyn though, shook. What if this was a ruse to make him fatter? He then kept remembering how honest and sincere his 'mom' sounded. Swallowing, Brooklyn decided it was best to be brave as much as he could, if he wanted to go on patrols again and forget about his captor.

Elisa and Hudson watched with bated breath, Coldfire spooning the soup up, bringing it over to Brooklyn's mouth. Brooklyn gingerly opened it, allowing Coldfire to feed him.

The soup had a nice, healthy taste. It went down his throat nicer than the previous food did. A little nervous smile came onto Brook's face, Coldfire feeding him some more. She was glad to see Brooklyn smile at least halfway.

"Soup... good," Brooklyn's unsteady words complimented, his body feeling warmer and more at ease than it did that while ago, having eaten as much as he could and drank some water again. The others knew Brooklyn would be kept off of solid food, minus crackers for quite some time since his belly was still very bloated.

Coldfire had a hand on his shoulder. "Good job, little one. The doctor now just wants to ask you some questions. I'll be here to help."

Brooklyn jerked at the idea of more doctors, shaking as Sato soon came in with his clipboard to write down the answers, trying to look as friendly as he possibly could.

"Hello, Brooklyn. I'm glad to see you are eating again," he greeted.

Brooklyn whimpered, his eyes bulging, Coldfire hugging him comfortingly.

Sato sat on another chair in the room. "I just want to ask you what foods you ate while being a prisoner."

Swallowing, Brooklyn struggled for quite some time to speak, until he managed to slip something out. "F-Fatty... stuff. F-fries, c-cake... b-burgers..." His belly felt queasy just thinking about those awful foods, leaning back and rubbing his stomach.

Sato frowned. Those weren't the kinds of foods a gargoyle would eat on a regular basis. He wrote those down. "Anything else?"

Shaking badly, Brooklyn at least brought up one more. "S-Sugary drinks... sodas," he choked, turning away into his pillow again.

That was all Sato needed for now, standing up. "Thank you, Brooklyn. I pray you can get well and back on your feet. Keep up what you've been doing, Coldfire. It is one of the things needed for his psyche to not be broken forever."

Coldfire agreed to those terms, murmuring more comforting words while feeling angry at her brother for abusing Brooklyn with such terrible food. Elisa had offered to take the tray out which Coldfire let her do. Brooklyn twitched and squirmed, not wanting to see doctors anymore, causing Coldfire to suddenly secure Brooklyn in her arms to give him more comfort.

Brooklyn trembled, whimpering, but then Coldfire began to rock him gently, nuzzling the broken red male, who snuggled into her hold despite her being made of metal.

In her mind, Coldfire hoped that Brooklyn's psyche wasn't completely ruined by her brother's evildoings and that there was some kind of spark hidden inside waiting to come back out.
