Astrid's POV

~2 days later~

"Well it was nice having you here. You are welcome at our shores whenever." Hiccup said as he shook hands with Alvin and the rest of the men.

"And you're welcome on ours boy. We'll message you with any news of Dagur and his schemes." Alvin said and climbed onto the boat. We all waved from the docks as they sailed away. I'll admit, he does seem to have changed, but it'll take a while for him to gain my trust back, 

"Gobber any word of that royal family that's coming?" Hiccup asked Gobber, who was standing on his left.

"We just got a letter from them saying they'll be here by tomorrow."

"And do you have any idea when that was sent?" Gobber simply shrugged. "Well then. Get ready just in case of their arrival." Gobber nodded and walked off towards the Great Hall.

"Could they really be here today?" I asked.

"I highly doubt it from what I remember when I took a vacation to that place with my dad, we spent as much time on the boat as we did in their kingdom." Hiccup said.

"So how long does it take?"

"A little bit over a week I'd say." After he said that, we heard the blow of a horn.

Hiccup's POV

There was a single blow of a horn after the outcasts had sailed off. But there were no ships coming in on this side of the island.

"West side Hiccup." Gobber said. I forgot that their home is off west. I whistled for Toothless while Astrid whistled for Stormfly and we flew to the West beach. As soon as we landed there was a single ship about 2 minutes out. 

"Who's here now?" Allysa said as her, Violet and the rest of the gang landed beside us.

"People from this far away kingdom. I forgot the name." Astrid said.

"DunBroch." Gobber said from behind Astrid.

"Thank you." Astrid said.

"Why does that sound familiar?" Snotlout asked.

"You went with me and dad when we were little. Remember when you pushed me off the boat." I said.

"Oh yeah now I remember! That was a good time." I sighed and turned back to the shores to find them getting off their ship.

"Ah so this is the legendary Berk." A large man with red-hair and a weird accent boasted. He was a large man, about the size of a Viking, and missing one leg. He carried a sword on his hip and wore a fur coat on his back. 

"Welcome to Berk and please don't be afraid of the dragons they will not hurt you unless in defense." I introduced.

"Alright then. Do you know where I can find the Chief?"

"Right here. Chief Hiccup."

"You're the Chief? You seem so young how do you handle all of this?" A woman asked as she stepped next to the king. She had long, brown hair that was separated into separate sections. She wore a green dress that went down to her feet and spoke with politeness and authority. "Oh where are my manners. I'm Queen Elinor and this is King Fergus. Oh Fergus where are the children?"

"I think they're still on the ship." 

"Go get them." She said. He stepped back onto the boat and came out with 4 more people. One looked our age, with hair as bright as Monstrous Nightmare fire and as big as a mountain. She was about as tall as her father and had a look on her face that said 'I really don't want to be here right now'. The other 3 seemed to be teenagers, probably around 13. They had curly red hair also but faces that told me they were going to be trouble.

"Well this is my wife Astrid and my daughter Mercy." I said.

"Pleasure to meet you, your madjesty." Astrid said and shook hands with them. That is the first time I've ever heard her speak like that. Usually it's just 'hello' or 'nice to meet you'.

"Well now that we have the children out here that's Merida, Princess and heir to the thone," Elinor began. "And these are the triplets Hamish, Hubert and Harris." (i had to look up all of the names XD)

"Um arre you sure those aren't going to hurt us?" Merida asked. She had the same accent as her family, but it was a little thicker.

"Oh no no they won't. Unless you're threatening them or one of us. Then you're in trouble." I said. After I finished, Cloudjumper landed behind Toothless.

"Mom glad you're here! You can meet-" I started.

"Elinor?" She said with a low tone. Almost an angry tone.

"Valka." Elinor replied with the same tone.

"Okay um how do you two know each other?" I asked.

"What are you doing on Berk?" Mom asked.

"What are you doing back? Last time I heard you were dead. Or did you fake your death?"

"I was kidnapped from my very own house."

"You still could've come back. Returned to your old life. But why didn't you?"

"I couldn't. It would have been a danger to my family and my island!"

"It's almost like you ran away from being a mother."

"Okay that's enough!" I said and stepped between them. "What is going on with you two?"

"Hiccup this isn't your fight." Astrid said from behind me. I sighed.

"Mom I want to talk to you later tonight. After dinner I'll be at your house."

"Alright." She said and flew off. I looked back at the gang and they just shrugged.

"Why don't we eat? I'm sure you're hungry after that long boat ride." I said.

"Ugh starving that food on the ship was repulsive." Merida said.

"Alright follow me to the Great Hall."

/~at the great hall~\

 "Mm this food is delicious!" Merida said as she swallowed another bite of chicken.

"She eats more then us." Astrid whispered to me.

"Definitely." I whispered in response.

"So Hiccup, what happened to your leg?" Fergus asked.

"Ah this story. Well it started when I was 15, when it was Vkings vs Dragons. And what was I doing during these battles? I was in the forge. I sharpened and made weapons the entire time. All I ever wanted was to be like my father, so I shot down the most dangerous dragon in all of Berk."

"And which one is that?" Merida asked. As soon as she finished, Toothless shot his head up.

"A Night Fury. So once I found him in the woods, he was wounded in his tail." I said and Toothless held up his tail. "I treid to kill him but something inside of me told me not to. So I realeased him but he couldn't fly on his own. So I trained him, earned his trust and built him a new tail. And together, Toothless and I showed my dad we didn't have to fight dragons by killing the queen of their nest, and my foot got badly injured when i was knocked unconcious and fell into a burning explosion."

"And Toothless dove in after him and saved him." Astrid finished. Everyone just stared at me with wide eyes and dropped jaws.

"Wow." Merida said and took another bite of chicken.

"Why did you name it Toothless?" One of the triplets asked. I looked at Toothless, and he showed them his normal, goofy gummy smile.

"How does he eat? You can't chew with gums." Merida said. He showed them hid teeth and everyone jumped. I gave Toothless another fish and he swallowed it whole.

 /~later at Valka's house~\

"What was that about earlier?" I asked as I walked in and closed the door. "Why did you get so mad when you saw her?"

"Hiccup you have to calm down."

"Okay I'm calm. Now spill it." I said and sat down in the chair across from her.

"When your father visited DunBroch with you, Elenor seemed polite, but kept asking your father questions on where I was. When he told her I was kidnapped, she just huffed and walked away."

"How do you know that?"

"Your father filled me in on everything that's happened the past years when I returned."

"Okay. Continue."

"So I finally met her and she claimed I ran away from my responsibilties as a mother because I was young. So that old relic got a little piece of my mind."

I sighed. "Just, don't do that again. I really don't want you two trying to kill each other."

"Please that woman couldn't hurt a fly. She's too uptight."

"Well you're right about the uptight part. Goodnight mom." I said

/~Haddock House~\

"What did your mom say about the whole situation when the royal red-heads came?" Astrid asked.

"Did you just call them royal red-heads?"

"Yeah cause of their crazy hair." I burst into laughter. 

"I like that." 

"Well of course. So what did yor mom say?"

"She just told me about how Elenor thinks mom ran away from her responsibilities as a parent and mom just kinda lost it."

"See this is why I was not excited for them to be here royal families think they're the best and talk down to everyone."

"You have a point. Now come on. I can tell you're tired."

"How?"

"Astrid we've been together since we were 15. I know your body language and facial expressions and let me tell you, you're tired. Now come on." I said and flung her over my shoulder.

"Hiccup are you serious?" She said and squirmed.

"Yep. Stop squirming you little worm." After I said that, she stayed still and relaxed. Once we were upstairs, I placed her on the bed and walked to change into my sleeping clothes.

"Did you call me a worm?" She asked as she changed into her night clothes.

"Yes because you wiggle around like a little worm in some dirt." I said with a smile.

"Laugh all you want fish bone." She said with her adorable little grin that makes my heart melt each time I see it. I climbed into bed and fixed the blankets so that they were evenly spread across the bed. She climbed in and rolled into the blankets, taking them all.

"Really Astrid? Are you doing this again?"

"Yes it's cold. How do you not get cold at night?"

"Well usually I have some form of blanket over me. Why don't you wear that green shirt I gave you? Those things are personal fireplaces that you wear."

"Oh I forgot about that!" She said and jumped out of bed. She started scrambling through clothes. "Found it!" She said and slipped into it. "This thing is like a mini dress on me. Look it's all the way down to my knees." She pointed out.

"It looks amazing." I said and pat the spot next to me, signaling for her to sit.

She layed down and fell asleep quiickly in my arms.

So I think that's one of the longest chapters I've ever written.
