Cywren took a deep breath as she kicked a spot of the dirt from the pitchers mound. This was the final game of their season. The Tunnel Snakes vs. the Wanderers.

"Lets go, Caster!" She heard her friend, Moira, scream from the stand, causing a smile to appear on her face.

Cywren took a deep breath, gripping the baseball before throwing it at full speed towards the hitter from the other team.

  Freddie Gomez.

He hit it, the crack of the ball hitting off the bat echoing in the stadium.

Freddie took off for first base while Sarah Lyons ran after the ball in left field, quickly throwing it to Copper who threw it to Veronica who played short stop, scaring Gomez away from second.

"Alright! Let's go!" Timebomb screamed from behind the batter, moving the metal-barred mask on his face and adjusting his glove on his sweaty hand.

Veronica threw the ball to Cywren, who caught it in a swift action. She began picking the ball up a few indices and then throwing it back in her mitt.

He nodded to Cywren, who nodded back. She played with the baseball that was in the grip of her mitt.

She took her stance on the pitchers mound, locking eyes with the catcher. Of course, Cywren could hardly take her eyes off him, yet it was the same vise-versa.

He couldn't seem to get her red hair and flawless blue eyes out of his head. He knew he had to focus on the game, otherwise he would cost the whole team.

Cywren looked back at her team that was occupying the field, then her focus went back to her new opponent.

  Butch DeLoria.

And this is the kid who would admit to murder and take the consequences if it meant he got to win the game.

Cywren threw the pitch, attempting a curve ball and succeeding. But it wasn't enough to fake out Butch.

  Homerun.

Cywren watched Veronica facepalm as Butch began running the bases.

The score was now 3-1. And the Wanderers were down.

"Give it up, Caster!" Butch shouted when he was in between second and third, making her seal her eyes closed and allowing herself to think.

She felt a pair of hands gently wrap around her wrists, making her open her eyes. There stood Timebomb, his helmet in his empty hand and his hair was dripping perspiration. He showed her a weak smile as she adapted to her current situation.

"Cy, we got this," He spoke as she shook her head.

"He knew what I was about to do! He knew, Timebomb!" She felt guilt taking over her.

"Hey, we can't change what just happened. It's over and done with. If we give up now then we'll certainly lose. I believe in you, Cy. I know you can do this," He spoke with a smile before placing a peck on her lips. He turned his heel and began marching back to home base.

Cywren stood, frozen, for a few seconds. Her brain wasn't quite registering what was going on. She thought she had caused the team a loss, but, for the first time ever, Timebomb was right.

She shook her head, giving an evil smirk to home plate where Wally Mack stood. She didn't know how, but Timebomb somehow fueled her confidence. She felt like they could do it.

"C'mon, Strawberry!" Timebomb screamed from behind Wally. Cywren smiled at his comment before inhaling a deep breath. She felt like she could, even if she couldn't. The familiar taste of dust reassured her as well.

  She could do this.

She drew her arm back, throwing the ball as hard as she could've. She closed her eyes in the middle of the pitch, scared to see the result.

"Strike one!" She heard on of the umpires yell, forcing her to open her eyes, finding Timebomb with the ball tucked away safely in his mitt. A huge grin appeared on her lips.

She did the exact same thing again, closing her eyes again.

"Strike two!" The ump screamed again. She watched a smile appear on Timebomb's face as well. His light eyes locked with her's, making her nod. He returned the gesture.

"Let's go, Cy!" Veronica cheered from behind the pitcher. Cywren drew her arm back once more, lodging the small ball towards the two boys at home plate. Her eyes were closed, waiting for the sound of the ball hitting the bat.

  Only it never came.

"Strike three! Batter out!" Cywren peeled her eyes opened, hearing the crowd cheering as Timebomb sprinted up and trapped her in a hug.

"You did it, Cy!" He cheered as she giggled. He placed a kiss on her forehead before handing her the baseball back. He began slowly walking back towards home.

  The game wasn't over yet...
