-despite his large size, willis is quite the gentle giant, he would wish no harm on any creature, and has a soft spot for young animals, especially humans. he loves seeing the wonder in their eyes, the bright smiles on the faces of young children, their little chattering when they tell friends and family about everything going on in their lives, he loves their innocence and their little personalities just beginning to show. he treats everything from the smallest buttercup to the largest draft horse with equal gentle respect and kindness, and he is always so delicate with everything, as if he is afraid he might break it/them. because of this, he isn't a good ride for beginners because he doesn't always do as they ask because he fears putting them in danger.

-the grulla stallion is a good sport, he will always congratulate others that he competes against, especially if they deserve it, and to those that don't place as well, he always offers a word of encouragement and tries to make them feel better about their performance. willis knows that the biggest destroyer of confidence and self-esteem is constantly getting down about a singular mistake, and even if it cost a whole competition, he always treats it like a learning experience and encourages others to have the same mentality.

-willis is always focused, on anything and everything, he is constantly aware of where things are and what's going on, upon meeting an obstacle, his hyper-focus helps him to not waver from a task and complete it quickly and efficiently. though with this focus comes his steely determination to finish what he starts, meaning he will never back off something he starts, which becomes a problem when the said problem gets too out of hand for him to handle on his own, especially because he doesn't like to accept help from others. but he won' allow himself to take a break and will end up working himself into a pissy mood.

-he is very prideful, willis doesn't like asking for help with issues he faces in his life and has a hard time accepting help from those that insist upon it. he isn't overly prideful at all, but he's enough that he feels the need to be the big 'macho man.' the one that can do everything on his own and doesn't need help. he will always refuse assistance and often looks own upon those that need a helping hand, seeing them as weak. though that doesn't change the way he treats them, but just the way he thinks about them.

-willis is quite the stubborn fool, he can be a bit lazy and ignore riders or just downright act out so he doesn't have to work, especially if he doesn't agree with them. though he does come around in that field, but in any other scenario, the quarter horse will always hold fast to his own beliefs and opinions and will not ever change them, even when facts are completely against him. it is nearly impossible to get this stallion to change his view on a subject, the only real way being direct proof, and sometimes even then he refuses to accept being wrong.

-nothing gets past this stallion, and though he isn't a high-strung, looky type of horse, willis is alert to everything going on around him. and though he is a gentle, calm creature, he keeps his eye on everything and rarely spooks, making him a reliable animal. he is always alert to changes within the body, whether a rider on his back is suddenly gripped with fear, or if they are finally feeling relived because they realize that he is going to keep them safe, or in conversation, the stallion is sensitive to changes in body language, and can often tell if one is lying or keeping out part of a story.

-willis is a very dominant male, he is the boss and if that can't be accepted then he does anything in his power, and that means anything, to show off that he is indeed the alpha. he doesn't take any disrespect from anyone and will always be sure to put an insolent horse in their place. however, when he is off-property, he understands that that isn't his domain and thus he keeps his head down and assumes the role of the sweet baby he is.

-this male in particular can tend to be a bit lazy, and though he isn't lazy when its needed, he has a streak of pushing his riders to the limit with their patience. if a rider tells him to move forward, but does so without a lot of confidence, he picks up on that and won't yield to their leg. willis needs a strong leader, a rider with a lot of confidence otherwise he won't show them a shred of respect. if the stallion doesn't feel like doing something, he is going to need a firm hand and strong presence to convince him to keep moving.

-willis is one of those horses that its very hard to earn his respect, but he won't give any respect to another if they don't respect him, and that's only the first step, and depending on the first impression of this male, it may be more difficult to find any respect for him than if he were to be seen in a different light. and while it doesn't seem like a big deal, without this horse's respect, your place on the totem pole may as well be nonexistent, at that point you become an untouchable in his kingdom.
