"Woah, everything alright?" Hawks peered into the room. He eyed in her formal attire from top to bottom. "That's hot!" She loved hearing his voice compliment her. A soft smile warmed her cheeks. However, the reality soon overshadowed her happiness.

The tears gathered in the corner of her eyes forcing her to drop her head low allowing her hair to cover her face.

"Is there something I should know?" He held her shoulders peering into her face. She wrapped her hands around him sinking her face into his chest, breathing in his scent. She felt his arms slowly wrap around her.

She wailed long enough to loose breath, coughed and gasped, tears cascading down her cheeks. Hawks wrapped her tighter, resting his cheek on her forehead. The frustration was overbearing. The regret of ignoring the warning consumed her thoughts. If she had listened she would have had a decent paycheck, better friends, a new boyfriend and...

a family to come back to.

After a long pause, she found the words. "I lost my family. I was expelled..."

Hawks caressed her long enough to help her breathe. "It was Dabi..." she continued. "It was all his fault. He-he had a plan to ruin my entire life."

The rest of the story fell out her lips uncontrollably. The reality of reliving every scene in her memories haunted her. Hawks shot a quick glance at the door, slapped his palms against the wall behind her and met her lips with his. Her eyes grew wide when she was rudely interrupted. His lips travelled along her neck continuing to her collarbone. Her heavy breath softened, slowly sedated by his alluring scent. Her eyelids closed and she threw her head back on the wall, a long sigh left her lips.

"Oh-" Dabi cocked his head to one side, leaning his elbow on the wall. His hair was down, torso was damp with the dew from his hot shower, the towel slung around his shoulders. "Didn't know the fun started without me."

The sound of the kisses grew sloppier, none of the two were willing to respond. Dabi smirked to himself and strut toward the bar, burning his towel to ashes.

The wet kisses slowly crawled up from her collarbone to her earlobe, making her ecstatic. "I have a plan," Hawks breathed into her ear. His lips tickled her ear when he whispered, making her giggle with delight.

"What plan?" She chuckled. His palm came crashing over her mouth, throwing her head back. His kisses crawled to the other ear, taking her face into his palm. "Promise to keep it a secret from Dabi."

He stopped kissing, waiting on her response. With little regard to what was said, she held him closer, filling the emptiness in her heart with his desirable aura. He pulled away and gave her a firm look.

"Promise," he noticed that she had a different look about her. She wrapped her fingers around his neck begging for him to come closer, forcing him into a kiss. Her tongue played with his but he didn't follow. He had to use a bit of his strength to pull them apart.

"I'm sorry," she looked at him apologetically. "I – I don't know what came over me. It - It's just that – I've fancied..." He didn't let her finish.

"Now isn't the time," he put a finger on her lip. The distance between them felt like they were miles apart even when he was standing so close. The-walls-have-ears, he mimed as he spread his wings, turned on his heel and flew out the window.

That's when she had decided.

She was going to run.
