"John B, what are we doing at the police station?" Quinn said as Kie drove up to the destination John B requested. He sighed as Kie stopped the car, shaking his head slightly. "Somebody's gotta tell them what happened."

Pope took another hit from JJ's vape after he finished Quinn's blunt. He let out a loud, harsh cough, making JJ hit his back to help him. "Easy there, chief."

JJ sighed, clapping his hands. "All right. I'm just gonna be real with you right now. You might end up in the lion's den, but you don't go there on purpose. It's fundamental. Just like my old man always told me, you should never ever trust cops, no matter what the circumstance is." Kie scoffed, looking back at JJ through the rearview mirror. "Your old man's an abusive liar."

Pope pointed at JJ, nodding his head. "I agree with JJ. Fuck the police." Quinn squinted at Pope from the passenger seat before turning to JJ. "How high is he?" She asked JJ, placing the back of her hand on Popes forehead to check his temperature. Pope slapped her hand away, making Kie roll her eyes at him. "You goin' to the dark side now?"

"When's the last time the police helped us?" JJ asked and John B straightened up. "Peterkin looked out for me, all right? Tried to, at least." Quinn's face softened at his words, nodding her head slightly. John B gave her a grateful smile bed for turning to the rest of the group. "They need to know."

John B climbed out of the van and walked into the station as Quinn swiped the vape out of Popes hands, making the boy whine.

Quinn turned to him with a 'really?' expression. Pope sighed, rolling his eyes slightly before nodding. Quinn let out a happy laugh, taking a hit of it.

"Kie! Start the car!" John B's voice echoed as he ran out of the station, towards the car. "Start the car, Kie!"John B yelled again once he got inside the car.

Officers started to run out of the station as Kie looked back at him. "What the fuck did you do?" John B looked at Kie like she was crazy, pointing at the officers that were getting closer. "The cops!"

"Shit!" JJ yelled as he and Pope peaked their heads out the back door. "Go! Kie, drive! Go!" Pope yelled but Kie was taking too long for Quinn's liking.

"Jesus fuck, Kie!" Quinn cursed under her breath, crawling over the dashboard and getting on top of Kie, slamming her foot on the gas as Kie looked at her like she was crazy.

"Quinn!" Kie yelled, looking at Quinn with wide eyes as she crawled out from under her, letting Quinn take the drivers seat as the blonde shrugged. "What you were taking too long!"

"Stop the car! Right now!" Quinn could hear one of the officers yell but Quinn kept her foot hard on the gas

"What did you do?" Kie yelled, turning around to look back at John B who was looking at Kie's door in shock. Kie turned her head on saw the lady officer holding onto her door, making Quinns eyes go wide from the drivers seat. "Open it!" Quinn yelled. Kie looked at Quinn skeptically before opening the door, making the officer lose their grip on the door and let go.

"Pull over!" The voice of the officer screamed. Their voice getting quieter and quieter as the Pogues got away.

...

The Pogues sat in Kie's car, right on the coast of the island by the ticket booth for the ferry as the radio talked about Sheriff Peterkins murder. JJ sighed from the leaned back seats he, Quinn and John B were squished in.

"Let's game this out. Maybe you guys can help, being the smart ones and all, but... who are the cops going to believe? Ward Cameron or us? So the accuser is a bigshot developer, kind of lord of the island, got the governor on speed dial kind of person, and the accused... is John B, who is... pretty much a homeless 16-year-old boy at the moment." JJ said and John B slightly raised his head up so he could see JJ from over Quinn. "Thanks."

JJ leaned over Quinn to get to John B, making Quinn's eyes go wide as she leaned back it it the seat more. "Shit. Okay, man. Yucatan, all right? I'm saying that's the only option. What other option do you have?" Quinn blinked a few times before turning to JJ. "Can we switch seats or something? I can't really breathe."

Kie looked back from the passenger seat to see what Quinn was talking about and groaned. "Oh my God. JJ, get off of her." Pope's eyes went wide, spinning around on his seat to look at the scene. "Enough with the Mexico bullshit. Sarah will bail me out." John B said as Quinn and JJ switched spots.

Pope sighed, leaning back in his seat. "She did witness the whole thing." John B turned to Pope, nodding. "Thank you." "And she's gonna snitch on her brother?" Quinn asked, now sitting up in the seat behind the drivers seat. JJ pointed at Quinn, nodding in agreement. "Not happening, bro. Okay? We've gotta get you off the island. The ferry. It's the only way."

"Exit stage left while you still can." Quinn said and Pope smiled, turning from the drivers seat to look at Quinn. "Ninth grade Quinn in her theater phase just popped out, didn't she?" Quinn turned to Pope, a slight glare on her face. "Shut up."

"Guys, just get down." Kie said, gesturing for John B to get lower into his seat. "Sarah's not a Pogue, John B." JJ mumbled, making Pope sigh. "Yeah. You can't stay here, man."

Quinn pulled her lips into a line, turning to John B. "Okay, how 'bout this; I'll go out and get you a ticket on the ferry. It'll be a way to get you off the island a-s-a-fucking-p." John B sighed, nodding his head. She got out of the car as Pope raised his hand. "I'll go with her."

Pope quickly sped up to catch up with her, leaning down slightly so he could talk in her ear. "So what's the plan?" Quinn brows furrowed, turning to look up at Pope. "I just explained the plans." Pope sighed, shaking his head. "No. This is just small talk so it doesn't look suspicious when we're just walking and not talking."

Quinn squinted, looking ahead before shaking her head and looking back at Pope. "It looks suspicious if we're whispering like this."

Quinn noticed Pope staring off at something ahead of them, making her roll her eyes. "Are you even listening to me?!" Pope slowly pointed ahead and Quinn quickly turned to see what he was looking at.

Her eyes instantly grew twice in sizze at the "FERRY CLOSED" sign but that wasn't their main concern. Right under it was a wanted poster with John B's face on it. "Shit." Quinn mumbled, look around the block before ripping the paper off the tree, grabbing Popes hand and leading him back to the car as he mumbled words in shock and worry.

"Okay. Okay. All right."

Kie looked at him like he was crazy. "Pope, can you chill out please?" Quinn sighed, climbing back into her spot on the backseat with JJ and John B as Pope got in the drivers seat. Quinn turned to John B with a slight frown. "So, um... okay, so, bad news. The ferry's closed, and there is this."

She handed JJ and John B the paper, making Kie's face scrunch, not being able to see it. "What is that? What is this."

"Well, John B, uh... this is a good framer of you." JJ mumbled, flashing the paper to John B before handing it to Kie to let her see. Kie looked at the paper and groaned, rubbing her temples. "Okay, so the whole island's lookin' for John B right now."

Quinn leaned over JJ to see the price for John B's arrest from the paper in Kie's hand and chuckled. "That's a lot of money." JJ sighed, slapping his hand down on John B's shoulder. "Congratulations, John B. You're famous."

Kie turned around to face the three in the backseat, shaking her head slightly as she handed Quinn the poster back. "Guys, we got to get to the HMS. We need small, no running lights..." "It's at the Château, Kie." JJ said before sarcastically putting his hand to his chin as if he were thinking. "And I wonder if the cops got the entire place staked out. Let me think. Oh, yeah. No. They definitely have that place locked down."

Pope sighed, shaking his head. "Let me think. Just give me a second." Pope mumbled before his eyes went wide, turning around in his seat. "JJ." Pope said, making the blond boys head lift up. "What?"

"Does your dad still have that boat? The cigarette boat?" Pope asked and Quinn's eyes widened, turning to JJ. "The Phantom."

Pope turned to Quinn, pointing at her before turning back to JJ. "Yeah, the Phantom. The one he used to race." JJ pulled his lips to a line, nodding. "Maybe." Pope did a small happy cheer, turning back to the front to hit the steering wheel as he nodded. "You could get right up the coast, no problem."

"I don't know where the keys are." JJ said and Pope eyes went wide in a sarcastic manner, shaking his head. "Well, find them." Pope let out a crazy exhale before pointing at the road ahead of them. "Why is nobody moving forward?"

"Maybe because we're parked." Quinn mumbled before leaning forward and putting her head in between the two front seats, looking at Pope. "Can you relax?"

Kie turned to Quinn angrily. "How much weed did you give him?" Quinn's eyes went wide, moving back to the backseat as she raised her hands in surrender. "I didn't give him any! I don't share!"

John B leaned over JJ, taking the poster off of Quinn's lap to read it before his eyes went wide. "Guys. Your car's on the poster."

"Can we move it?" Pope yelled, honking the horn, making a Quinn's eyes go wide as she leaned back in her seat to not be seen in embarrassment. "Don't honk the horn." Kie grumbled.

"It's that guy. Right there." A kid just a few feet away front the car screamed. Quinn's eyes went wide, leaning down in her seat and picking up the blanket off the floor, throwing it over John B's face.

"Shit." John B mumbled, his words muffled slightly from the blanket. JJ sighed, turning to the front seats. "We got a snitch. Pope, turn the car on."

"Hey! He's right there!" The kid screamed again as people started to crowd the car. Quinn looked at the man pressing his face against her window with wide eyes before turning to Pope in the front. "Pope, turn the frickin' car on!"

"I am trying!" Pope whisper yelled as another man banged on John B's window just as John B decided to peak his head out of the blanket. "There he is! He's right there!" The man screamed.

"Dude... Turn the car on!" John B grumbled angrily as JJ hit Popes seat. "Go, go, go, go, go!" Pope suddenly slammed on the gas, making the car fly forward and hit the car in front of them. Quinn groaned, holding her forehead from her head hitting the back of Popes seat. "Pope! Jeez!"

"Dude, back up!" JJ yelled but Pope kept hitting the gas to go forward, making Kie groan. "The other way!"

Pope suddenly did a sharp turn, driving on the grass in the center of town. A man jumped out of the way just before Pope ran him over, making Quinn shriek. "What are you doing?"

"We'll bump out." JJ yelled once they hit road again. "Watch out!" Kie yelled just as Pope ran over a mail box. Quinn held onto the headrest of the drivers seat as if her life depended on it as Pope started swerving of the road. "What the fuck!" Quinn yelled as Pope laughed.

"I'm livin' my best life now." Pope breathed out as he laughed, staring at the road with wide eyes. Kie rubbed her forehead, shaking her head. "My mom'll kill me."

"Who the fuck was the one to let him drive!?" Quinn yelled as Pope ran over another mailbox. JJs eyes went wide, shaking his head as he hit Popes shoulder. "Stop!"

Pope slammed on the breaks, everyone in the car flying forward slightly, making Quinn groan. "Oh, jeez."

"John B, get out." Pope said, nodding his head out of the car. JJ looked at Pope before nodding and turning to John B. "He's right. We'll draw the cops, you run. I'll get the rig, and I'll meet you in the dump tomorrow, okay? Three o'clock, okay?"

John B nodded, running out of the car as JJ rolled down his window to yell after him. "Three tomorrow at the dump." JJ yelled after John B as he ran into the forest. Once John B was out of sight, JJ rolled up his window as Pope slammed on the gas, making the blond boy laugh as Quinn grabbed the 'oh shit' handle.

"Pope, you clocked that car, man. Like, that was so bad!" JJ cheered, laughing slightly as he hit the back of the passenger seat. Pope chuckled, nodding his head as he practically bounced in his seat. "I'm just glad I'm not driving now."

Quinn looked at Pope with wide eyes, shaking her head. "Holy shit. Okay, you're done. Pull over." Quinn yelled and Pope slammed on the breaks, making JJ laugh.

"JJ, it's not funny. He shouldn't be driving." Kie said as Quinn got out of the car, slamming the back drivers side door on her way out, making JJ hiss. "Mama's mad."

Quinn walked to the drivers door, throwing it open. Pope looked at Quinn in shock, pouting slightly. "What are yo-" "Get out." Quinn interrupted. Pope let out a small groan, getting out of the car. Quinn smiled as Pope walked passed her, messing with her hair as she got in the seat. She waited for Pope to get into the backseat before starting to drive again, JJ popping his head in between the two front seats. "Where are we goin'?"

Quinn out a small exhale, starting to drive. "The last place they're gonna look."

...

When Quinn pulled up to Sarah's house, JJ and Pope peaked their heads in between the front seats, looking at Quinn with wide eyes. "You sure this is a good idea?" JJ asked.

Quinn sighed as she shrugged, keeping her eyes on the house. "She's the only one who can clear John B." She mumbled before getting out of the car and walking towards the cement wall guarding the back of the house. She jumped over it as Pope got out of the car, chasing after her to do the same.

"Last place they'll look because of how stupid it is." JJ yelled out of the car to Quinn and Pope. Quinn whipped her head to JJ once she got over the fence. She shushed him loudly and Pope turned to him, doing the same almost as if he was trying to do the same thing as her.

Once Pope was on the ground on the other side of the wall as Quinn, they walked towards the house as Quinn gave herself a nod. "Okay, I've got a plan." Pope nodded, running to catch up with her. "Yeah, I have plans. We can do plan. Let's do the plan thing. Let's get it. Let's plan it out."

Quinn turned to him as if he were crazy. "Can you handle a plan right now? You're like... really high." Pope scoffed, nodding his head. "Course I can handle a plan right now. I'm... I'm Plan Guy. I'm... I'm Mister Plan-o-Matic. Hey, I'm... I'm always..." Pope stopped talking before starting to bob his head as if listening to music.

"Thinkin' of a master plan, aye! 'Cause there ain't nothin-" Pope sang loudly. Quinn's eyes went wide, turning to him and covering his mouth with her hand. "Sh! Sh, sh!" Pope grabbed Quinn's hand, ripping it off his mouth as he glared at her. "Quinn, let me sing..."

Quinn covered his mouth again, giving him a slightly angry smile. "Look, this is a quiet game. Remember that game? You always make me play it. Now it's your turn." Quinn said, a small smile on her face as she nodded before walking towards the house.

Pope stayed frozen in his spot, watching Quinn walk away until he straightened up his back and said four words that made Quinn freeze.

"I love you, Quinn."

Quinn's feet stopped almost instantly. She felt her heart pick up as she slowly turned around to face Pope, her eyes wide and her face tinted pink but you couldn't tell during the dark night. "What?"

"I love you. I'm in love with you." Pope said, taking a step towards her. Quinn was just about to believe him until the smell of weed hit her, making her shake her head. "You're wasted. No. No. Forget that. You're high." Quinn said and Pope immediately shook his head, walking towards her.

He grabbed both of her hands in his as he shook his head. "No, I know I'm high, and that's why I'm saying this now. I really feel like this. I love you. I've been meaning to tell you, I was actually going to tell you earlier when I was about to go to my interview but freaked out." Pope rambled, making Quinn chuckle, moving to stand in front of him.

"Pope-" "I'm trying to tell you how I feel." Pope cut Quinn off, making the girl sigh.

"Pope..." Quinn mumbled but the boy was ignoring her, continuing to ramble about how he feels about her. Quinn rolled her eyes, removing her hands from his. She quickly cupped his face and pulled him into a kiss.

When she felt Pope's breathing slow slightly, she pulled away. Their faces were still close as Quinn kept her eyes closed with a small smile as Pope looked down at her, admiring her until she finally opened her eyes, her once small smile now breaking into a big grin. "If you would've let me talk, you would know I was tryin' to tell you, I love you too."

Pope smiled wide at her, nodding his head crazily. "Good. Good. That's good." Pope went to pull her into another kiss, until Quinn pulled away slightly, looking up at Pope with furrowed brows. "But what about the rule?"

"That rule doesn't make sense, and nobody follows it." Pope said almost instantly, shaking his head. Quinn chuckled at his words, looking around the backyard of the Cameron house.

"You know this is a really bad place to do this?" Quinn said, a small smile on her face as she hid a laugh but Pope kept a serious face, his mind to caught on the fact that he was kissing Quinn to think about anything else. He shook his head, pulling her in again. "Yeah but it's fine." He mumbled just before their lips met again.

Quinn smiled into the kiss, slowly pulling away and letting go of his hands. "Now, for the time being... this... is mine." She mumbled happily, plucking the hat off his head and putting it on hers. The hat too big for her making it fall forward in her face, making the pair laugh before Quinn jogged towards the side of the Cameron house.

Being next door neighbors to the Cameron's meant countless sleepovers at each other's houses, sometimes without the parents permission. Which meant they needed to find their own ways to get in besides the front or back door.

When her and Sarah were ten years old, each of them carved out little squares on the side of their houses so they could have handles to climb up with so of course, Quinn climbed up the side of the house. When she got to level Sarah's window was at, she slowly crept towards it, softly knocking on the window to get Sarah's attention from her bed.

When Sarah saw Quinn, her eyes went wide, running to the window. "Quinn!" Sarah whisper yelled. Quinn smiled, going to open the window to find it locked. She slowly looked up and locked eyes with Sarah as she shook her head, making Quinn sigh.

She slowly reached into her back pocket, unfolding John B's wanted poster and pressing it to the glass. Sarah's eyes went wide as she quickly shook her head. "I wasn't in on it." Quinn folded the paper, putting it back in her pocket as she nodded. "I know."

Sarah frowned at Quinn, pressing her hand against the glass. Quinn looked down at Sarah's hand before looking back up at Sarah. The Cameron girls brows were raised in a 'you know you want to' type of way, making Quinn roll her eyes with a small smile, pressing her hand against Sarah's through the glass.

"Sarah! Sarah!" Ward yelled as he walked down the hall towards Sarah's room. Quinn and Sarah's eyes went wide, turning to each other. "Go!" Sarah whispered, pressing her hand further into the glass. Quinn gave her one last smile before carefully but quickly getting off the roof and running towards the tree Pope was hiding behind.

"Go! Go! Go! Run!" Quinn whisper yelled, grabbing Pope hand and running off the property to get back to the van.

"Best day ever!" Pope yelled, one arm thrown into the air as the other held onto Quinn's so he could keep up with her pace.
