Duncan didn't look up from his work as the group talked with Kim, "Isn't he...?"

"A Mastermind? That's..." Kim glanced over at him, "Behind him," she concluded, but added quietly, "Hopefully." "Behind him? That's not something you can just say is 'behind you'. That's... that's murder!" Bodil interrupted.

Kim glared at him, "And murder, if you haven't noticed, is the social norm." Kim motioned to another dead person lying face down in the mud outside the window, "What's important is that neither of us follow that. We don't frolic to and fro yelling about despair and how It is 'unavoidable' and being oh so trigger happy."

Bodil shut up after that.

"What's your plan?" Sqaishey asked Kim. "Plan? What plan?" "The... Plan to fix all this, of course!" Kim burst out laughing, "Oh you're those kind of people! Yeah, there is no fixing this. This is past fixing." "Well not with that perspective you're not!" Sqaishey replied. "Ok, miss 'better' perspective, what do you plan on doing? Because I don't even know how you would even go about dreaming up something so impossible. I've always been rather optimistic, but even I know when to stop."
