There were many ultimatums in my life: decisions about what I had to give up and what I had to gain. I never once thought that I would get involved in everything that has been happening till today.

We were happy and we wanted revenge so badly that we missed the whole perspective of it all. We were everything we wanted to be; a happy couple who did not let his business deals inflict torture in our relationship because he had his dad to take care of him during the battles they had to face with cheaters, loyal and in between.

Now, standing in front of the double white doors like it was the calling of my entire life, was the ultimate destruction for me. I didn't know how to feel anymore but those eyes haunted my memories and tainted the good ones in my heart with many what-ifs.

"It's no use waiting for him here," the nurse soothed my shoulder with a pat and told me to come back to my room.

"No, I won't step away," I seethed, daring her to say any word but successfully, she managed to give me a little bit of freedom.

"I will stand here until Levy comes out," I told the other nurse on my other side to make sure I didn't do something crazy. I huffed and crossed my arms childishly as if staring at the doors would cause some miracles.

Everyone in the hospital heard about what happened to us and tried to comfort me before, they were lovely people but I wasn't up for it anymore so I stood back up again for Levy.

My legs shivered at the cold conditioner aimed at my bare skin under the thin material of the gown and I was sure I reeked since I didn't have the time to take care of myself anymore.

I didn't sleep at all yesterday so it was an ordinary thing to feel the dizziness whizzing in my head, I sat down on the bench beside the door, rocking back and forth with my pale legs.

"Lia," I heard a similar sound before, I looked up to Levy's mother running to me with a tear-stained face, she matched my face right now. "Lia, are you okay honey? the nurses told me before two hours about the accident, I am so sorry for leaving you behind," Mrs. Christina sobbed and crouched down to hug me.

I was far off the stable wagon when my head began to give up on me but I was tougher than that, I willed myself to open my eyes as my hand squeezed Levy's mom when she sat next to me.

"I can't sleep, please, you have to keep me awake," I begged in whispers and she gasped at my cold hand that made her cry more. "I can't sleep," I repeated as I rocked back and forth once again.

"But you need to, at least for an hour," she protested, "I will tell you when Levy comes out," she added when she tried to lift me up but my body almost met the ground, I had no energy and I felt like I was dead.

I felt like someone snatched off my life support.

"Here you go, honey," she soothed me when she put me on the wheelchair gently and the nurse rolled me away while she waited for Levy.

My eyes met my snowy white frail wrist and I sobbed as my heart broke for the boy that promised me the earth.

I looked up with wet eyes and prayed endlessly in my heart that I would get to see his smile again. I wasn't sure what had I done wrong to people for that to happen to me but I was sure that Levy was a strong soul and he could make it through even without me.

"Get some sleep," the moment she changed my position for bed, I was out of it with my mind dazed off somewhere off.

"He's here, he's alive," my dad cheered and I stared at him.

"Dad, you're alive again," I exclaimed but when I reached out to hug him, he was not there anymore.

The image changed to a beautiful garden filled with lilacs and roses, I was awestruck when my eyes found my special man standing with a graceful smile on his face.

"Honey, look who's here," my ears picked up on Mrs. Christina's soft voice as my eyes flickered for a bit before opening them again.

My eyes took in the calloused hand in mine and I looked up for another divine attraction that flowed from his eyes to mine.

"You're alive," I whispered but it was loud enough for him. He was looking better than before with a new white shirt and jeans, his pale cheeks returned to life and his damp eyes were replaced with lively ones.

But I was the opposite, it was my turn to look like death again. I grimaced at my smell and replaced it again with a hopeful smile at the boy in front of me.

"Yes, baby, I'm here," he bent down and kissed my nose. We had an unspeakable connection when our eyes met again.

"But damn, you were out for three days now," he commented and I gasped at the fact that I missed his entire surgery.

Tears pricked my eyes at the fact that I wasn't there for him and the heavy failure I felt inside but he kissed them away when they went down my cheeks, hugging me in the process.

"I missed you, so much," his breath hitched when a sob left his body and I tightened the hug, feeling his body against mine as much as I could.

"I missed you too," I replied, crying out from the suppressed pain inside of me.

"There is no time left," Mrs. Christina interjected in on our moment.

"For what?" I asked breathlessly.

"For our ride back to Dallas." she replied.
