Luz was reading a book about the local demons when she heard someone talking.

"Amity?"

Luz got up and looked at the children's corner, seeing Amity reading to kids. This surprised Luz, because Amity looked generally happy, something Luz has never seen in the short week or two she's known her. The children listened intently as Amity read from the Otabin book.

'Wow, she looks so... happy.' Luz thought.

Amity finished reading and the kids ran to go find their parents. Amity stood up and went to put the book back, and was a bit surprised to see Luz.

"Oh, Luz, w-w-what are you doing here?" Amity asked.

"Oh, Eda just wanted me to return her books for her, and then I ran into Cat, and now I'm here." Luz said, "I had no idea you had this side to you. You seem so... open."

Amity looked away and hugged the book to her chest.

"It's... it's for extra credit." Amity said.

"Maybe it is, maybe it's not, all I know if that you're happy here, and so far, I haven't seen you happy before." Luz said.

Amity felt like she was being backed into a corner, she knows Luz didn't mean to, but she felt like the walls were closing in. Luz noticed something was wrong.

"Amity, are you okay?" Luz asked.

"C-c-can you please leave?" Amity asked, closing her eyes.

Luz knew it would be best to leave before she makes Amity upset or something. She wasn't going to forget about this.

"Okay, I'll leave." Luz said, walking away.

She got a little out of children corner when she heard a voice.

"Hey."

Luz looked up and saw an older girl that has pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, a mole under her left eye, and long, emerald, green hair that is tied in a braided ponytail. Her face shape is also rounded off to a point. She wore a long-sleeved dark gray shirt under a burgundy tunic with a green, diamond-shaped stone in the center of her chest and a belt around the waist, gray shorts with burgundy cuffs, and black shoes.

"Uh, can I help you?" Luz asked, a bit confused.

The girl didn't seem to be looking at Luz, more like... she was looking just over Luz, like she was taller than she is.

"Do you know where Amity Blight is?" The girl asked, "I'm Emira Blight, her older sister."

"Uh, huh." Luz said, before pointing to the children's corner, "She's right through there."

Emira just kept staring at her, as if she didn't see Luz's pointing hand. Suddenly, another person, a boy, that looked very similar to Emira ran up.

"Emira, you know going ahead is a bad move." The boy said, "You know it's dangerous with you... problem."

He whispered that last part, but Luz was able to hear it because she connected to a fly that flew past them as it happened.

"I'm fine Edric." Emira said, "Just... want to get this done, we have to or else-"

"I know... but please, don't do something dangerous like that again." Edric said, before turning to Luz, "Sorry about that, I'm Edric and this is my older twin sister, Emira. We're Amity's siblings and we're here because... mom said she forgot her lunch."

Luz looked down and saw a pink bunny bag fill, to the point it would rip, with food. Edric looked like his arm was about to fall off with how his hand was shaking. This confused Luz, because last night, Amity looked like she hadn't eaten in weeks, and now this "Mother" is sending her this much food? Yeah, no, she's not dumb, she knows something is going on.

"Well, she's right through that door." Luz said, pointing to the children's corner.

Edric nodded.

"Thanks." Edric said, "Come on, Emira."

Edric and Emira turned and walked towards the children's corner, but Emira walked into a bookcase like she couldn't see it.

Luz raised an eyebrow, she didn't want to eavesdrop, but she didn't really have much of a choice. She turned into a fly and flew to the children's corner, seeing Amity tear into the food like a wild animal. Edric looked sad, seeing Amity swallow food whole, not even chewing some.

"I hate this, ever since dad died-"

"He didn't die!" Emira said, "He was murdered, and ever since then, it's been nothing but hell!"

"Emira, keep your voice down, someone might here you." Edric said.

"Good, I want the world to know what's going on!" Emira said.

"We can't, you know we can't tell anyone." Edric said.

"He's right, the Oath won't allow it." Amity said.

'Oath?' Luz thought, 'What's going on with them?'

"Listen, we'll be back later to pick you up, try not to do anything dangerous during the Wailing Star." Emira said.

"You guys don't believe that whole, Wailing Star effects the library, do you?" Amity asked.

"Hey, seeing is believing." Emira said, "And I haven't seen anything to say different."

Amity gave Emira a look, not that she could tell though. Luz knew if she wanted to know more, then she would have to come back when Amity is working tonight. Amity stood up and grabbed a stack of books to put them away.

'Okay, I'm going to-'

Luz was knocked out of her thoughts when Amity put the stack of books on her.

'Okay... being a fly on bookcase may not have been the best idea.' Luz thought, turning into a cockroach and slipping through the small space between the books and shelf, 'Thankfully, Cockroaches can flatten themselves to a fifth of their size.'

She quickly scurried away from the children's corner before Amity or the twins even knew she was there.
