Junko: Imagine a world where all your greatest fears have literally come to life. Now imagine those fears took the forms of devils and really want you dead. 

Monika: Well, all but one devil. Pochita, otherwise known as the Chainsaw Devil is the original Chainsaw Man. Born out of humanity's fear of chainsaws, Pochita is unlike any other devil— choosing to use his power to become a "hero" within Hell and appear before any who cry out for help, slaughtering both the victim and the perpetrator. These chaotic acts led him to be marked and killed by innumerable devils throughout Hell, resulting in devils fearing, hating, loving, and worshipping him as the Hero of Hell.

Junko: Eventually, this would bring him into a climactic, badass battle we'll never see! Where he faces off against both the 4 Horsemen & Weapon Devils at the same time!

Monika: This encounter nearly killed him, but luckily he escaped, albeit in the form of a cute little puppy who was found and rescued by a recently orphaned Denji.

Junko: Yeah, and fair note, Denji's life sucks! This kid's dad dies and right after he already has to pay his old man's debt! He wasn't even a teenager yet when he started!

Monika: Still, he managed to pull through... that is until he was betrayed by the Yakuza, dismembering him and Pochita and throwing their remains in a dumpster as a sacrifice to the Zombie Devil. Afterward, Pochita will form a new contract with Denji. In exchange for Pochita becoming his heart, Denji was to continue chasing the dreams he told to Pochita during their time together. Fusing with Pochita and gaining his devil powers, Denji is reborn as the titular Chainsaw Man, a Devil-human hybrid, and easily slays his betrayers. To honor Pochita's last wish, Denji becomes a Public Safety Devil Hunter after meeting Makima, a high-ranking Public Safety member who offers Denji the position due to her interest in his abilities.

Junko: Yeah, Makima made him a deal. Either Makima killed him or he became her pet! And luckily Denji was just the right pervert for the job!

Monika: Due to fusing with Pochita, Denji gained superhuman abilities even when not transformed. In his human form, Denji is durable enough to survive being hit by Power with a hammer and getting squeezed by the Bat Devil, despite both individuals possessing immense strength. He's also very strong, capable of decapitating a Fiend with just one swing of his Axe.

Junko: And due to his rough childhood, Denji has developed a high tolerance for pain and stress, being able to still function as a Devil Hunter for the Yakuza despite having multiple of his organs missing at the time. His mental fortitude has allowed him to fight for three days straight while constantly being injured and remaining conscious even after having multiple parts of his body cut. 

Monika: After entering his Hybrid form, Denji's physical strength is increased exponentially. He can break walls and kill most Devils with just one punch. On one occasion, he was able to catch a thrown car out of the air without staggering and then throw it back with an equal amount of force, and on another occasion, he was capable of lifting a car and then throwing it with enough force to make it explode.

Junko: While in his Hybrid form, Denji's physical durability is increased to inhuman levels. He can fall from great attitudes and punch Devils through walls, without receiving any injuries. He also has survived a point-blank blast from the Bat Devil that destroyed a building behind him, multiple explosions from the Bomb Hybrid, being on fire for extended periods of time and being near the Typhoon Devil's tornado, which has been shown to be strong enough to lift cars. His head and chainsaws are far more durable than the rest of his body, due to being made of metal, and being capable of deflecting bullets.

Monika: Yeah, Denji is defiantly an exceptional combatant.

Monika: Even without his transformation, Denji is a capable unarmed and armed fighter. Against the Leech Devil, which was many times his size and weight, he was able to easily block her blows, whilst delivering punches and headbutts with enough force to damage her. His skills improved further after training with Kishibe, in which he learnt to rely more on strategy instead of blind-strength.

Junko: That training defiantly paid off. Despite never receiving a proper education, Denji's very perceptive when it comes to ascertaining his enemies' weaknesses and how to exploit them. His "master" Kishibe really did teach him various strategies, as shown when he deceived the Katana Man by making him think that Denji can only manifest chainsaws in his arms. Denji also managed to incapacitate Reze by using her weakness against water and defeat Santa Claus by abusing her weakness towards fire and light. 

Monika: In the time between Parts 1 and 2 Denji has continued developing his skills, such as learning to use the chains to reattach his head and limbs after being dismembered and learning to resist mental attacks by damaging his own brain with his chainsaws as seen in the fight against the Falling Devil.

Junko: All of this thanks to one single transformation!

Monika: Right, the source of Denji's immense strength, his Hybrid transformation. By pulling on the cord emerging from his chest, Denji can transform into a bloodthirsty Chainsaw Devil.

Junko: In this form he can heal just about any injury so long as he consumes enough blood. Hell, even if he dies, someone can bring him back to life by pulling the cord on his chest! And the most badass part is, he can form chainsaws anywhere on his body!

Monika: True to his namesake, Denji is able to manifest chainsaws out of his head, arms, and later even his legs and feet which he can use to stick onto walls. Aside from the one of his head, these chainsaws can also be retracted at will. By disconnecting the chains off his chainsaws or turning parts of his body tissue into chainsaw chains, Denji can use them like horse reins or wrap around his opponent to pull them closer to himself, which he can follow up with a slicing kick.

Junko: And the cool part is, he can even manipulate blood! Well sorta, after Power revived Denji once by giving him her blood, he was able to manifest a chainsaw made from said blood, boasting a sharp pair of horns similar to that of Power's on the base of the chainsaw. By using her blood manipulation ability that was imbued into the chainsaw, Denji is able to disturb the regeneration of even someone like Makima, which is what allowed him to defeat her.

Monika: Still, the last thing you want to do is have him break his contract with Pochita. If his contract is ever broken, Pochita can and will possess his body, taking his original form as the true Chainsaw Devil.

Junko: Haha! Now that's what I call a badass transformation! Especially with Pochita being far stronger than Denji himself! And far faster too.

Monika: As noted by Beam, the Chainsaw Devil was renowned for his amazing speed. When fighting Makima and the hybrids, he effortlessly assaulted them before they could even react. He moves almost instantly, making it look like he's teleporting to his opponents. When the Hell Devil was summoned to defeat Chainsaw Man, it couldn't even attack before being effortlessly dismembered.

Junko: The Chainsaw Devil's body is incredibly tough, being able to survive sonic lashes, explosions, piercing attacks, massive concussive blasts capable of sending him into space and atmospheric entry burns with little to no major repercussions! He was also able to survive the onslaught of Makima's Thousand Year Spear attack, even when weakened by public adoration, though he was in critical condition thereafter.

Monika: As stated by Pochita himself, when he was Chainsaw Man, he was so strong that he couldn't do basic social interactions like receiving or giving a hug. This is even more highlighted on his visit to the Burger Shop, where even small movements of his arms were enough to kill several locals, probably accidentally. To avoid unintentionally injuring Kobeni Higashiyama with his force, he had to carry her using his intestine scarf. Later, while fighting the hybrids, his attack on Quanxi and Miri Sugo was so powerful that it destroyed several buildings and effortlessly decapitated both of them.

Junko: Even his healing factor's improved! As a full Devil, Pochita's regenerative abilities are enhanced to the point that he completely regenerated his body from just his heart after throwing it from space without needing blood, even when suffering intense atmospheric entry burns!

Monika: And yet the most frightening of his abilities has to be his Devil Erasure.

Monika: The Chainsaw Devil is infamously able to consume other Devils, causing the "name" they represent to vanish from public consciousness while also erasing their physical existence. Kishibe was unable to recall historical events or things such as the Holocaust, Nazis or nuclear weapons, meaning that the Chainsaw Devil at some point consumed their respective Devils. The specifics of this ability are unclear as Makima was able to recall numerous erased names, and the War Devil wanted to make the Chainsaw Devil "puke" the Nuclear Weapons Devil up. But the erasure process can be partial. After the War Devil was partially devoured, the concept of "war" has remained, but no more wars have broken out in the human world. 

Junko: This doesn't mean that Denji is all powerful though.

Monika: In his Hybrid Form, he does need blood to maintain his transformation and even heal wounds. Too much blood loss will make him unable to do either. This isn't helped by the fact that just his transformation will cause him to lose a lot of blood due to cutting himself with his chainsaws, to the point where he'll get incredibly faint and can even pass out after a long battle when reverted back to human form. Likewise, his trigger-based regeneration requires him to pull on the cord on his chest in order for it to work.

Junko: He's also a massive pervert. He can easily be manipulated to do favours by money or sexual favours from women he finds pretty even if they're actively trying to kill him or he himself knows that it's a honey trap. Furthermore, he'll actively attempt to save pretty women or animals when they're in danger.  He's also prone to swallow anything with nutritional value that enters his mouth... like Makima.

Monika: Still, when Denji sets his mind to something he knows how to et the job done. Even if it means becoming the Hero of Hell.

Denji: Everybody wants to trash-talk my plans... It's revenge this, protect my family that, and save a cat, too! Blah, blah, blah! I guess your fancy dreams make you guys hot shit, huh?! How about we have us a dream battle, then?! How about that?! If I murderize you, that means your dream's weaker than fondling a tit!
