Warning, this will contain yaoi, which is boyXboy. Don't like, don't read.

Both characters are a little OOC, so I apologize for that.

Also, if you couldn't tell before, I absolutely love this ship!

Near was only a young angel, one of the youngest of them all, and yet, the king had already chosen him to be his successor once he was gone.

Why he was chosen was way beyond him, he had not even had a single mission yet...

These thoughts swam freely through his mind at all times, and he had no way to stop them from doing so. It was one of the reasons that he could not focus on his lessons lately. Another being that he had been watching a mischievous demon who had been wreaking havoc on the people of the Earth for the past few days.

"Near, pay attention!" Halle, one of the boy's instructors, demanded, snapping him out of his thoughts immediately

"My apologies," he responded, focusing his eyes back on the woman, who wore the same kind of attire as the rest of the angels; a white floor-length gown, with many gold accessories to accentuate her features, as well as a gold headpiece and gold pieces on her beautiful, pure white wings.

Near knew he should be more focused, he was preparing for his first mission on Earth, after all. However, he could not pull his thoughts from the undeniably beautiful demon that he had been watching. He could never tell anyone he found such a creature beautiful, for relationships between demons and angels had been strictly forbidden for as long as anyone could remember.

The woman sighed, "I think the king has found you a mission. Please go and see him," she said, slightly worried for the young angel. Near nodded his head and bowed deeply to his instructor, thanking her for the lessons she had taught him.

The young angel then made his way to the castle, where the king resided. The guards waved him in, and made the king aware of his arrival. The boy made it into the throne room, and he bowed before the king

"Welcome, Near. Please, lift your head," he said, with a gentle tone in his voice

"Thank you, dear king," Near said as he stood up and straightened his posture

"Please, just call me L," the king said as he stood from his throne and walked closer to the boy, outstretching his arm and touching the boy on the forehead.

Images of Earth flooded into the boy's brain, and he saw the exact demon who had been keeping him from focusing during his lessons as of late. He saw the demon startling the people of Earth with his awful tricks.

"Your first mission is going to be to dispel this demon, and send him back to the underworld," the king spoke as Near watched the demon intently. That was what angels did when they went to earth, they sent any demons who escaped the underworld back to it.

"Yes, dea- L," Near corrected himself quickly, and L took his fingers away from the boy's forehead.

"Good. I will send you down to Earth now. Follow me," L began to walk further into the castle, towing Near in his wake.

They entered a room with a large glass ball in the middle. The room had almost nothing else in it aside from the glass ball.

"Please stand in front of the ball with both of your hands on it," L instructed, quickly entering the bright room and shutting the door behind himself. Near followed orders quickly, placing his hands firmly on the ball.

As L placed his hands onto the ball, a snow-like substance began to swirl inside the ball, and the beautiful demon appeared in the midst of it all.

"Try to be efficient and complete your task in a short amount of time," L instructed, Near nodded determinedly.

The next thing the young angel knew, he was on the sidewalk in the city where he had seen the demon causing chaos for the past few days.

He looked around, as a few humans passed through him. The humans could not see nor feel the angels and demons who visited their world so frequently. Near searched the street, but he could not see the demon who he had been sent to dispel.

"I knew they'd send one of you sooner or later," Near whipped around, and saw the beautiful blond demon staring at him with his striking blue eyes, "I don't think I've ever seen you before... You seem much more pure than the other angels I have met," the demon let out a low chuckle, showing off his fangs

Near did not know what to say, he had never met a demon before, he didn't know how to handle the situation he had been thrown into.

The demon stepped closer to the young angel, and put his face close to the albino's neck, "oh, how I would love to have the pleasure of marking such a pure little thing," he smirked as Near took a step back, allowing himself some space between himself and the demon.

Near could remember from one of his lessons that demons are very skilled in the art of seduction. He took a deep breath and looked the demon in the eyes

"Be gone, demon!" He shouted, as he used the spell he had learned to shoot pure light at the demon. However, before the light could hit the demon, he disappeared.

"I don't think so, lovely little angel," Near herd the demon chuckle from behind him

"Mello, let's go!" The voice of another demon rang out, as he flew down to stand beside the other

"I think I want to bring a toy back with me," the demon smirked, eyeing the little angel up and down

"On it!" Without warning, a third demon dropped down behind Near and held his arms behind him, keeping him from attempting to get away

"Good job, Beyond!" The red-headed demon laughed. Near felt fear burning in the pit of his stomach

"I'm going to enjoy ripping every sliver of purity from your beautiful little soul," the blond demon, who had been called Mello, held two fingers to the angel's chest. Near felt his eyelids fall closed, and he could not keep himself awake.

When Near awoke, he was laying on the floor of a large bedroom. He began to panic immediately and ran to the door, only to learn that he was locked in.

How had his very first mission on Earth turned into such a disaster, he wondered as he walked the perimeter of the room, looking for any way out.

The door startled the young angel as it was unlocked and slammed open, revealing the very demon who brought him here.

"Look who finally decided to wake up," the demon smirked and approached the fearful angel.

"Where did you bring me?" He asked, trying to sound calm and indifferent to the situation.

"Oh, lovely little angel, we are in the underworld," Mello answered, as he snapped a pair of handcuffs around Near's wrists.

"Now let's go, King Light wants to meet you," Mello tugged on the chain attached to the handcuffs, causing Near to stumble forward.

They walked through the castle, before finally entering the throne room. Sitting on the throne was the most fierce-looking demon Near had ever laid his eyes upon. There were also many guards, as well as many demons Near did not know, and the two who helped Mello get him here.

"Bow, angel!" The king's voice boomed out, silencing the room immediately. Though Near was afraid of what would happen if he was defiant, he refused to bow to such a creature. He glared darkly at the king, and stood straight.

"I expected as much," the king smirked, "what is your name, young angel?"

"Near," Near answered, attempting to make his voice sound strong and clear

"Ah, so you're the successor to that horrible king of yours," the king's eyes shifted to Mello, "what great judgment you have in toys, Mello."

Mello smirked, "why thank you, King Light," Mello bowed his head. The use of the word 'toy' made Near's stomach churn with fear. He looked anxiously at the smirking demon beside him, and the haughty king who also had a sadistic smirk plastered to his face.

"Don't look so scared, young successor. I doubt he will kill you, though I'm very certain that after what he will do to you, you will be wishing for death," the king laughed menacingly as he eyed the young angel.

Near worked his hardest to wipe the look of fear from his face. At the king's demand, the demons in the room began to close in on Near

"What an adorable little angel," one demon laughed

"One this pure is extremely rare," a second smirked

"Maybe I'll steal you, and you can be my slave," another said in a deep voice

"Alright boys, back off," for the first time ever, Near felt joy to hear the voice of his captor. Near felt a tug on his chains, and he scurried to the side of Mello. He cowered slightly at the many laughs that came from the demons behind him.

"Don't worry, lovely angel, I won't let them hurt you," Mello moved his face closer to Near's ear, "however, I can't make any promises that I won't hurt you."

Near could almost feel the smirk on the demon's face as he bit the angel's earlobe lightly. Near felt a shiver make its way down his spine, as Mello let out a dark laugh at the angel's reaction.

The demons began to file out of the room, and Mello lead Near outside of the throne room, into one of the many long hallways of the castle

Near decided to ask the question that had been plaguing his mind since he awoke in this horrid place, "what do you plan to do with me?"

The demon turned his head to look at Near, so he could look into his frightened eyes, "I plan to rip every piece of your purity to shreds. You're mine now, to do whatever I please with," the answer frightened Near much more than he thought possible, and he fought to swallow the cry of fear that wanted so badly to escape his throat.

Near had heard about angels going missing after having encounters with demons. He began to wonder if this is what happened to all of them; they became 'toys' for the sadistic pleasure of some sick demon.

Near looked at the mean-looking demon and took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. They continued to walk, and Near soon realized that they were going back to the room that he had first woken up in.

Near thought back to his lessons, but he could not recall any information on how to escape the underworld. He could, however, remember Halle telling him that angel's magic was not nearly as strong in the underworld, but that did not mean they wouldn't work at all.

Near came up with a plan quickly, and wrapped his small, pale hands around the chain that allowed his captor to lead him. He forced his power to his hands and easily broke the chain. Then, before Mello could grab him, the angel ran with all he had.

Near could hear Mello running after him, but he did not dare look back. The handcuffs around his wrists and his long gown made it very hard to run, but Near refused to stop.

As the small angel took another corner that lead him nowhere helpful, his lungs began to burn. The young angel was not used to running, for he rarely needed to run in the heavens. His steps began to become less rhythmic, and he could not seem to find any exit from the castle.

Near heard the demon chuckle darkly, "oh little angel... You can't run forever..." As the demon spoke, Near tripped over the front of his gown, sending him crashing to the ground.

Near tried to lift himself from the floor to continue running, but the demon had already caught up to him and grabbed onto his gown. Mello pulled Near to his feet and looked into his eyes, while a sadistic smirk etched itself into his features.

"What a naughty little angel you are... I'm going to need to punish you..." Before Near could try to escape again, Mello held two fingers to his chest. Near's eyelids fell closed, and he once again could not keep his consciousness.
