Uchinaga Aeri, also known as Giselle, stared at the bulletin board in front of her. Her peach colored lips shivering in excitement. Was that really her best friends name on top of that list? Gieselle couldn't quite believe it. She licked her lips and fished her phone out of her pocket.

"Giselle, are you coming?", a girl from her department called and the Japanese woman nodded. "Just a sec!" She quickly took a picture and send it into the group chat of her, Jaemin and Izumi. "This was important to me" Giselle giggled and ran after the girl who had called her.

On the bulletin board was a massive poster, white paper with bold black letters. On the back was a black glittery paper, making it stand out in all of the notes on the board. The poster said Final Lineup for this years Drama Class Musical: WICKED. And right under the title stood a name, that immediately had caught Giselle's attention.

Elphaba — Park-Miya Izumi.

Izumi hadn't seen the bulletin board yet. Neither had she checked the updates on her, Jaemin and Giselle's group chat. She was listening to music, riding her skateboard down the road to catch her train. She had overslept, after watching some musicals online last night.

Now she was on her way to school. Her first class was Music Theatre Combination Skills 1 and it was one of her most hated subjects. She needed 12.5 points to get enough credits to enter the second semester of Year 2 of this course.

Their teacher for MTCS was a strict man who lived for musical theatre and had brought many students onto various stages of the world. Some of his students even managed to get into Julliard.

Julliard.

The Julliard School in New York City was something, Izumi had only barely looked up to. It had always been a dream of her to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts of Musical Theatre; but taking it a notch higher and applying for Julliard? That was a dream hidden in the universe. Izumi knew she wasn't talented enough to apply for a school like that.

Also.. New York was way too far away for the halfie. How would she be able to live in New York and study Drama at the same time? She quickly shook her head and jumped off her skateboard, running up the hill that lead to the doors of her college.

She passed a few students, apologized for bumping into them before running into the entrance hall and taking a deep breath. "I'm still on time" she gasped running past the bulletin board—not glancing at it once.

She ran up the stairs and into her classroom. Their teacher wasn't there yet so Izumi quickly went to sit down on a free chair and take out her supplies. Only then her head perked up. "Wait" she whispered and slapped her hand on her forehead.

She leaned over to the girl sitting next to her. "Today's Monday, right?", she asked and the girl next to her chuckled. "Yes, it is" she answered with a roll of her eyes. "The bulletin board" Izumi gasped and slapped her forehead once more.

She wanted to stand up again and leave the classroom, to take a look on the casting list, when her teacher came into the classroom and immediately started speaking. Izumi frowned and sighed. She had to take a look at the list later.

After the rather boring lesson, Izumi quickly packed her stuff back into her backpack and went to leave her classroom, when her phone rang. She internally cursed at the device before glancing at the notification on her lock screen.

uri nana 🐇: I KNEW YOU'D MAKE IT IZU!!!

Confused Izumi unlocked the notification and stared at the picture Giselle had send. It was the casting list from the bulletin board. Izumi gasped when she saw what Giselle had highlighted. It was her name next to the role of Elphaba.

A scream erupted from Izumi's lips and her classmates stared at her in confusion. "I made it" she quickly told them—even though they didn't care. "Mr Kim!", Izumi yelled and ran towards their teacher, "Mr Kim look!", she gasped and turned the phone towards their teacher.

Mr Kim looked at the picture on Izumi's phone and chuckled. "I already know that, Miss Park-Miya" he said with a knowingly grin. "Miss Lee seemed extremely surprised by how well you did. You grew a lot since Year 1" he spoke and collected his books, "keep up the good work and maybe there'll be a chance for you to aim higher."

Mr Kim smiled at her and left the classroom. Izumi cocked an eyebrow. "Aim higher?", she asked herself before answering her friends' messages. A smile spread onto her lips when she glanced at the picture once again.

"Glinda, Lee Donghyuck" she read and bit her lip. Donghyuck didn't manage to get the role he wanted. She pressed her lips together. She had been confused about the way Donghyuck had simply wanted to give up on the chance to sing Elphaba and now he didn't manage to get the role he wanted to.

She felt a bit guilty. But deep inside she knew that Donghyuck's vocal range and color fit more into Glinda's role than Elphaba. It still didn't make this any better. She sighed quietly and pushed the phone into the pockets of her pants before walking to her next class.

Funnily enough, the next class was the singing lesson she shared with Donghyuck and Renjun.

Donghyuck's smile has disappeared as soon as he had seen the casting list. Seeing the double surname of his classmate next to Elphaba's role was enough to tell him, that he didn't get the role. He licked the inside of his cheeks and chuckled. Renjun next to him looked at him, worry written all over his face.

"I'm sorry, Hyuck" Renjun spoke but Donghyuck shook his head. "It was childish of me to believe  I'll be able to get a role like that" Donghyuck said and turned to his friend. "Izumi's born for the role." Donghyuck tried his best to cover the hurt on his face, but his best friend still managed to read him like a book.

"You did your best, Hyuck" Renjun said and threw his arm around Donghyuck's shoulder. "Miss Lee doesn't know what she missed with casting y'all like this." Donghyuck shook his head once more and gently shoved Renjun's arm off his shoulder. "Listen, Injun" Donghyuck said, "I'm glad Izumi got the role. She has potential playing Elphaba... I was selfish thinking I could make it."

With these words Donghyuck looked down and walked away from the bulletin board. Renjun sighed. "Hyuck" he called and ran after his friend. "You're talented! You got Glinda's role! Queen Kristen Chenoweth would be SO proud of you! Don't let your head hang low—"

"I know that."

Renjun gulped. He could sense the anger in Donghyuck's voice and his whole demeanor acted as if this topic didn't annoy him but deep inside Donghyuck was hurt. "Hyuck" Renjun said, his voice stern. "What?", the Gemini asked and continued to walk down the hallway.

"Why did you want to play Elphaba in the first place? You know her role isn't in your vocal resumée." Renjun crossed his arms in front of his chest and Donghyuck gulped and stopped walking. He turned to look at his friend and Renjun cocked an eyebrow. "So?", the Chinese asked and Donghyuck sighed.

"The honest version or the drama class version?" Donghyuck asked and Renjun rolled his eyes. "Ah, the honest version" he gulped. "I thought if I made it and got Elphaba's role... Jieon would take me back. I thought when I proved to her, that the drama class wasn't just a hobby and was something I was aiming for as my future job... she would see that breaking up with me was a mistake and would take me back."

Renjun opened his mouth. "You can't be serious, right? She literally told you, that she didn't love you anymore and you're still trying to win her back?" Donghyuck grinned weakly. "Yes?", he said quietly and Renjun rolled her eyes.

"That chapter's closed!", he angrily let out. "She doesn't love you anymore, Hyuck. Move on from her! You've managed to get Glinda's role! You have a whole career ahead of you from now on! Concentrate on yourself and your talent instead of Jieon."

Donghyuck frowned. Jieon had always been jealous of Renjun and here he was talking ill of her. "Renjun" Donghyuck said and crossed his arms in front of his chest, "you don't understand... I loved her. She was my everything—"

"She wasn't." Renjun said and clicked his tongue. "Singing, musical theatre and I were your everything." The older male licked his lips. "And don't tell me how I don't understand things. I've been in love before and I had to choose between my lover and my future once. Don't act like I am a stupid twelve year old."

Renjun turned around and walked into the other direction. He was hurt. He knew how Donghyuck acted when things didn't work out his way and he was used to the tone in his voice. But Renjun didn't get the role he wanted either and never made a huge deal out of it because he was Huang Renjun—the boy who was happy to get a role at last. He wanted Glinda's role. He had prepared his whole life to sing the role of his dreams and what did he get? Fiyero.

No one asked him how he was feeling about this. But when Donghyuck could act like a child and be pressed about not getting the role he wanted, no one said anything.

Donghyuck watched Renjun's small frame disappear in the crowd and sighed. "What's up with him today?", he asked himself before walking towards his MTCS class. Miss Lee was his teacher in this subject as well and she smiled brightly when Donghyuck entered the classroom and went to his seat.

"Ah, our superstar!", she smiled at him before starting the lesson. Superstar? He was only Glinda... how could he be a superstar? Donghyuck frowned and tried to concentrate on the lesson. Even though he knew that Renjun was cross with him.

After MTCS Donghyuck had vocal lessons with Renjun. He wondered if the smaller boy was still cross with him. But when he entered the classroom and saw Renjun sitting next to Park-Miya Izumi, happily chatting with her, he felt bad.

He sat on the chair behind them. "Hi guys" he greeted them and the two same-aged classmates turned around to him. Renjun opened his mouth but quickly turned around again, while Izumi beamed at Donghyuck. "Congratulations" she smiled, "can't wait working with you!" Izumi's smile was contagious, so Donghyuck smiled back.

"Oh, thanks" he muttered quickly and heard Renjun snicker. "Congratulations on making Elphaba. The role fits you a lot!" Donghyuck added and Renjun turned around and glared at Donghyuck before turning to Izumi.

"I told you, right?", he smiled at her and Donghyuck frowned. Renjun was doing this on purpose. He was acting all friendly with Izumi to prove something and it was making Donghyuck's blood boil.

"W-What songs did you prefer today?" Donghyuck asked Izumi who pursed her lips. "The Winner Takes It All from Mamma Mia" Izumi quickly answered. "Mr Lee wanted us to chose songs with difficult bridges and I love the bridge from The Winner Takes It All so I chose this one." She pursed her lips. "The high notes at the end are a bit tough for me. What about you guys?", she asked and Renjun smiled.

"I chose Fools by Troye Sivan" Renjun said and smiled. "I love this song!" Izumi beamed and went to grab Renjun's hands. Donghyuck blew up his cheeks and watched his best friend interact with their classmate. "I can't wait to hear it" she smiled and Donghyuck smiled.

"Try not to fall in love with Renjun's honey voice" he smiled and Izumi blinked twice and looked at Donghyuck. Then she glanced at her and Renjun's intertwined hands and quickly took her hands away from the Chinese. "Sorry" she bowed and Renjun chuckled. "It's okay. Donghyuck... what did you prepare?"

Renjun and Izumi both turned to Donghyuck who opened his mouth. Renjun's gaze was ice cold, while Izumi seemed to be a walking sunshine—dressed in all black.

"If I Can't Have You from Shawn Mendes" he said and Renjun chuckled. "Jieon's favorite song? Seriously?", he asked and Donghyuck frowned. "Stop it" he warned. Izumi quickly glanced from one boy to the other and gulped.

"It's not only Jieon's favorite song" Donghyuck gulped, "a lot of people like this song." Donghyuck looked at Izumi. "Right?" Izumi blinked and nodded. "Yeah... Shawn Mendes is popular after all..." She licked her lips and turned away from the two boys.

They were both in a bad mood, and Izumi didn't want to be dragged into their fight. She wasn't even that close to the two of them. (At least not yet.)
