The meeting

Ever since I knew this life was fake, I couldn't hate books enough as they may contain the life of people like me.

"Early in the morning and we already have a meeting?" Dana whined, stomping her feet like a child. Minhae chuckled at her antics while Hana just shrugged. Minhae sighed looking at Hana knowing something must be bothering her.

"Shut up." Minhae playfully said trying not to disturb Hana's train of thought.

"Ha-"

"Can I talk to Hana for a second?" Agent Yuchen suddenly asked, cutting Minhae's words. He looked as if he was concerned for Hana more than an agent would. Minhae looked at Dana for a second before they both nodded. Although, Minhae don't quite understand what was going on.

Even when Hana and Agent Yuchen walked far ahead of them, Minhae's eyes could not stop following them. All she could think of was, what was happening between those two.

"Isn't it sweet of him?" Dana asked.

"What?"

"I think he is worried about her. And I also think they are more than just an agent and a client." Dana said with a smile on her face, and it terrified her.

"Minhae. Why my agent is so annoying? How can he be the leader when he is so childish?" Hana complained after another small fight with Agent Yuchen.

It terrified her that another thing in the story changed. When the relationship of the main character changes, it surely would change how the stories will unfold.

After last night with Agent Yuri, Minhae thought that maybe she could accept Agent Yuri for being a little change in the story. Having him around was not that bad. At least, it could lessen the possibility of her getting in danger. But another change?

"Isn't it exciting? I have always wanted one of us to be in a relationship." Dana said, almost jumping in her place. But to Minhae, she felt as if her world were falling apart. She was so sure that now, nothing can be certain whether they all will be together or not at the end of the story. Her thoughts were running wild, and she didn't realize that she had stopped walking.

"Minhae? Why did you stop?" Dana asked, earning everyone's attention on her. Minhae sighed, looking at each one of them as their gaze looked foreign now. It felt as if she doesn't know who was in front of her now as she realized that these people were just puppets with strings attached. Well, including herself.

"Nothing." She continued walking like nothing had happened. But it's far from the truth. It was very surprising that her head didn't feel any headache from all the thoughts that ran through her head.

Minhae felt like she was losing her mind. Agent Yuri was one thing. The main character's relationship was another. Agent Yuchen and Hana's relationship were not supposed to be that peaceful. They should bicker here and there as that was what the author had written.

"Can someone stop them? My head hurts." Dana finally said while the others just sighed.

Minhae sighed, she would rather hear them bickering over as simple thing as picking a seat than see them being this peaceful and giggling with each other and acting as if they were having a not-so-secret relationship.

"Hey, that's not the way to the meeting room?" Minhae's train of thought was cut again when Dana stopped her from going in the wrong direction. Minhae pursed her lip, looking down in embarrassment. She tried to calm her nerve that was starting to make her panic. But it seems impossible.

"I'm sorry. Let's just go." Minhae said, walking to the meeting room and taking a seat without caring about their stares.

The last time Minhae felt this panic was when it was the first time they performed on stage. Suddenly, out of all time, her head pounded like crazy and all the lights in the room felt blurry. The necklace that was supposed to be the accessory on her neck suddenly felt like it was suffocating her.

"Are you-"

"Let's start our meeting for today." Minhae felt thankful that the director had cut Hana from asking questions. She wouldn't know how to answer her on why she was being like this. She was not even sure why she was being like this.

"Agent Yuchen. You can start."

"Let me introduce myself and my colleagues once again. We were not normal agents. We specialized in the mafia. That was why we were hired instead of the police." A gasp of surprise was heard from Hana and Dana. Somehow, Minhae felt a little relieved that at least the reason they were in this mess did not change.

"That was also why-" Minhae shut her eyes, trying to shut her ears too. She had enough. Even though things might change later on, she wouldn't want to hear it anymore. At least for today.

While everyone was focused on Agent Yuchen, Agent Yuri seems a little distracted as he looked at Minhae who had put her head on the table. Her head was too heavy for her to keep on listening to what Agent Yuchen had to say and just hoped that no one noticed her.

Agent Yuri however had been looking at her since the moment she looked troubled. In fact, he couldn't take his eyes off her. He felt that the girl was not herself with the way she acted along the way to the company.

"-and that is all." When Agent Yuchen finally ended his speech, everyone started to notice Minhae with her head down on the table.

"Minhae? Are you okay?" Minhae sighed and forced herself to nod her head.

"I'm okay." She answered without even looking at anyone. She did not want to take a break, or her head might as well burst from overthinking about it too much.

"Minhae. You can have rest if you want to. I-"

"No. Can't you see I am perfectly fine!" She said in an irritated voice, shocking everyone who knew how hard it was for Minhae to get mad. She never meant to let out her frustration to anyone, but her head was too heavy to hear anything they had to say.

"L-let's just go, shall we?" With a sigh, Minhae asked. She looked right at everyone with a forced smile. Minhae knew if they ask her what was going on with her, she couldn't possibly answer any of their questions. She knew that the best. So, all she could do right at this moment was that acting like she was fine when she obviously wasn't.

"Let's go." With an assuring smile, Hana pulled Minhae out of the room and hold her along the way to Minhae's studio. Minhae obviously in Hana's eyes looked far from okay, and Hana would not want to push her any further so all she could do was to be by her side. Dana too followed them but soon she was pulled away by June to go to her other schedule, and she could only look at Minhae's back, hoping the girl would be okay.

Without anyone noticing with all the commotion happening, Agent Yuri and Agent Yuchen had silently observed the girl who looked terrible. Although, for a different reason.

Agent Yuri felt pure concern thinking this whole mafia thing was making her sick while Agent Yuchen felt slightly suspicious about how Minhae suddenly behaved. He definitely knew if he let out his own thought, Hana might kill him. But as a leader, he has the right to feel suspicious about it. He was not new in this field. He could smell miles away if anyone were to hide something they should not hide and Minhae was acting just like that.

While Minhae felt terrible. Nothing could possibly describe how she was feeling at the moment. She also silently cursed the company for putting her studio too far into the building as she felt like years to get into the studio.
