~Rob's P.O.V.~

"Ugh, not again..."

I huff in frustration as the floating blue symbols turn jet black, switch rapidly, and then explode into a cloud of black particles. The glow of various potions paint the room in colours of all sorts, the liquids inside sloshing as I slam my fist down on the desk. As the black dust fades out of existence, I flop down on my stool, burying my face into my hands. What is this now... The fifteenth attempt? I think miserably, gazing at the spell book floating a few inches off of the enchantment table. I've been trying literally all day to master a new spell class; dimensional. If I can successfully weave the right cryptic symbols, all spells related to the dimensional class will automatically be jotted down in the spell book, along with all the other classes I've recorded.

I've learnt all the basic classes, which are nature, earth, fire, water, and air, and a few of the more advanced classes, like weather, summoning, and mind. My current study is on one of the hardest classes known to all blue gems, aka mages. The dimensional class. If I can successfully teach myself how to use this class of magic, it will come with many befits. Some of which are; being able to teleport, open portals to the Nether at will, create any enchanted weapon or object at a whim, (so basically summoning but more advanced), etc. Of course it has its limits, as do all forms and classes of magic. Only a handful of blue gems are said to posses this power, like the famous SetoSorcerer and ChimenySwift, and I'm ready to become the next one...

...if I can ever get it to work. Because those guys are sorcerers; born with magic. I'm technically a wizard, where I have to learn magic through studying and testing. We're all referred to as mages to save time, but those are two of the formal classes.

I've been at it for weeks now, an I'm seriously starting to have doubts wether or not it's possible. After all, Dimensional class magic is the absolute hardest to learn. Well... Besides End and Aether magic that is. These two classes are unheard of, and many believe them to be myths. All that's known about them is that no blue gem has ever learned those classes, and it would take the power of a white gem to master them. Many have tried, and all have failed to learn End and Aether class magic. So, I settle with Dimensional instead. But of course, using magic-especially stronger classes-drains a lot of energy from the user. If it didn't, it would be chaotic and way too overpowered.

Rising up from my stool, I take a deep breath and concentrate, squeezing my eyes shut tightly. One more try. I decide, cracking my knuckles and compelling my thoughts. Blue symbols once again appear out of thin air, changing rapidly throughout the letters of the ancient alphabet. Breathing out in an attempt to calm my nerves, I being mumbling things under my breath, and before long the first symbol has paused it's switching, coming to rest on the first letter of the spell. It's not really all that special, I've managed to get the first symbol multiple times. Even the second and third aren't that hard. It's anything after that when the spell will be carried out incorrectly, and fall apart. I almost have the second symbol isolated when suddenly, a strong breeze shifts through the room. My concentration instantly breaks, and the spell turns black and falls away, just like every other time I've failed. The spell book snaps shut, and my eyes scan the room, looking to where the breeze is coming from. As far as I can tell, there shouldn't be any sort of breeze in here. It's not windy out, and all the doors and windows are shut. So where is it coming from?

Before I can even move an inch, there's a flash of white light that fills the entire room, and some unseen force explodes, darting right into me. It hits me with such force that I'm knocked back against the wall, causing many different potions to teeter and fall to the ground, shattering and spraying liquids of varying colours everywhere. Under the assumption I'm being attacked, I ignore the dull throb where my head cracked against the wall and I leap to my feet, preparing to defend myself from any intruders. But there are none. And just as quickly as this weird occurrence began, it's gone.

"What on earth was that?" I utter, stepping lightly over the shattered glass.

I rub the back of my head, surveying the room for anything that seems to have changed. But besides the broken potions at my feet, nothing is different. Which doesn't do anything to help my curiosity. One thing I do notice, however, is my spell book that was recently shut, is now open once again, levitating calmly above the enchantment table. I creep forward, eyes moving to look at the page it's opened up to. And there at the top of the page, in fancy cursive writing, is the distinct word 'Dimensonal'.

My eyes widen. I didn't even completed the spell! So why is this class written down? Well, my first thought is that when I got knocked back I might have hit my head a little to hard off the wall. But sure enough, plain as day, any and every spell related to the dimensional class is neatly listed down on the flawless paper. Blinking, I watch as the book flips through the pages, as it normally does to showcase any new additions to any classes or new classes in general. It skims quickly through the pages of the dimensional class, before turning to a page even closer to the back of the book. I gasp in disbelief as I read the word printed neatly on the page. End class?! But I thought it was impossible for a normal Mage to learn End class! I gawk to myself. But it's not done yet.

The book slowly cycles through the spells of the End class, which in all honestly, I have trouble actually believing this to be true. Never in the history of ever has a blue gem been able to learn End class. And then, the book opens to the final few pages, right before the back of the book. I don't even need to look to know what's written there. There's only a few sections left, and there's only one class that could be so close to the end of the book. Aether class. All common sense leaves me as I'm frozen in shock, watching with my very own eyes as the spell book flips through the pages of the Aether class, showcasing the spells, before closing once again. And it's absolutely crazy the even think of the possibility of what I'm begging to suspect... But at this point, I don't really care.

With a shaky hand, I lift up my right arm, and gaze at the gem nestled on the back of my hand. My heart pounds in my head as my eyes land on the gem, and I shake my head frantically to make sure I'm seeing things right. Maybe I've gone insane, but all I can see is the sheen of a white gem on my hand, in replace of the blue one.

And then, the world goes black.

Question of the chapter:

Last chapter I mentioned all of the gem colours, but I didn't specify what Blue, Red, Green, Gold, and Purple gems represent. Though blue should be pretty obvious now... Can you guess what the gems represent?

Hint: Some clues can be found in the description
