This was orginally for Inktober so I don't consider this canon

The dull blue orb once filled with life was now extinguished by a stray bolt of an acolyte, as a strong urge to wrench overtook his senses as his eyes landed upon the carnage. He gagged but nothing came up out of his throat, the feeling only worsened by the throbbing in the back of his head due to a previous collision with a rock. He managed to get his gut under control, his sole focus on the dead ghost about a foot in front of him. He propped himself up slightly, weight centered on his elbows inching up a few centimeters. "It wasn't supposed to end this way" he whispered head swaying slightly as he tempted to hold it up. Everything just felt so heavy, so cold, he felt so alone. The cavern slashed across his stomach welled with life blood and mixed into the rocky soil as he dragged himself within range to grab the ghosts remains. The ground danced with vibrations of the approaching being of death caused an involuntary shutter to pass through him. He didn't want to die alone, Travler please. Hesitantly he shifted his gaze to brave the sight, peeking over his shoulder at the oncoming knight. As the blade was lifted high in the air, prepared to strike through his cracked and broken armor he heard a voice. An angry, defiant mess as the regulator in the others throat struggled to adjust the sound to normal. An exo rammed into the knight off balancing it before the strike could connect. The knight staggered back and swung at its attacker however Raven managed to stop the attack, his own body littered with gashes and dents left by the initial impact and fighting after. Sparks and fluid accompanied the robotic humanoid's wounds, the light in his mouth flickered suffering the same affliction Adriel's stomach had. The exo was flung backwards a few inches by a backhand that send some scraps of metal flying off his face. He ignored the warnings from his robotic body managing to swirve out of the way of yet another brute force attack. He once more locked arms with the giant, the metal that constructed his body groaning under the pressure of the beast. The knights intentions were clear, green eyes focused intently on its next meal, it's worm whispering and demanding that it be fed. It's focus was broken as something collided with it's head.

Adriel having twisted himself so he was on his back, one hand shaking desperately gripping onto his wound to keep his blood and insides were supposed to be, grinned underneath his helmet, the clip on his belt that held his journal now empty. "I always hated hive" he managed before giving into the exhaustion of his body and laying flat once more.

With the opportunity presenting itself Raven allowed the arc in him to build before releasing it in blow to the hive warriors head that disintegrated it on impact. He took a few moments to gather himself before heading over to his partner. He didn't say anything, deciding to use his mark as something to use to slow the bleeding. "Adriel keep your hands on your wounds" The exo stated, moving to lift the other up bridal style. This elicited a series of pained sounds from the others lips as they started to move through the maze of tunnels, avoiding hive and dealing with them when necesarry. Raven didn't know where his own ghost, Kieran went figuring they must be gotten separated when the ground gave way underneath the two guardians before hand. He refused to acknowledge the fact that after a while of walking the body in his arms went slack and didn't seem to notice when the cloth that bore the mark of his beliefs slipped off as consumed by the shadows of the night, but still the exo pressed on.
