(Jaune is seen sleeping in his Team's dorm until he wakes up and realizes it's morning.)

Jaune: Oh, it's morning. Well, time to prepare some breakfast.

(He goes down to prepare some breakfast. He fries some eggs and bacon before making some pancakes, toast and even orange juice. As he finishes preparing the breakfast, he dusts himself.)

Jaune: Man, I wish I had a chronometer or something. Whatever, now I just need to call my teammates to get some.

(Suddenly Nora pops up and smiles brightly by seeing pancakes.)

Nora: Oooooh! Pancakes! (excited) MY FAVORITES!

(Pyrrha and Ren come in.)

Ren: (groans) Nora, could you please not scream so loudly?

Pyrrha: Morning.

Jaune: Morning, girls.

Ren: You did all of this for breakfast?

Jaune: Well, it's the most important meal every day.

(Nora picks up the syrup and adds it on the pancakes.)

Ren: Nora, don't eat that much pancakes. It'll be bad for your health.

Jaune: Let's just eat the breakfast because none of us wants to be late for the first day, right?

Pyrrha: Now you mentioned...

(As they eat their breakfast, Jaune looks at the watch and it's 08:55.)

Jaune: Uh-oh, classes will start within five minutes. We're gonna be late!

(Jaune and his teammates dash as they catch up with Team RWBY who are also dashing to the class. In the courtyard, Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch watch the two teams hurry through the school. Glynda looks at her watch, and Ozpin simply sips his drink.)

(Timeskip)

(The sight of an axe-blunderbuss weapon pans down to the boards displaying various species of Grimm - King Taijitu, Death Stalker, Beowolf, Boarbatusk, Nevermore, and Ursa - behind an elderly teacher named Peter Port.)

Port: Monsters! Deeeemons... Prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely refer to them as prey! Ha-ha!

(Team JNPR is seen focusing on the class as Jaune takes notes about it.)

Port: Uhhhh... And you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy! Now, as I was saying: Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world! Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in. Huntsmen! Huntresses... (gives Yang a wink, which she groans uncomfortably at) Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves! From what, you ask? Why, the very world!

Student: (raises his fist) Ayyyy-yep! (stands like this for a moment as everyone looks at him strangely before sitting down, embarrassed)

Jaune: (sighs) I feel bad for him...

Port: Port: That is what you are training to become. But first: A story. A tale of a young, handsome man... Me! When I was a boy...

(Jaune returns his focus on Port's explanation while Weiss tries to do the same, but Ruby's antics prove to not be helping.)

Port: ...Despite smelling of cabbages, my grandfather was a wise man. 'Peter', he told me...

(Jaune notices Weiss' frustration with Ruby's antics and thinks about helping, but his thoughts are interrupted by Port.)

Port: Ah-heh-hem! (he waits until he has their attention again) In the end, the Beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity, and I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high, celebrated as a hero! (takes a bow) The moral of this story? A true Huntsman must be honorable!

Jaune: (writes on his notepad) Honorable...

Port: A true Huntsman must be dependable!

Jaune: (keeps writing) Dependable...

Port: A true Huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise!

Jaune: (almost finishes writing) Strategic, well-educated ans wise.

(Jaune finishes writing as Port speaks up.)

Port: So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?

Jaune: (raises his hand) I do, sir.

Weiss: (angrily raises her hand) So do I!

Port: Well, then, let's find out! (he turns to gesture at the glowing red eyes surrounded by shadow shaking the cage that traps it) Step forward, and face your opponent!

Jaune: Well... ladies first.

Weiss: Gee, thanks...

(Weiss Schnee, now back in her regular attire, readying her Myrtenaster at the growling creature in the cage barely seen at the end of the last episode. Her teammates cheer her on from their seats in the front row.)

Port: Allllright! (next to the cage, pulling out Blowhard) Let the match... begin!

(The professor swings down and breaks the lock, dropping the cage door and revealing the Boarbatusk inside, which immediately charges at Weiss. She uses Myrtenaster to deflect its attack and roll to the side, readying herself for its next move. The Grimm stands a distance away from its enemy, studying her.)

Port: Ha-ha! Wasn't expecting that, were you?

Ruby: Hang in there, Weiss!

(Weiss is now speeding towards the oncoming Boarbatusk, sticking her blade straight at its skull until they meet and Myrtenaster is trapped in the beast's tusks. Weiss is still hanging on to the hilt, and is tossed around as she struggles to get the rapier back.)

Port: Bold, new approach. I like it!

Ruby: Come on, Weiss, show it who's boss!

(Weiss turns to glare at Ruby, only for the Boarbatusk to turn its head and rip the sword from her grip. Myrtenaster lands far away from its master, who is knocked back by the creature's tusks.)

Port: Oh-ho! Now what will you do without your weapon?

(Weiss looks up just in time to see the Boarbatusk charge again, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid getting trampled and make it crash into a desk. Weiss rushes at her sword and slides to get it back in her hand.)

Ruby: Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-

Weiss: (turning to Ruby) Stop telling me what to do!

(Ruby looks hurt at Weiss' rebuttal. Meanwhile, the Boarbatusk leaps into the air and rolls into a ball, spinning rapidly in the air and landing on the ground, consistently gaining speed until it launches itself at Weiss. It comes closer and closer, but Weiss activates one of her blue-white circles and blocks the roll, leaping up into the now-black snowflake symbol and turning it blue again so she can drive the blade into the Boarbatusk's stomach. It squeals and falls silent while Weiss gasps in relief.)

Port: Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntress-in-training!

Jaune: Well, now it's my turn.

(As Jaune steps up, nobody notices Narutaki among the students as he opens a dimensional gap and Kamen Rider Kuuga comes out of it.)

Port: (confused) Strange, I don't remember having sent one of these...

Jaune: It's okay, professor. I got this.

(Jaune pulls out his Diendriver and places his card on it.)

KAMEN RIDE!

Jaune: Henshin!

DIEND!

(Jaune becomes Diend and prepares to fight Kuuga.)

Port: Allllright! Let the match... begin!

(Diend starts shooting Kuuga, who barely dodges the bullets. The Kamen Rider then changes to his Pegasus form and they start exchanging shots.)

Ruby: Wow, the first battle and he's already fighting some...

Weiss: (glares) Just. FOCUS!

(Diend then pulls out two cards and places them in his Diendriver.)

KAMEN RIDE: BUSTER!

(Buster is summoned and charges at Kuuga.)

Port: Ho-ho-ho! A gun summoning armored people? That's unexpected.

KAMEN RIDE: BUFFA!

(Buffa is summoned and charges at Kuuga as well. Kuuga then changes to his Titan Form as Diend analyzes his opponent.)

Diend: If Kuuga actually has 20.000 moves, then... (realizes) I got it!

(Diend prepares to finish Kuuga.)

FINAL ATTACK RIDE: D-D-D-DIEND!

(Diend shoots a blast at Kuuga, which finishes him off while reverting Buffa and Buster to Rider Cards again.)

Diend: And... done!

Port: Bravo! Bra-vo! A wise strategy to bring the invader down.

Narutaki: That was great indeed, Diend!

(Everyone turns to see Narutaki, except for Weiss as the bell rings.)

Port: I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and... stay vigilant! Class dismissed!

(Weiss then walks away hurriedly to the exit.)

Diend: (watching her leave) Sheesh, what's with her?

(Weiss is still storming off as she suddenly stops and then Jaune comes in.)

Jaune: Weiss, right?

Weiss: What do you want?

Jaune: What is your problem?

Weiss: (sees Ruby) SHE is my problem! She's supposed to be a leader, but all she's been so far is a nuisance!

Jaune: Okay... what did she do wrong?

Weiss: Nothing! She's doing NOTHING to earn her position! She's being childish ever since she came here!

Jaune: (confused) That's it?

Weiss: I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better. (starts leaving) Ozpin made a mistake!

(Jaune sighs in sadness.)

Jaune: Well, you can't win them all...

(Jaune turns to see Ruby crying)

Jaune: You heard it all, didn't you?

Ozpin: (comes in) Hmm... Now that didn't seem to go very well.

Jaune: (to Ruby) Look Ruby, I understand you. I know how it feels to be let down by everyone you know.

Ruby: (sobs) But what if she's right?

Ozpin: (laughing slightly) That remains to be seen.

Ruby/Jaune: What do you mean?

Ozpin: I mean, it's only been one day.. I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment, I would not consider your appointment to leadesr to be one of them. (leans in so he can look more directly at Ruby and Jaune) Do you?

Jaune: (looks at his drivers) I'm not so sure if I really deserve these... I mean, without them I would be... nothing.

Ozpin: Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly. If you're not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?

(Jaune and Ruby think for a moment before smiling at him.)

Ozpin: (turning back on Ruby and Jaune, still talking to them) You've been burdened with a daunting responsibility. I advise you take some time, to think about how you will uphold it

(Jaune nods and walks away. He then notices Narutaki looking at him.)

Jaune: Narutaki... who are you anyway?

(Suddenly she feels a tap in his shoulder and yelps as he turns to see Weiss.)

Jaune: Oh... it's you, Weiss.

Weiss: Yeah, and I'm sorry... I shouldn't be so...

Jaune: Mean?

Weiss: Yeah, yeah...

Jaune: I did things I'm not proud of either. I forgive you.

(Weiss smiles at Jaune, who smiles back at her. He then walks away and realizes that he's slowly making progress.)

Jaune: (in mind) I have finally found my place here.
