Thursday

Almost a week has past since Tori left and us rejects are getting on with our lives. Stella got over crying, Marceline and Claire are pretty mush the same and I have been watching quite a lot of anime on my free time, when I'm not doing homework, And I have a lot of homework. At least summer will start in a few days. Anyway, It's pretty easy for me, considering that I'm at the top of my class and Wellington School for Girls. It's a pretty fancy school, with uniforms and everything. I love the uniforms. They look like anime schoolgirl uniforms. Plus I get to wear my cosplay glasses. Marceline loves it too, because it makes her look more goth, and Claire hates it. We go to the same school. Claire and I have almost every class together, and since Marceline is sixteen, she's obviously not in any of our classes.

I should probably mention how old we are. Stella's the youngest, six, Claire and I are almost fourteen, and like I said, Marceline is the oldest, sixteen. Stella goes to preschool.

Anyway, Claire, Marceline and I are walking back home from school. I was telling Claire about Snow White with the Red Hair, an anime, when I noticed a strange car parked out front our building.

"Guys, look! It's an American car! See where the wheel is?" I said excitedly.

"Yeah, but why is it parked outside our building?" Marceline questioned lazily.

She has a point. No one ever parks in front of our building. Unless someone's adopting. I turned to Claire, who looked excited. There's always hope in her eyes. We started walking up the front stairs to our building and opened the big metal doors.

There was no one in the waiting room. Maybe Ms. Copelyn knew something.

We walked into the main area, dropping our bags at the door.

"Ms. Copelyn, there's a car outside-" I was cut off when I saw a man, women, and three kids. I don't know what, but something told me that these are my parents. My real parents. I could feel it when I looked at them. They were sitting at the kitchen table, talking to Ms. Copelyn. They looked over to me and stared in shock. Claire patted my shoulder, understanding what was happening, and made Marceline go upstairs with her.

"Hello." The women said.

Oh, god. This is my mum, isn't it? I felt very emotional. I felt like crying. There was a lump forming in my throat.

"This is your biological family. Why don't you introduce yourself?" Ms. Copelyn asked me.

This snapped me out of my daze.

"Oh, um hi, I'm Finn." I said timidly.

"Finn, there going to adopt you!" Ms. Copelyn announced excitedly.

I did perk up at this, at the same time trying to control myself.

"Finn, why don't you come over here and meet your family." Ms. Copelyn said. She's always been a bit pushy.

I slowly walked over to them, my eyes on my mum the whole time.

"They already filled out the adoption forms, but I would like to talk to your parents for a few minutes." Ms. Copelyn said.

"Why don't talk to your brothers?" My mum said.

She made them get up and follow me to the living room. We stood in there, awkwardly. Like I mentioned, they're three boys. My brothers. I always wanted a family like this. Anyway, the oldest of the three had his hair spiked, and was wearing a shirt that said 'Löaded Dïper', the youngest boy looked to be about five, maybe? And the last boy looked a lot like me. We looked the same age too.

"Hello. My name is Finn. I'm your sister, I guess?"

They stared at me before replying.

"I'm Rodrick. This is Manny."
"I'm Greg."

"Um, did you come here from America?"

"Yeah, when we-" Greg was cut off by Ms. Copelyn's voice.

"Finn! Go and pack your things, you'll be leaving soon!"

I excused myself from the conversation and ran upstairs to my room, only to see that Claire is sitting in there.

"So what happened?"

I explained to her what had happened. She was so excited for me! I was exited to! She helped me pack everything up, and when we were checking for anything left under the bed, she ran up to me and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back, realizing that I may never see her again.

"Text me everyday?"

"Of course! But I think that I'm going to America, so the time difference will be different."

"America! Wow! I always wanted to go there. Take loads of pictures!"

"Definitely."

We walked downstairs together and saw that my family was waiting for me in the waiting room. I grabbed my backpack that was still by the door and push the door open. They were standing there, talking. When they saw me, they smiled. I smiled too. I said my final goodbyes and went outside to the car with my family. I put my things in the back of the van except for my backpack and sat in the backseat with Greg. When the car started, I took one more look back at the orphanage as the car pulled away and drove off into the city.
