"I'm sorry, but are you new here?" Bridgette asked politely.

Felix froze and almost dropped his bag. She didn't remember him? What? Why?

Bridgette stared at him strangely. He wasn't moving, speaking, and seemed to be staring straight through her. He had blond hair that was combed to his head and brushed to the left. He wore a black vest and a grey dress shirt, which looked somewhat formal. His gray eyes were wide as he stared at her. Suddenly, it hit her.

"Ah!  I know!" Bridgette suddenly exclaimed, making the blond look at her with eyes somewhat full of hope.

"You were that guy whose face was plastered all over my room! I don't even know when or why I put those up there... I don't remember that at all..." Bridgette continued.

If Felix had cat ears, they would've gone from straight up and perky to flattened and disappointed in a matter of seconds.

Wait a minute. Why does he even care?

The bell that told the students to get to class had rung and students started crowding the space.

"I've gotta get going now. Sorry again, new kid!" Bridgette said finally as she fled for class.

Felix stood there in shock for a few moments until he regained his composure and walked cautiously to class. He entered before Bridgette had and silently made his way to his seat.

Alya and Nino came in chatting away as usual, but Alya seemed brighter than she had in the last few days. Alya day in her seat and Nino stood next to it as he continued talking to her.

There was only a minute until students were counted late and Bridgette still wasn't there. That was, until the door opened.

Felix watched as Bridgette placed her hands on her knees to support herself as she quickly inhaled and exhaled. It seemed as though she had been running. A squeal was heard from Alya as she jumped out of her seat and tackled Bridgette into a hug.

"You're okay!" Was the only thing Felix clearly heard as Alya bombarded Bridgette with questions, all of which she didn't have enough time to answer since Ms Bustier walked into the room.

"Sorry I'm late class-" She had started, but stopped when her eyes landed on Alya and Bridgette at the front of the room. Her eyes brightened and she smiled.

"Bridgette! Thank goodness you're alright. When did you wake up?" Ms Bustier asked the blunette.

Her words confused the class.

"I'm fine, thank you. I hope I didn't miss too much," Bridgette smiled at her homeroom teacher.

Bridgette's eyes moved to scan the class until they landed on a familiar blonde.

"Ah! Ms Bustier, did we get a new kid after my accident?" Bridgette asked.

This once again confused the whole class, including Alya. Felix unconsciously pouted.

"New kid? What do you mean Bridgette? Everyone's here since the first day. Well, except Felix. But he's still been here since the second day," Alya said.

"Huh?" Bridgette asked. "Who's Felix?"

That took the whole class by shock. Even Chloe. The girl who absolutely despised Bridgette.

Ms Bustier frowned. Although she knew that it was bound to happen, it was still very unfortunate to see it in action.

"You all didn't know?" Ms Bustier asked, causing everyone to turn to her.

"Bridgette had been in a car accident exactly last week from today. She's been in a coma all up until today."

Loud gasps and eyes widened all over the classroom. But that wasn't even the worse of it yet.

"She's okay now, though. But..." Ms Bustier trailed off.

"She has amnesia."

"That's why..." Felix thought as he froze in place once again.

"She forgot me because of amnesia. But she'll get her memories back... right?"

Then, the truth hit him.

It was his fault.

=========================

Felix wrote down notes as the day went on and classes passed by in a blur. He would do his best to pay attention to class, but his thoughts would keep drifting back to the pigtailed blunette. He couldn't help but feel guilty. He was the cause for her absence, her coma, and her amnesia. And it was all because he refused her confession so brutally.

The bell rang for lunch and everyone dispersed from the room. Felix walked down the hall and to the lunch courtyard. His chefs had packed him a healthy lunch and he was going to his usual spot under a shady tree when he accidentally bumped into someone.

When he looked down, he found himself staring into a sea of blue. Bridgette.

"S-Sorry!" Bridgette squeaked. "Again..."

He then realized that she had fallen onto the floor fr m the intervene and held his hand out for her to take. She looked at the hand and smiled before taking it. Felix felt his heart beat a few times, but it was so small that it was unnoticeable.

"Also..." Bridgette started as she dusted herself off.

Felix looked at her expectantly.

"I'm sorry for forgetting you. It's like you've been wiped out of my memory. Were we close?" She asked.

Felix's eyes widened but he covered his shock by clearing his throat.

"U-Um, no. We weren't too close, but we did know each other," Felix said.

"Why did I stutter?" He thought.

"Hmm, well, I hope we can change that! Do you want to sit with me and my friends? Maybe I could remember you if I get to know you better!" Bridgette smiled.

Felix was taken aback by the request, but slowly nodded.

"Great! I'll lead you there!" Bridgette happily exclaimed.

It was then that Felix realized that they were still holding hands as Bridgette tugged on it at pulled him towards Alya and Nino. It was so sudden that Felix almost tripped over his own feet.

"A-Ah, sorry. I got excited," Bridgette said sheepishly.

Alya and Nino were on their phones as usual. Alya updating her blog and Nino listening to music through his headphones. When they saw Bridgette and Felix thought their peripheral vision, they immediately looked up.

"Oh, hey dude!" Nino greeted.

Bridgette looked confused. "You two are friends?" She asked.

Nino smiled. "Well, I would like to think so."

Felix nodded a little. He never thought that he needed friends, but hearing Nino say that somehow warmed his heart.

"Are you eating here, Felix?" Alya asked.

"Bridgette invited me," Felix answered.

Alya nodded as Felix sat down next to Nino and Bridgette next to her.

As lunch went on, Alya and Nino kept holding the conversations while Bridgette and Felix just nodded and replied whenever they needed to. Felix's eyes drifted to Bridgette and he watched her as she laughed wholeheartedly at Nino's joke.

"So this is what she was like when she wasn't around me," Felix thought.

He honestly preferred her like that. She wasn't clingy or nosy. She was normal and acted naturally. She was social and open. Felix wished he had known her when she was like this, and not the way she presented herself to him and him alone.

The rest of the lunch went on and they started picking up their trash. Felix had learned more about the group while Bridgette learned something important about Felix. The group was very energetic. Mostly because of Alya and Nino. Those two were the noisy ones. Bridgette on the other hand was always calm. She was more like the leader of the group. Watching, agreeing, and supportive. She always spoke when needed to, stopped to listen, and laughed at funny topics. She was sure different around others than Felix.

Bridgette figured out why Felix had no friends. In all the classes she had with him before lunch, Felix was quiet. Sure, he was smart, but he only spoke when answering a question. He always sat in the back when it wasn't homeroom, since he sat in the front, and he always requested to work alone. Felix wasn't open and social. He always stayed shut in that shell he had built around him. Bridgette wanted to learn why and she wanted to break it.
