I got out of my car and threw my keys at the valet who looks like he needs a shave

We were having dinner at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, it's a nice little place but a little expensive, now if you're wondering how I could ever afford a table at a place like this With my salary, well this place kinda owed me a favor after I saved it from dr. Polar's gun robbery

I wore a Slim Fit 3 Pieces Suit, One Button Blazer Set, Jacket Vest & Pants and the same black shoes I wear when I'm out as Doctor Midnight

I went inside and walked straight to the Hostess

John: excuse me

She looks up at me

Hostess: oh hello may I help you

John: yeah (I placed my elbow on the desk) John hunters table for two

I turned around and I was stunned when I saw her wore a stunning V Neck Floral Spaghetti Strap Summer Casual Swing Dress and black heels with straps

John: whoa

I was too stunned for words as I walked slowly towards her, all I could do was glazed at her beauty with my mouth opened

John: wow, you look beautiful

Rachael: thanks

We went quite for a minute but then we were taken to our seats, he talked a bit and laughed, he felt like a moment that could last forever until

John: so how have you been

Rachael: well I just found out that

She looks left and right to make sures no one was listening

Rachael: (whispers) Sesame Street is a gay bar

John: (chuckles) what?

Rachael: I know right, I just did an interview with Elmo who happens to be a red head owner

John: (chuckles) well I am Doctor Midnight

I gave her one of Doctor midnight's scoundrel smirks

Rachael: (chuckles) uh you might wanna keep it down (whispers) you don't want anyone to know who Doctor midnight is

John: don't worry, the only person that knows who he is (I take her hand) is you

I give a wink at her as she smiles at me, but then the smiles disappeared when she took a sip from a glass of wine

Rachael: but I gotta ask, what motivated you to become a superhero, in other words what made Doctor midnight

And with that my worries came back and my past flashback in my mind, so I took one strong slip of bourbon and looked down, she stared at me

John: Stop staring at me to distract me!"

Rachael: I'm not staring at you to distract you, I still waiting for your answer, not quite dodging my answer

She touches my hand

And she was right, she needed to know, it was time to come clean

John: (sigh) ok, you deserve to know the truth, after all you know my secret identity and haven't told anyone so I should tell you why

I put down the glass and looked her in the eyes

Rachael: (gasp) wh-what happened to them

As I was explained to her about my past, inside the kitchen, a group of robbers that were disguised as chefs, tied up the real chefs and the third one came in with a pot filled with weapons

First robber: come on you guys, let's rob this place while Doctor midnight is off

As the robbers took off the disguise and harmed with loaded weapons headed towards the doors

As I finished my story, I saw the fearful looked and sadness in her eyes

Rachael: I'm sorry for what happened to your family, so that's why you became a hero

John: yeah, but when I tracked down the killer, I wanted to kill him but I didn't...

Rachael: because

John: because my Diana wouldn't wanted it, she would've wanted me moved on and to do whats right, truth be told I only became Doctor midnight to track down DiMaggio and end him but after that, you came and created Doctor midnight, thus made me the hero I am today

I took her hands in mines, we stared in each other's eyes and as I leaned in to kiss her

Robber 1: THIS IS A STICK UP

Robber 2: NOBODY MOVE

Robber 3: HANDS UP

We looked up and saw a group of robbers (sigh) and I was just about to kiss Rachael, he bend down underneath the table, i took her in my arms and face her at me

John: I gotta go take this

Rachael: go ahead, I'll be fine

I ran to the bathroom to change, Rachael took out her phone and called her cameraman

Rachael: hey Rodney, it's me Rachael come over to Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar something amazing is about to happen

Robber 1: come on, come on

The first robber aimed a gun by at the chasier  forcing him to give them all the money, I came out and kicked him down

Doctor midnight: sorry but the bars close

Robber 1: (grunts)

I was surrounded by four more men

Doctor midnight: (sigh) this is going to be a long night

I got a call from commissioner Archer from Chicago, I'm so famous that I'm what New Jersey has to offer, he needed my help

He was having trouble trying to take down this madman that's been causing chaos in Chicago

So I drove out of New Jersey and straight to Chicago the city of baseball and lights

Doctor midnight: (sigh)

The commission heard about me on last nights tv news from my ruined date with Rachael

I arrived at the Chicago Police Department, I decided to go Batman in the commissioner, I climbed through the window, I saw him

He looked like commissioner gordon but he was a bit muscular then stomach and his hair was a mixture of blonde and red and had a beard instead of a mustache

I heard him yelling at the other policemen

Archer: he is that hero dr. Midnight

Policemen 1: we don't know

Policemen 2: nobody hasn't seen him yet

Policemen 1: well nobody doesn't seen him or what he looks like

Archer: well what are you waiting for an email FIND HIM I NEED HIM NOW, WHILE WE STILL HAVE MEN THAT-THAT-THAT MENCE HASN'T KILLED

Both: yes sir

As the two policemen ran out, I got in, stealth mode

Archer: ugh god

Doctor midnight: you needed me

Archer: ah!

He turned to see me

Archer: oh good your finally here where were you

Doctor midnight: car trouble

I walked over to the chair that was in front of his desk

Doctor midnight: you needed me commissioner archer

Archer: yes I need you to help take care of a problem I'm having

Doctor midnight: whats this menace you were talking

Archer: nothing unusual but word on the street says that you can handle people like these but I'm not sure you wanna handle this

Doctor midnight: try me

He looks in different directions and pulls out a folder and slides it to me

I open it and I saw pictures of some kind of shadowy hunchback figure with a cloak and gloves, in every picture the mysterious menace hides in the shadows, not revealing himself

Archer: people call the madman of Chicago and well he's been causing mayhem on the streets

Doctor midnight: what has he done that's frightening the city

Archer: I'll show you

He takes me to an abandoned penitentiary, when we got in, he showed me an empty cell with a glass wall in front of us, at first I was confused

Archer: a few weeks ago, I had my best men cadet sanders go work on this case on some domestic violence at this old chemical factory but when he got back, he came back changed

Doctor midnight: changed

I got a closer look.... and saw nothing but as I got closer

Snarl (growl)

Doctor midnight: (gasp)

Some kind of dog snarled at me, so I back up to get a better look, but what I was shocked my eyes

It was a werewolf in a shredded police uniform, with the name tag sanders

Archer: yeah, he started to change into a werewolf and it wasn't soon until all my men started to change and now I only have ten policemen left, I was down on my luck until I found you, now you're Chicago's only hope

Doctor midnight: hmm

Archer: so please will you help us

Doctor midnight: alright, where is this madman menace at

Archer: no one really knows but all we know is that he goes to old chemical stores and sometimes robs banks so he can lure in attention to find more guinea pigs for his experiments

Doctor midnight: hmm, I'll see what I can do

We walked outside and I hop in my car

Doctor midnight: you might wanna put out an amber alert to keep people inside

Archer: ok

Doctor midnight: until this madmen is caught, this city is under a curfew hour

I drove off

Archer: (gasp) god help Chicago

And so I did my first patrol around Chicago, it feels weird protecting a different city, but I'm sure New Jersey will do fine without me for one day

As I patrol the city of Chicago, I heard the alarm set off

Doctor midnight: I'll only been here for a minute and already I'm on the verge of finding the madman

I park my car near this parking lot at JacksonCo Supply and as I got out, someone or something jumped out of the glass window and landed on top near a car

Crash

I covered myself as the shattered glass fell over me, I saw him jumping off the car and began running like a chimpanzee

Doctor midnight: hey, stop right there

I followed him but he was so fast, he went in a alleyway and as I trapped him, he hopped from wall to wall and jumped on top of a building, he got away.

Doctor midnight: (gasp) great

I heard someone walking behind me

Invisible man: put your hands up

He had a Philly South Jersey accent, I slowly turned around

Doctor midnight: I don't want any trouble, I'm just-

But as I turned I saw no one

Doctor midnight: huh?

I thought I heard someone and as I went to see who I was talking to, I felt someone punching me

Doctor midnight: (grunts) ah

I fell back and quickly got back up, I adjusted my jaw and went back to combat mode

Invisible man: I caught you at last mr. Hyde

Doctor midnight: I'm sorry but I think you got the wrong person

I was punching the air, hoping I would hit something when

Doctor midnight: (grunts)

I got another punch from the stomach

Doctor midnight: (moans)

I grabbed my stomach and got back up

Doctor midnight: who are you, where are you, are you a ghost

Invisible man: yes, I'm a ghost that's gonna take you down once and for all

I felt him kicked in me in my chest with his knee

Doctor midnight: (grunts)

As I fell down, I saw a puddle near by

Invisible man: it's by time your experiments are put to an end

I jumped in the puddle and was splashed on him, I saw here he was

And he wasn't no ghost

Doctor midnight: got ya

I kicked him in the chest and he started I show me his true form

Invisible man: ah

He was wrapped in bandages, from his head to his feet, he wore a fedora, a trench coat, leather gloves and had shades over his eyes, he like exactly like

Doctor midnight: the invisible man

Invisible man: (disguised) ugh

He runs off I follow him, I watch him just standing in the middle of a street

I was going to cuff him when a truck came out of nowhere and he disappeared in front of my eyes

Doctor midnight: whoa

I'll get him another time, until then I needed to track down the madman from earlier

I was driving and hopefully I'll see him as i do, much to my surprise, I see him, he was trying to pour liquid down on a defenseless citizen

Citizen: HELP!!!!!

Hyde: (evil chuckles)

I quickly got out of my car and kicked him off

Hyde: (grunts)

I helped the civilian up

Doctor midnight: get out of here

As he runs off, I pulled out my gun

Doctor midnight: alright put your hands in in the air

But as I watch him got up, I noticed how big he was and when he turned, I saw that he was large with a red-orange beard and glowing red eyes, he also had snarling beast like teeth and wore what looked like something mr. Hyde wore and I just realized that

Doctor midnight: you look like mr. Hyde

All he did was just give me a creepy smile

Doctor midnight: whats wrong, didn't get the part to play mr. Hyde (chuckles)

He punched in the chin with his enormous fist

Doctor midnight: ah

I fell back and he escaped me again

Doctor midnight: (grunts) on no you're not getting away from me again

I quickly got back in the car and went after him, I really did lost him this time, but I don't give up that easily.

As I had to search for him again, I had this feeling that I wasn't alone in my car

Invisible man: you're not from here are you

I quickly pulled out my gun and aimed it at him, he may be invisible but I knew where he was

Invisible man: whoa relax, I don't want any trouble

He reappeared back to his original form

Doctor midnight: either did I but yet you still attacked me

Invisible man: I thought you were mr. Hyde

Doctor midnight: you mean the menace of Chicago

Invisible man: you must be Doctor midnight

Doctor midnight: and you're the invisible madman

I handcuffed him to the chair

Invisible man: look I don't want any problems, I'm searching for the same man your after, in fact I been hunting mr. Hyde down for ages

Doctor midnight: you a cop

He looks through out the window

Invisible man: no

Doctor midnight: whats your deal with him them, are you just an average man trying to make something out of his life

Invisible man: let's just say, I'm not the man I used to be, I'm just trying to get back at the man who destroyed my life

Doctor midnight: well leave it to me, I handle people like him back in New Jersey

Invisible man: so your from New Jersey, I heard that place has lots of trouble there

Doctor midnight: I'll go back as soon as I can take care of this menace, after all I'm a private eye detective

Invisible man: hmm, some detective you are John!!!!

I stopped the car and looked at him in the face

Doctor midnight: how'd you know my name

Invisible man: your wallet

He showed me my wallet

Doctor midnight: (gasp) give me that back

I snatched my wallet back

Invisible man: not such a good idea to bring your wallet at missions

Doctor midnight: ugh

Just then I spotted him

Doctor midnight: there he is

I got out of the car and left him in there

Invisible man: hey are you going to let me out

Doctor midnight: I got this

As I went out to deal with mr. Hyde, the invisible man had a few tricks up his sleeves

I ran up to him as he carried a bag loaded with deadly chemicals, punched him in the face

Hyde: (grunts) ah

He dropped the chemicals, I went to punch him again when he threw a test tube filled with pink liquid at me, I ducked and it hit a bird.

Doctor midnight: ya missed

But he gave me a sinister smile, and I felt saliva drooling on me, I turned and saw the bird has mutated into a giant bird monster.

Doctor midnight: whoa

Caw

It grabbed me with its claws and threw me against the wall

Doctor midnight: (grunts)

As I watched mr. Hyde run away, I tried to chase him, when the bird picked me up and flew me around

Doctor midnight: whoa, whoa, whoa

It flew around in infinity circles and I was startled to get sick, not from the dizziness but from the ride, I pulled out my grabbing hook aimed it at the railings on a roof top and tied the wire on the bird's foot and as I jump off, it spun and around and finally hit a billboard

I landed in a dumpster, as I got out I saw the invisible man watching my performance

Invisible man: wow, you must've had some training

I jumped out and he headed to my car

Doctor midnight: something like that

He drove off again and after some silence, I had some thought

Doctor midnight: look we're not going to catch this guy if we keep aiming at each other's throat

Invisible man: what are you suggesting

Doctor midnight: we work together

Invisible man: hem

Doctor midnight: look you hate the guy and I want to go back to New Jersey, so if we work together, we can take him down

Invisible man: well I guess two heads are better then one, deal

We shook hands

Doctor midnight: deal, Edward Stevenson

Invisible man: what? How di—

Doctor midnight: I took your wallet

I pulled out his wallet and he takes it back

Invisible man: you really are a detective

Doctor midnight: yes but I need to know, what did he do to you that made you hate him

Invisible man: (sigh) well I guess since you know my identity you should know my backstory, how I became the invisible man, it happened four years ago, I was this scientist/detective hunting down mr. Hyde, he had this thing to create monsters, I tracked him down to this chemical factory and as I was about to bring him down he brought me down, he started the building on fire and trapped me in, my skin was burned pretty badly but I survived, I was in the hospital for weeks and when I came back home to my family, I found out that he attacked my wife Sonia and murdered my son sonny

Doctor midnight (in mind): there's someone I can relate to

Invisible man: I held my son close to me and cried as I felt his cold skin, his blood got on the bandages covering my Burnt skin, Sonia was luck to survive but I never came back to her

For the last few years, I spent months using science to fix my skin, I worked night and day but nothing happened...until one night, I made my entire body disappear, I'm whole skin was invisible, I then realized I could use this power to kill mr. Hyde for ruining my life.

Doctor midnight: I'm sorry for what happened to your family

Invisible man: now you see why I want to take him down, you wouldn't understand the pain I'm in

Doctor midnight: but I do

He turns to me

Invisible man: you do

Doctor midnight: I wasn't always a superhero, I used to have a family

Invisible man: what happened to them

Doctor midnight: a man name Antonio DiMaggio killed them, and just like you I tracked him down to New Jersey and when I finally found, I wanted to kill him like he killed my family, but I didn't instead I sent him to prison

Invisible man: but why didn't you you could've got even with him

Doctor midnight: because I asked myself, would Diana want this, name you need to ask yourself the same question, would your family want this, becoming a madman out for revenge

Invisible man: (sigh)

Doctor midnight: look you know mr. Hyde better then, I know about the things he's done, do you have any idea on what he's planning, what happened to him how did he become evil

Invisible man: he was a scientist trying to create something to save the world when, he cut himself on a glass dripping with mercury, and he started to go crazy and had this crazy idea of creating monsters, one day the c.e.o though he finally lost it when he created a serum that'll turned anyone into a monster, I tried to stop him from using it on anyone, he got on himself and transform him into mr. Hyde, he's created more monsters then he was with crimes

Doctor midnight: well tonight, he's experiments cone to an end

Invisible man: hmm, you know he had this idea of creating a bomb so Huge that it'll reached the entire city

Doctor midnight: for a bomb that Huge, he'll probably had to plant it somewhere with lots of space

Invisible man: hmm

Doctor midnight: hmm

Invisible man/Doctor midnight: (gasp) the Byron Nuclear Generating Station

Invisible man: he's gonna dumped the bomb in the water reactors

Doctor midnight: and activate the bomb causing an enormous explosion

Invisible man/Doctor midnight: turning Chicago into a city of monsters

We looked at each other, I stepped on the pedal speeding, and raced to the nuclear station, Mr. Hyde wants to create monsters and wreak havoc in Chicago.

We made it to the plante and as we ran inside, we saw him holding the bomb above the water reactors and as he activates it, as he gets ready to drop, we crash through the glass window

Shattered

We pounced on him and as he fell, he dropped the bomb, I watch as the bomb fell on the edge of the floor, inches away from the water reactor, I looked at the invisible man

Invisible man: go, I'll take care of him, just be sure that bomb doesn't fall in the water

I gave him nod as I jumped down and ran to the bomb, he didn't see mr. Hyde pounced on him and pinned him to the ground

Invisible man: (grunts)

Hyde: (evil laughter) hehehehe hahaha ha

Invisible man: ugh

He rolled over, grabbed him by his shirt and punched him rabidly

And as he was beat up mr. Hyde, I was so close to picking up the bomb, it fell when I accidentally tipped it over by kicking it

Doctor midnight: no!!

I quickly pulled out my grabbing hook aimed at it and caught it just in time before it could touched the water

I heard the bomb beep rabidly as I pulled it up, I saw it was 15 minutes left, I turned it over open the back, cut the red wire and stopped the timer

Doctor midnight: I stopped the bomb

I yelled out to him, but I got no response

Doctor midnight: hmm

I got confused and pulled out my grabbing hook and as I pulled myself up to the top

I saw him beating up mr. Hyde, he's gloves were covered in blood and mr. Hyde was red with blood, blue in bruises still laughing it only made the invisible man more madder

He punches him harder then he ever did, his rage was filled with vengeance, it reminds me of how I wanted kill my family's killer

And just then, he pulls him and gets ready to put him out, I needed to stop this before it gets out of hand

Hyde: hahaha hehehehe hahaha

Invisible man: YOUR GOING TO PAY FOR WHAT YOU DONE ERIN

Doctor midnight: Invisible man wait

He turned to me

Doctor midnight: don't do it

If his face wasn't invisible, you would see the anger on his face

Doctor midnight: it's not worth it

He turns back at mr. Hyde Still not listening to me

Doctor midnight: would your family wanted this

Invisible man: thanks to him he took my family away

Doctor midnight: it won't bring them back, trust me

He thought for a minute and I hope he makes the right decision and after deciding, he's decision is finally made

He throws him on the ground

Hyde: (moans)

He goes to him and handcuffs him

Invisible man: he's not worth to die, not yet he is

He made the right decision

I offered to take mr. Hyde in Brighton asylum back at New Jersey and as he was taken away, the Edward created an antidote to cure the monsterism mr. Hyde turned the policemen to and after we save Chicago from the monster apocalypse, commissioner archer thanked and as I went outside to car, I was the invisible man leaning against my car

Invisible man: so you're going back to New Jersey

Doctor midnight: I'm afraid so

Invisible man: you know we make a pretty great team

Doctor midnight: yeah we do

Invisible man: you know Chicago could use a hero

Doctor midnight: sorry but I'm needed back at New Jersey

I got inside the car

Doctor midnight: but you could be a superhero

Invisible man: really even after what I done

Doctor midnight: hey from what I seem, you could be a hero for this town, just remember who your doing this for

He runs around at an apartment building in a window, he's old wife was there, I placed my hand on his shoulder

Doctor midnight: it's never too late to see her

Invisible man: goodbye John and thank you for all your help

Doctor midnight: goodbye Edward

As we shook hands, I let go and started the engine

Invisible man: if you ever need help you know where to find me

Doctor midnight: good luck invisible man

As I got back to New Jersey, pass by the old welcome sign, was a strange alien symbol
