As Jungkook plays absentmindedly with the fingers on Yoongi's right hand Yoongi can't help but let a soft smile play on his lips, dropping subtle glances as the younger does so.

He's used to it now. Acclimated thoroughly after all these years, but it took a while for him to get used to the physical affection the members show.

He and Namjoon aren't necessarily the touchiest of people. Yoongi inherently less-so than the younger.

Jin is rather indifferent to it– as he is with most things in life.

Hoseok will often throw an arm around whoever is closest, especially when he's laughing hard enough, and he isn't one to shy away from someone leaning on his shoulder or resting their head on his thigh when they're all laying sprawled out on the floor, exhausted from rehearsals.

The youngest three though... they're the cuddlers. The members who can't go more than twenty minutes without being pressed against someone's side, resting their chin on someone's shoulder or holding someone's hand.

They adore physical contact. Need it. And for whatever reason Yoongi seems to be their target to fulfill such needs outside of their trio.

If Yoongi could pinpoint when it first started, or at least when he started to notice, it was when they began traveling.

During their first few trips out of the country to places such as the U.S., Canada, New Zealand; places where they didn't know anyone, back when no one really knew them either, and they were constantly walking places together.

In those times whichever of the three was closest would reach for his hand, keeping Yoongi close to guide him wherever they were headed.

To this day Yoongi isn't really sure why he was the one they would choose to guide along but he didn't complain then and he surely isn't going to complain now.

He likes hand holding and each of their hands, although so different from each other, all fit wonderfully in Yoongi's.

Taehyung's are a little larger than his, which he finds comforting.

Jimin's are smaller, which makes him feel protective.

Jungkook's are nearly the same size as his own and he is the one who does the most with Yoongi's hand when it's in his, which isn't surprising.

He is also the one who, of the three, reaches for Yoongi's hand most often.

Their youngest member tends to be restless. The one who fidgets and gets distracted most frequently and easily which gives him a need to keep his mind– and his hands– busy.

All of the members are very familiar with the quirks that come with Jungkook's high energy levels. None of them mind being able to help calm his anxiousness, or boredom in some cases, by offering distractions.

With this in mind, Yoongi likes to place himself within reach.

Any of the members can be of use to their youngest in this way but none are quite as peaceful as Yoongi is when it comes to the soothing.

Namjoon would be a similar source of calming for Jungkook but he is usually the speaker for the group so all eyes are fixed on him more often than not and Jungkook gets the most restless during interviews.

Jin and Jungkook tease and taunt each other like only siblings can when they are together so he isn't the most optimal choice because he tends to add energy rather than subdue it.

Hoseok is quite the instigator when he wants to be depending on his mood and the day, but he often prefers to cuddle up with their youngest when he's needing to still himself rather than offer up his hand to be held.

This is fine in more relaxed situations, like when they play games for Run BTS or during certain types of content they shoot, but not appropriate for every setting when cameras are present.

(Interlocking fingers can be hidden. Jungkook wrapping his arms around Hoseok's shoulders, legs thrown over the older's lap, while Hoseok cradles him like a baby cannot.)

Taehyung and Jimin, the package deal that they are, bring giggling and whispering with their mischievousness.

Add Jungkook to their duo and nothing but chaos, louder giggling and more teasing comes from it.

No, Yoongi seems to be the most natural and calm conduit for Jungkook to use when he needs something, or someone, to hold to keep his hands busy.

Currently Jungkook is fidgety. When he is like this he takes interest in playing with Yoongi's hands.

He likes to trace the veins on the back of them with the tips of his fingers. Or sometimes just rub his thumb back and forth across Yoongi's knuckles softly.

It's soothing for them both really. Grounding.

Yoongi likes it when their youngest members hold his hand. Likes it a lot.

It makes him feel useful. Helpful. And not just with their youngest three but with all of his bandmates.

He likes to be needed.

If that means doing something as tedious as sitting with Hoseok and Namjoon until odd hours of the night playing and replaying the same eight measures of a song, he'll do it.

If it's something as simple as sitting a little closer to one of them so they can tug at and caress his hand, he'll offer it to them.

Yoongi loves his friends with his whole heart. If something as small as holding their hand will bring even the smallest bit of relief and/or comfort, he'll gladly do it.

It may have taken him some time to get used to the amount of physical contact the members would initiate and needed but he's loved and admired them from the start.

They are everything to him and all he ever wants is for them to be happy.

If taking his hand in theirs makes them happy, well, isn't he so lucky that he has two of them.

Two hands that are always free for any of his dearest friends– his brothers– when they need a hand to hold.
